Chapter 8 The Angry Wife

In the early morning, Zoey would carefully prepare western food for him, and at night before going to bed, she would massage his legs...

She took good care of him but refused to talk to him or persuade him to sleep with her.

He was keenly aware that she was still angry with what he had said that day.

"When are you willing to talk to me?" Charlie could not help asking.

Zoey said to Edward, "Tell him that I'm going to be back late tonight and call the masseuse for Mr. Kingsley."

Edward was a bit speechless. Charlie was right in front of her, but she asked him to relay the message.

"You find another job?" Charlie asked.

Zoey chuckled at Edward, "Yes, I have to make some preparation in case that someone kicks me out one day."

"No, I'm just doing something good for you..." He tried to explain, but Zoey interrupted him angrily.

"If so, don't push me towards other men!"

"Charlie, do you really think that if you keep your chastity for Caroline, she will come back?

"I'm telling you. Since she abandoned you, she will never come back!"

Caroline was a taboo that left an incurable wound in Charlie's heart.

His face was gloomy and horrible. There was a flame smoldering in his black eyes, which was likely to burn Zoey.

For fear that Charlie would say something mean, Zoey turned to run out.

She was not as tough as she seemed. She was actually afraid that Charlie would dump her.

At the Fairyland Hotel.

Located downtown, the hotel was featured by the style of the Tang Dynasty. There were airy pavilions, pagodas goblets, and Chinese traditional opera inside. And even waiters were dressed in Tang suits.

The guests in each private room were either rich or powerful. In short, Fairy Land Hotel was not a place for ordinary people.

Zoey was responsible for the Hibiscus Pavilion today. She wore a pink shirt and a green long skirt with her hair in two buns, delicate like a flower blooming under the warm sun in spring.

Gracefully, Zoey walked over and opened the engraved wooden door with a smile. When she secretly observed the guests, she found a familiar man sitting in the primary seat. Her smile disappeared immediately.

"Waiter, what are you standing there for? Pour the tea for us."

"Yes." Zoey calmed down and ignored Charlie's gaze.

There was a flash of surprise in his profound eyes. He did not expect that he would run into Zoey, who worked as a waitress here.

Zoey was embarrassed by the thought that they just had a quarrel in the morning and that there was a distinct gap between their present status.

Zoey walked into the living room where the group was sitting with a teapot, pouring tea for them one by one. When she did it for Charlie, her hand shook uncontrollably, and the tea almost poured out.

"Anthony, do you have an interest in this waitress? why do you stare at her?"

Without feeling a bit embarrassed by the words, the young man called Anthony Lewis continued to study Zoey's face blatantly.

"Beauty, do you have a boyfriend?"

Zoey smiled and replied, "No, but I have a husband."

"Married at such a young age..." There was a hint of regret in Anthony's tone. His eyes are still fixed on Zoey.

"You are so beautiful that your husband is certainly not a match for you. How about if you get divorced and get together with me? I assure you that you will live a life of glory and prosperity."

"Okay, I'll go back and ask my husband."

As Zoey finished, she glanced at Charlie. Seeing that Charlie was expressionless and indifferent as if she was nothing to him, Zoey felt tears in the eyes. She hurried to lower her head to hide her expression.

There were four men and one woman in the room. Jealous of the beauty of Zoey, the young woman deliberately poured the hot tea on the back of Zoey's hand when she served the tea.

Ah...

Crying in pain, Zoey found the back of her hand burned. Olivia Grove laughed. "Sorry, it slipped."
