Chapter 4 I was attracted to her

POV: ALEXEI KOVALENKO

"Make sure you are home tonight. We have guests." Father said and I gave him a look.

"What guests?" I asked.

"The family of your future bride."

This words were making my head bang, and it made me so uncomfortable at the same time. I was angry, angry at the fact that Dad felt he could control me into doing as he pleases. It was annoying, hurtful, and the fact that he thought I couldn't even chose the kind of life I wanted for myself.

Or maybe I could. Maybe it'd just be best for me to just pick myself a bride, even if it means that the bride is just for contractual purposes.

I have no intent to marry anybody until I unravel the mystery behind the strange girl in my dreams.

"Mr Alexei, you've got a board meeting by 1pm." A tall, blonde secretary said. I whirled my chair to my face and I sighed.

"Would it be possible for me to have this meetings postponed? I don't think I'm in the right mental frame of mind, to handle the meetings." I said and she sighed..

"The meeting is holding in an hour. I can't postpone it now." She said and I nodded solemnly

"Got it, Lou." I said and went back to working on my laptop.

I stared at my computer and typed away. Being a business man who knew nothing, but business wealth, and riches, I almost had no time for myself. My friends, were playboys, who only ever cared about women and other stuff that I wasn't really interested in, and always wanted to hangout.

Are you free to night? Hangout with the boys at 8pm. My phone beeed with a text message from Jax, one of my closest friends.

Maye this was the best way to avoid the annoying Marriage decision dinner dad had planned. And a way to get on his nerves even more.

"Mr Alexei, you have a visitor." My secretary said and I looked up in surprise. I wasn't expecting any visitor.

"Who is it?" I asked and she stood aside and My mother walked in. I gave Lou a sign to go and Mother walked in and sat across me.

"Are you upset about this morning?" She asked and I looked up from my paper work.

"Don't I have the right to be?" I asked and she sighed.

"Your father is just worried about you. He feels that you might become a subject of attacks from the board members if you do not get married soon." She said and I looked at her.

"I never wanted to be chairman of the board in the first place, Mom. You both forced me into it." I said and she sighed. "He asked you to ocme here to convince me to make it home for the dinner, isn't that right?" I asked and she sighed.

"Yes." She said and I shut my eyes in frustration.

"How about you just let me be? Huh? I am stressed and orver worked because I haave mind my own business and watch over Father's as well. Not only that fact, but also the fact that now you choose my own bride for me. It is very inconvenient for me Mother." I said and she sighed.

"It is not a girl you do not know." She said and I gave her a look.

"Who is she?" I asked.

"Nicole. Nicole Darel." She said and I sighed in frustration.

"Did her parents do this? I made it clear that Nicole and I will only ever remain friends." I said in anger and Mother glared at me.

"She loves you, Alexei. Her parents are rich and sophisticated, isn't that enough for you?" She asked and I looked at her.

"I have no intention to enter into an arranged marriage, so please cancel this. I am not getting married to Nicole and that is it." I said and she glared and stood up.

"You have to be home for the diiner tonight, Alexei, or your Father won't let this go." She said and walked out and I sighed angrily.

"Mr Alexei-" I heard Lou say and I stood up and grabbed my coat.

"Cancel all my appointments for today.I can't do this,." I said and walked out, my car keys and bag in my hands.

"Hey Mike, what's up? Where you at?" I asked, s I called my best Friend,Mike.

"I'm at the gym, going through some sweat." He said.

"Great. I'll meet you there." I said and ended the call and drove quickly to Mike's gym.

I alighted from the car and entered the gym, and went into the changing room, where I changed into lose clothes, wielding my boxing gloves.

"Hold up, man. You look stressed. Are you alright?" Mike asked as I punched on a particular punching bag.

"No. Everything was just fine, until my parents decided to h=just ruin it for me." I said,focusing hard and punching the bag.

"Who?What the hell are you mumbling about, Alexei?" He asked and I paused.

"I am suddenly engaged to be married to Nicole." I said and he dropped the water bottle he had been holding.

"Excuse me? Say that again." He said.

"Exactly. That was my reaction when I heard it. Why on earth is she doing all she can for me to marry her? I said it time and time without numbers that I do not want to be married to someone I do not love. And I do not have such feelings for Nicole." I said punching the bag hard.

I looked at the time on my wrist watch. I had talked with Mike for hours on end, talking and pouring out my frustrations about my Father. It was some minutes past Seven Pm, and I was seriously contemplating on whether to ditch the so called family meeting, or not.

When Jax and Ricky arrived, I made my decision.

"Let's go to a near-by bar. Then we can hang out at the strip clubs. I nodded and we drove in my car to the near by bar. We ordered drinks and were sipping quietly when a young beautiful woman entered into the bar, and went straight to the counter. She seemed like a worker here.

And I was attracted to her.
