Chapter 6 Discredit

Danielle didn't get up until ten in the late morning, feeling rejuvenated.

After putting on her clothes and coming downstairs, she looked around but couldn't find Vernon. So she inquired, "Has anyone seen Vernon?"

The servant set the dishes on the table while the butler stood nearby and spoke respectfully. "Mr. Herrera left early today, perhaps in a bad mood as he skipped breakfast."

"He skipped breakfast?" Danielle frowned and wondered who had irritated him again.

Did he not seem to be in a good mood yesterday?

In her previous life, Vernon was always moody, and it seemed like nothing had changed in this life.

She didn't mind that Vernon didn't want to have breakfast with her. In fact, she felt more at ease being alone.

While eating, Danielle grabbed her phone and checked the news.

Hattie and Wilbur had become a trending topic.

Their naked photos could be found everywhere.

"Big news! This is big news! The famous female actress Hattie Gilbert and wealthy Frazier heir Wilbur Frazier were caught having sex outdoors! If you want to see the video, just follow me!"

"Goodness... Wow, I can't believe it. Hattie is wilder than we thought. The two people in the video were badly hurt. How could they withstand such a bloody scene while having sex?"

"It's shocking to see that Hattie, who was known for being innocent and pure, is actually behaving so promiscuously in the video. She's even too much for my taste!"

"The upper class is really a mess. Hattie's finished now. Plus, I noticed her breasts are quite small. Did she wear padding on television previously?"

Seeing these comments, Danielle laughed heartily. In a good mood, she ate a lot.

Hattie's reputation was now in tatters.

As Danielle was joyfully scrolling through her phone, it suddenly rang.

She glanced at the caller ID and a chill ran down her spine.

It was her father, Shane Gilbert.

This man came from a poor countryside background and managed to marry her mother by devious means, gaining his current status and wealth.

For him, Danielle's mother even severed ties with her family, but Shane was unfaithful and fathered an illegitimate child, Hattie. After Danielle's mother passed away, Shane immediately married the homewrecker, inviting them to move in.

In her previous life, Danielle only realized on her deathbed that her mother was murdered by them!

Danielle restrained her emotions, took a deep breath, and answered the call.

Immediately, a man's bellow erupted from the other end. "Danielle! Get your ass back here right now! What have you done? You've destroyed Hattie's reputation! You bitch! You're as malicious as your mother!"

At that instant, Danielle clenched her teeth and tightened her grip on the phone.

"Danielle, are you deaf? I'm speaking to you!" Shane roared again, not hearing her response.

"Fine, I'll return."

Danielle tried to control her anger and ended the call. She was left panting, and her breath was still heavy.

Since he demanded her return, she would comply.

She had intended to exact vengeance anyway.

She wouldn't spare any of them.

However, returning alone wouldn't suffice.

She needed help.

After some contemplation, Danielle took her phone and dialed Vernon's number.

At Herrera Group.

In the CEO's office.

Upon completing the final document, Vernon glanced at his watch, realizing it was already noon. He inquired, "Did she wake up?"

Stefan informed, "Mrs. Herrera was up at ten o'clock. She ate more breakfast than usual."

Vernon scoffed, "Quite the appetite she has."

"Sir, there's one more thing." Stefan hesitated before continuing, "Today, her father called her, requesting her to return home. It's likely regarding Hattie and Wilbur. I fear she may face trouble if she goes back alone."

Danielle had caused Hattie significant distress. Returning to the Gilberts' place now could prove disastrous for her.

"Should we assign some people to ensure her safety?"

In fact, Stefan harbored no affection for Danielle, but Vernon cared for her. If something happened to her, Vernon would suffer the most.

Vernon's expression became tense as he thought about Danielle's situation, but when he remembered that she was calling out another man's name in bed, his tone and demeanor became cold as he said, "Why does she need protection? She's perfectly capable. Leave her be."

That heartless woman deserved to suffer some punishment.
