Chapter 4 The New Owner

"I have had a very stressful day Lucas I won't be doing this with you so please kindly let go of me. Where I go is none of your buisness okay" Ariane expected him to let her go but he was unrelenting

"It is my buisness!! You are my wife Ari..."

"Not by choice though! You forced me into this shit so pardon me if this doesn't feel like a normal relationship. What's this even about huh? Didn't know I had a curfew would have been home earlier" she was being meanly sarcastic and it wasn't helping matters

"We were to have dinner with my parents do you even remember that. Why are you always acting so immature and hell bent on embarrassing me in front of my family?" Ariane groaned a bit she had actually forgotten all about the dinner.

"Is that what this is all about? Your mum? Oh man I've wanted to say this shit for so long so listen carefully. I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHAT YOUR MOTHER OR SISTER'S OPINION OF ME IS. THEY WILL NEVER LIKE ME AND I HONESTLY DONT LIKE THEM TOO Was that loud enough for you or do I need to rewind" she was breathing hard at the end of her ranting.

"Is that why you switched off your phone to stop receiving my calls and texts? Oh wait you did reply... What was it again fuck off?"

"Firstly my phone is on I never switched it off it was just on vibration mode and I sure as hell never received a text or call from you" Lucas whipped out his phone and showed his call logs and messages evidence that he actually tried to reach her. She wasn't having any of it and brought out her phone clearly showing him that it was never turned off to begin with. She opened her call logs first then her messages but there was no single thing related to him.

"Great so you are just going to delete all my calls and texts"

"You know what fuck you. I'm not gonna argue with you so please move away from the door" Lucas stormed out of the room furious and she walked under the shower stressed from everything happening in her life.

Ariane walked into her office holding on to a large cup of soda munching on a doughnut only to meet a pleasant surprise. Jared was standing at her desk his back to her. After a week of pleading and begging her brother seemed like Isaac finally managed to convince their father to release Jared. She dumped her cup and doughnut aside hugging him from behind.

"Umm... hey I mean hi, hello" Ariane wasn't dumb and could tell something was wrong. He turned back to face her gently pulling out of her hug.

"Jared i am so so sorry for everything that happened that day at your apartment I didn't really tell you why I left home... wait is something wrong" Jared was slowly putting a little distance between them.

"Ariane I came here to tell you something. Umm I thought about it while I was in that detention bunker..." Their attention was suddenly directed to the guards who walked into her office and without explanation they took Jared leading him out.

"Hey what's going on? Where are you taking him to? What did he do?"

"Ma'am please stay out of it. The CEO asked us to bring him." Ariane was surprised what did Jared do? Without wasting time she headed out to the office of his department head to know what he might have done.

"Miss please head down to the larger conference room" Ariane looked at the security guard what was going on today.

"The CEO asked that every staff be there in 10 minutes"

Ariane walked through the doors of the conference room looking around to see if she could find Amy. She finally spotted her and they took their seat in a middle row.

"Do you know what this is about?" Amy asked nudging Ariane with her elbow trying to get her attention. Ariane was looking around the place to see if she could sight Jared that was till someone tapped her.

"Ma'am please make your way to the first row" Both ladies looked at the security guard weirdly.

"But she is with me, we are okay sitting here besides the front row is almost filled up"

"Mrs King please come along with your friend" Ariane looked up at Nicholas, Lucas childhood friend and consigliere. Things just got complicated what ever this meeting was she could already predict it was bad for her.

"What's Lucas doing here" Amy whispered as they both took their seats in the front row. Lucas seated on stage was smiling at Ariane like he knew something she didn't.

"I don't get why are you asking me"

"Umm maybe it's cause you live with him"

"He's been leaving before me and coming back late since we fought I haven't really seen him." They both went quiet when their CEO stood up.

He explained that the company had been bought by The King Enterprises though he would remain it's CEO. With every word he spoke Ariane's eyes widened the more and Lucas smile grew.

Lucas stood up to say something eyes fixated on Ariane who couldn't help but squirm under his gaze.
