Chapter 9 I Want a Divorce

"Ma'am, I'm sorry. My hand is hurt, and I can't serve you. I'll have someone else replace me." With her hand placed at her side, Zoey managed a smile and said respectfully.

Suppressing the pain in the back of her hand and the embarrassment in her heart, Zoey was keen to leave here.

Did Charlie want a divorce?

Fine!

She would divorce him when she got back!

Zoey could not stand that Charlie remained motionless when his wife was being bullied!

Olivia looked at Zoey with contempt and continued, "Why are you, a waitress, so fragile? It's just because of a small injury that you want to leave? I don't want anyone else. I order you to continue to serve us! Otherwise, I'll kick you out of A City!"

"Olivia, don't be ridiculous!" Anthony rebuked.

Olivia snorted, her contemptuous gaze sweeping across Zoey's gorgeous face. "Anthony, do you want another lover? It's okay that you keep a humble woman like her as a lover for a period of time at will, but don't take it seriously."

Zoey's expressionless face made Olivia more furious. She continued to humiliate her. "Even though you are beautiful, you can only be a plaything for wealthy and powerful men. Don't think that you can marry a rich family, because of you... do not deserve it!"

Zoey smiled faintly and replied, "Thank you for the reminder. I know now."

From the beginning to the end, she did not give Charlie a single look. Aggrieved, disappointed, and sad, Zoey began to think of their forced marriage.

Except for Frank Johnson, everyone else was in disbelief. Olivia asked immediately, "If she's your wife, why does she still work as a humble waitress?"

Zoey could not help contradicting, "Miss, I don't steal or rob. I don't think my job is humble!"

If Zoey had not been Charlie's wife, Olivia would have slapped her across the face. But now, she could only keep her temper.

"She is my wife. Your humiliating her means that you humiliate me! The Kingsley Family never tolerates any offense!"

His deep dark eyes filled with fury, Charlie's icy and imposing aura overwhelmed the crowd.

Charlie Kingsley was not someone that they dared to offend.

The jealousy in mind engulfed Olivia's all senses. In a low voice, she explained, "Charlie, how can we know you marry a woman from the bottom of the society... This kind of woman is only after money. Charlie, don't be deceived by her appearance..."

Charlie ignored Olivia and said to Frank Johnson, his best friend, "Frank, don't invite me to this kind of boring party again!"

He pushed the electric wheelchair towards Zoey to check on her hand. With a vague look in his eyes, he picked up the tea in front of Anthony and poured it on the back of Olivia's hand.
