Chapter 3 Maria Thompson

Three years later.

The bus at rush hour was extraordinarily crowded, and the digital TV in the carriage was playing morning entertainment news.

"Jade Brown was officially discharged from the hospital at 9 a.m. on the 18th of this month. Jeremy Clark, the president of the Clark Group, accompanies her all the time. Jade has spent the last three years in the hospital due to Sophie Nelson's intentional attack against her. The award-winning actress is finally returning to the stage where she belongs. Jeremy declares that he will support Jade in every way he can. The romantic relationship between them is indeed touching."

Sitting in the seat, Sophie Nelson was now looking down, her head slightly bumping following the moving bus.

She was so close to the television that the broadcaster's voice was clearly audible to her even in the noisy background.

She lifted her head, revealing an ordinary face. She was wearing a pair of large glasses, thick bangs covering half of her little face. Her skin was dull yellow and her features were unremarkable.

She lifted one hand to adjust her glasses, and her sleepy eyes brightened up in an instant. Then she quickly tilted her head towards the window and twitched her lips.

Since she was leaning against the window, no one could see her expression at this moment. Otherwise, those who saw it would feel afraid.

Her expression was too eerie.

Though she was trying to curl up her lips into a smile, the gloom over her face was apparent, and a layer of coldness covered her facial features.

"It has been three years. You guys wait for me." Staring at the traffic outside from a higher position, the woman fell in thoughts.

Among the vehicles on the road, a silver-gray Maybach stood out. It was a stunning and well-designed sports car that looked distinguished, powerful, and classy, making the regular autos around seem dull.

However, though it was a superb vehicle, it could only be driven at low speeds during rush hour and endure the gaze of onlookers.

Those staring at it usually could only see a car like it in magazines. Thus, they were extremely curious to know who might be sitting in it.

Inside the Maybach, sitting in the passenger seat, a teenager was pressing his face against the window. The person driving the car had forbidden him to lower the window, so he could only observe what was happening outside through the dark-colored glass.

"Gosh!" the teenager suddenly shuddered.

"What's the fuss?" Asked the other man, whose contour of the face was clear-cut and hard.

His mellow, deep voice was tinged with a trace of deterrence.

The younger man calmed himself down. "There is a woman on that bus whose smile is so horrifying. I guess the weight of life is driving her crazy!"

The man was not interested in the teenager's exaggerated words. Noticing that the road had become much clearer, he sped the vehicle up and said in a cold voice.

"Josh Miller, behave well at school. If you..."

Before the man could finish his sentence, the teenager interrupted him by saying, "Uncle Charlie, I will behave definitely myself."

At the words, the golden-haired dog in the back seat stuck his head out at the teenager, sticking his tongue out and panting heavily.

Josh was taken aback and swiftly tilted his body to one side. "Oh, you! Kim!"

"Ho!" Charlie Flores sneered. "Even the dog doesn't believe in your words."

Josh, "..."

At Flowery City College.

The college was a posh private school belonging to the TB Group, whose students were primarily from wealthy and influential families and were flamboyant and arrogant.

Or, in other words, they were disobedient and undisciplined.

Looking at the newly reported guidance counselor, the director of teaching and discipline said meaningfully, "Miss Thompson, I'm afraid it's going to be hard for you."

"No worries." The ordinary woman looked docile and weak, a typical target to be bullied.

The director let out a sigh and looked at the woman's departing back.

He would not be surprised if his new colleague were going to be teased just like her previous counterparts by those naughty students.

The woman was called Maria Thompson.

Despite her weak appearance, she was actually a tough woman inside.

How could she allow anyone to push herself around?
