Chapter 6 Fire her at once

POV: MIA WALTERS.

Could my day get any worse?

The owners of the bar - a middle-aged couple with stern expressions and no-nonsense attitudes - finally appeared from the back room. They looked annoyed at being interrupted, but also curious to know what was going on. "What's the problem here, gentlemen?" the man asked, rubbing his bald head in irritation.

"Your employee just hit me in the face, just because I made a joke. I demand you fire her at once." Jax said

My face became pale at the look on the bar owner's face. Of course, this was going to be a problem to them, because an employee had hit their patron.

I could bid my job bye, but I ahd made it clear to this guy, that women are not personal toys, that can be bought over with Money.

At leat not all girls were like that. I sighed, and placed my hands at my back.

"This girl has been causing trouble and talking back to us," The guy who had grabbed my but pointing a finger at Me. "We demand that you fire her on the spot and teach her a lesson about respect."

The owners exchanged a quick glance, then looked at Mia with a cold gaze that made her flinch. "Is this true, young lady?" the woman asked, her voice as sharp as a knife.

I hesitated, then swallowed hard and nodded. "I'm sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I was just defending myself. This man in particular grabbed me indecently and in aner I hit him on the face." I said in anger.

The woman snorted. "You call that defending yourself? You're lucky we don't call the police on you for disturbance of the peace. You're fired, effective immediately. Pack your things and leave this place."

I looked around, watching if anybody would at least stand up for me, but nobody did, so I held back my tears and took a deep breath. "Yes, ma'am. I understand. Thank you for the opportunity." I said and picked my bag up walking out of the bar.

I walked out of the bar, and into the street, placing my headphones on my ear.

"Mia." I heard and felt my hand be gripped. I turned around and came face to face with Alexei, the same one who had tried to stop his Friend from harrassing me.

"Well, how can I help you?" I asked. Alexei was a person I dreamed to work with, as he was very talented in music. But I had lost respect for him seeing the type of stupid friends he kept, and how he wasn;t able to stand up for me, seeing how I was being maltreated there.

"Listen, I am so sorry,Mia. I didn't want to see you get fired. But then, I couldn't involve myself to avoid a scandal." He said and I glared at him.

"So you would rather watch someone, be mistreated, and harrassed and embarrassed, just to protect your repiutation? Just one word, and you could have stopped me from losing my job." I said and he shut his eyes in frustrations.

He looked like he had a bad day. "This was why I told them we should go to some other bar." He murmured.

"Excuse me? Are you saying it is my fault for getting Harrassed?" I asked and he shook his head.

"That is not what I meant, Listen, I am apologising on my friends behalf. I am so deeply sorry." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever for? You didn't harrass me, so you shouldn't be the one apologising." I said and he sighed.

"I am sorry I didn't do anything to protect you, and you were fired from your job unjustly."He said and I nodded.

"If that is all, I wish to be on my way home." I said and he nodded.

"Wait a bit." He said and reached into his pocket and brought his wallet, and pulled out a couple of notes, that looked like a few thousands and handed it to me.

"What's this?" I asked.

"Compensation. I do not want this getting out, please." He said pleadingly and anger filled me.

"You want to buy me, with money? I had no intent of publicizing it. I'm not an attention seeker. But you need to learn, not everything can be solved with money, The emotional dent I hjust received, money can't remove it. Good night, Mr Alexei." I said and walked.

He dragged me and I tripped and fell into his arms, and his lips jammed with mine. We remained like that for some seconds before I pushed myself off of him and slpped him.

"What the hell was that? You guys are really all the same." I yelled angrily and he stared at me in utter surprise.

"Listen, you are misunderstanding things. That was not intentional, please believe me." He said and I glared at him.

Whatever I am out of here." I said and walked out, my heart beating fast.

I had just lost my first kiss with Alexei Kovalenko.

My phone began to ring and I saw Ruth's caller ID.

"Hi Ruth." I said as I spoke into the phone.

"Why do you sound all dull?" She asked and I chuckled.

"You can hear it?" I asked.

"Yeah. What's wrong?" She asked.

"I got fired from my job." I said and she gasped.

"Why?" She asked.

"Long stoy, I'm not willing to talk about." I said and she sighed.

"I understand. Will you be okay? How about you come over to my place?" She asked and I shook my head.

"No, I'll be fine. I just wanna be home and rest." I said and she sighed again.

"Alright. I'll call tomorrow. Love you, babe." She said and ended the call. I sighed and smiled a bit, started to walk down, Music paying In my ear. I bought beer and Chicken as I walked home.

I arrived home and binge watched movies while enjoying my beer and chicken and then I slept off, my mind on the job hunting I'd be doing tomorrow.

Brrrng! My phne rang loudly and it jerked me up from sleep. I robbed my eyes groggily and looked at the time.

It was just 7:23am. Whatever was she calling me so early for?

"Hey Ruth? What's up? Why you calling so early in the morning?" I asked with a slight yawn.

"Did you have any kind of encounter with Alexei Kovalenko, yesterday?" She asked and I sat up straight.

"How did you know?" I asked and she sighed.

"Girl,you are all over social Media, as his woman. Go to your instagram." She said and ended the call, and I hurriedly logged into my instagram.

Picttures of me were everywhere on Instagram, on every blog.

And not just my personal pictures, but there was one that struck me.
