Chapter 5 Have You Seen Enough

Molly thanked Gemma from the bottom of her heart over and over. Feeling both extremely embarrassed and extremely guilty, Gemma soon found an excuse to escape the scene.

Josie followed her happily, praising her for her connection to Tide.

Gemma hissed in a low voice, "Mom! Mr. Reynolds is well-respected in Atheton. Someone will help the Reynolds for sure. Maybe someone has already contacted Tide. We don't need to rush things."

Upon hearing this, confusion was written all over Josie's face. Why was Gemma, who always liked showing off, unwilling to help the Reynolds at such a critical moment? Didn't she want to marry into the Reynolds family?

Josie smacked the back of Gemma's head and said angrily, "Are you stupid? If you can get Tide to save Mr. Reynolds, his family will forever be grateful to you and our family. Then it'll be a piece of cake for you to marry into their family!"

Gemma grimaced. She knew that this was the perfect opportunity to please the Reynolds, but the fact of the matter was that she didn't know Tide at all! How could she invite Tide to treat Mr. Reynolds in that case?

Gemma shook her head feebly. "But-"

However, Josie interrupted her harshly. "Besides, now everyone knows that you're friends with Tide. If you don't bring him here, not only will our family lose face, but you can kiss your dreams of marrying into the Reynolds family goodbye! So you'd better bring Tide here, or else!"

Josie wanted to establish a good relationship with Molly. When she saw the way Molly was looking at her and Gemma so eagerly, it fed into her vanity.

"Mrs. Reynolds!" she said loudly. "Don't worry too much, okay? Gemma and Tide are good friends. She'll definitely make him cure Mr. Reynolds!"

All the color drained from Gemma's face as her mother spoke.

Seeing that her plan was successful, Kaylee smiled in satisfaction and she quietly followed the Stephens back to their residence.

As soon as they got home, Haisley began to stir up trouble again. Holding the house keys in her hand, she looked at Kaylee in disdain and sneered, "You're too ugly to live in our house. Get out!"

Then Haisley stormed off and went to her room.

Kaylee didn't care about what Haisley thought of her. Ignoring her sister-in-law's harsh insult, Kaylee just yawned casually.

She had a long day and was really sleepy.

She tried to look for an empty bedroom on the first floor, but she found that all the doors were locked.

Speechless, Kaylee clicked her tongue in disappointment and went to the second floor. The first room on the left was unlocked, so she went inside.

There was no one in the room, and it was clean and tidy. Kaylee was very satisfied.

As soon as she threw herself into the soft bed and closed her eyes to get some rest, she heard the door swing open.

She opened her eyes, only to find Elijah in nothing but a towel coming out of the bathroom.

He had the perfect figure. Abs, chiseled muscles, defined arms...

Even Kaylee couldn't help but find him really handsome.

When Elijah saw the woman on his bed, he was shocked for a moment and subconsciously wanted to scramble to put on his clothes.

But when he thought about his image as a playboy in everyone's eyes, he had no choice but to play it cool. He raised his eyebrows and asked playfully, "Have you seen enough? Or do you want to see more?"

He approached the bed, rendering Kaylee speechless. She pretended to be calm and said, "Sorry, I didn't know this was your room."

As she spoke, she scrambled out of bed.

Elijah stopped her and said in a hoarse voice, "I'm not just going to let you leave."
