Chapter 7 She Is My Wife

"...You can't go in there" Lucas secretary was right behind her but her warning was too late. Lucas was about to yell at whoever it was but calmed down seeing it was Ariane.

Ariane cleared her throat after she finally got over the embarrassing situation that just occurred.

"Hi. Sorry I'll just come back another time" She tried to leave but Lucas stopped her just in time.

"It's okay Ari have a seat I'm almost done anyways" The people in the room looked at him weirdly they were far from done with their conversation and they couldn't understand why he didn't get angry that she barged in.

"Sir I can call security" His secretary was trying hard to make up for her mistake more like Ariane's mistake.

"You can go to your desk Whitney. Ari please have a seat" Ariane reluctantly took a seat on a couch flashing an awkward smile at the people giving her weird looks.

"Craig you can continue"

"Sir with all due respect this project cannot be leaked no matter what. Only the people in this room know about it extensively and we all signed NDA's I don't think she should be here." Craig gave a side glance at Ariane who had put on her ear buds busy texting someone on her phone.

"I happen to trust her more than every single person in this office right now. She is my wife so refer to her respectfully next time you speak. Now Craig don't waste my time" The people in the room were astonished and couldn't help but take a second look at Ariane. It took a minute for them to comport themselves.

"So why were you so eager to see me? Did you miss me?" Lucas leaned back on his chair a smile playing on his lips.

"What do you want?" Ariane had initially thought she would just storm in and say anything in her mind to change his mind on firing her but now that the adrenaline has faded off she couldn't help but be a little meek in her approach.

"You came to see me in a hurry I should be the one to ask that question."

"My eyes are up here perv"

Ariane had been leaning forward in front of his desk with her top button open she didn't realise on time but she was actually giving him a nice view of her cleavage.

"Yh yh" Ariane tried dragging a seat to his desk but didn't expect it to be so heavy so she settled for standing straight. "You can sit on my lap?"

"What exactly is it going to take for you to leave me and Jared alone?"

"I'm in a very pleasant mood right now Ari. Please don't ruin it by mentioning that sissy you keep as your boy toy" The smile he had on since she began was slowly fading

"I'm not resigning and you will make sure Keith has no reason to fire me. You also will release Jared cause we both know he did nothing wrong."

"I might even consider not firing you but that weakling doesn't deserve anything from me certainly not mercy. What makes you think I'd let any man live after touching you?"

"Why do you keep calling him names. Jared was a better boyfriend than you can ever dream of being." Lucas rubbed his temples stressed already. Last thing he needed was to argue with Ariane no matter how much she was getting on his nerves.

"A man who can't stand up nor fight for his woman is no better than a pussy... You asked what it would take for me to grant your request well I have an idea in mind"

Ariane didn't like the calculative look she was seeing in Lucas eyes it was like he was spinning up another trap.

"It's very easy you just have to be a perfect wife to me for 2 months. No missing my calls, we will have all meals together, you have to listen to whatever I say and do what ever I say too. No other men except from me."

"That's lowkey slavery. How am I meant to believe you will keep to your side of the agreement you aren't very trustworthy and don't confuse me for yourself I don't go around sleeping with random people you wish you could say the same"

"Your words hurt me my love all these years and I have kept my self for you but you can't relate. If you agree we can make a hand written agreement sign it and make photo copies."

Ariane walked out of the King's Enterprises headquarters holding a photocopy of her agreement with Lucas. She just needed to act right for a while and Jared would be able to live his life without fear of Lucas.

She didn't really care about her deal with Lucas it could have been worse and she knew without being told that she'd never find Jared on her own or even with help if he was being held by Lucas.

"How am I meant to know how it spread isn't that the job of rumours to spread? All I know is some people were talking about it in the bathroom and I happened to hear. And you too why were you leaving the lounge with your hair messy and lipstick smudged? Don't tell me you suddenly decided to forgive him and now you both are fucking?" Amy was being her normal inquisitive self and Ariane kept trying to explain that nothing happened. They were both heading back to company since their lunch break was almost over till a little boy of no more than 11 years stopped in front of her with a large bouquet of roses.

"Wow you really are very pretty! That kind uncle over there asked me to give you this" The boy handed her the flowers and pointed in a direction she didn't get to see who it was as the person entered a taxi.

"Are those from Lucas? Awww now quickly check if it's very expensive maybe we can resell it you know since we both have money problems."

Ariane thanked the little boy and quickly fished out the note from the bouquet.

"Actually it's not from Lucas. It says from Ken"
