Chapter 8 Eight

The morning sun shines brightly through the window, Aiden open his eyes and check the time he sit up on his bed

His mind going back to what happened yesterday with Emily he grins happily he picked up his phone and dial her number she picked immediately her sweet voice sounded over the phone Aiden close his eyes as he feels her voice in his mind

"hello? Why are you not saying anything?"

"I'm just taking in your sweet voice into my subconscious" she laugh a little before responding

"Aren't you going to work?"

"Just woke up and decide the first thing to do is hear your voice"

"You are killing me with your sweet talks here"

"it's the truth, I have to get ready anyway will see you at work" he said and hang up the call

he put his phone now and gets up to take his bath when his phone rings he check the caller he pick up the call and went to the bathroom

"hello mummy" he said

"My dear son, how are you?"

"I'm good mum"

"You remember my birthday party right?" his mother's birthday! It almost skip his mind

"Make sure you are there no excuse ok" she said and cut the call

He drop the phone and the thought of seeing Alyssa makes him feel uncomfortable this is going to be awkward for them since they have not announce it to the public that they are not together.

Aiden sat down in his office in a meeting with designers for his mother's gift

Since she likes jewelleries so much he planning on getting her necklace and using that opportunity to get one for Emily even though her birthday is still far away, Jack came in and he decide to end his meeting with the designers

"Must you do this kind of things yourself you could have leave it for me or one of your secretaries to handle" Jack said after the designers left

"I want to oversee this myself it's important and I don't want any mistake"

"Your secretaries are capable of handling it perfectly you are just giving excuse"

"Why are you even here anyway? Shouldn't you be working?"

"You need to choose your suit for the party" he said and hand over a tablet to him

"Why is there so much suits to choose from anyway?"

"Mrs. Griffin ask me to make sure you are well dressed more than other young man of your age that will be there"

"So it's not just a birthday party it's a fashion show-off, just go with Ki ton" he said and hand back the tablet to him

"Is Emily here yet?"

"No! You've already asked more than five times, she will be here at three and it's just past twelve" he said and walk back to his office

"Arrh why is the time so slow today?" he said in frustration, he stood up and grab his car keys he can't wait any longer he will just go school her at school then.

The lecture was quite fun as Emily listen on the substitute lecturer was a lot good and understanding Emily wish he was the one taking them on the course and not their lecturer, all she does is give them bad marks and discourage them during lectures

The whole class laugh at the joke he told them and she joined in the laughter, a reflection flashed on her face and she turn to look at the direction she was shock to see Aiden outside the window he waved at her

"what are you doing here?" she mouthed to him taking care not to get caught

He gesture to her to come out but she ignored him and turn back to class, she look back few seconds later and he was no longer there

She wondered where he is she stretch her neck to see if she could still see him somewhere but she could not see anything she turn back to the class again not really concentrating she couldn't have seen an illusion

The lecturer phone rings and he excuse himself to receive it after he was done with the call he told them the class has to stop and there will not be any classes for today due to some situations

He left the class and the students start to talk among themselves about the kind of occurrence that could make the school stop class for the rest of the day.

Emily quickly went out of the class to search for Aiden she's sure she saw him back then

she look outside the window hastily she turn to leave but bump into someone she almost fell but was held back by a strong hand the person held her close to himself

"Watch where you are going lady" she look up and shout his name with excitement she immediately hug him and they remain that way for a long time

"Are you sure you are okay hugging me in front of all these people staring?"

She let go and saw students staring at them she quickly drag him away and took him to an room filled with stuffs,

"Where are we?" he asked looking around the room

"They store equipment here and no one comes here frequently"

"I can see that I mean why we are here?"

"To get away from the crowd" she said as she look for where to sit

"So you want to be alone with me" he said putting on a mischievous smile and move closer to her she move back a little from him

"You wish, I think you are the one who want me" she said crossing her hands over her chest and move a little close

"Then should I have a go here?" he said flirtingly and close the gap between them

He pull her to himself their bodies touching each other he gave her a kiss on her nose and move down to her lips

He took her lower lip, kissing her slowly, the kiss gave Emily goose bumps but she let him continue enjoying every bit of it, he stare deep into her eyes and his look send sensation to her body she was melting slowly in his hands

"Why can't I think about anything expect your lips" he said in a whisper

"We really shouldn't be doing this here, and I still have class..."

"I already ask for your remaining lectures to be cancelled for today"

"You cancelled the class, how did you...." He held her chin and tilt it raising her face high a little making her stop in her speech they both lock lips and enjoy the moment forgetting where ever they are.

He stopped the car a little bit away from the restaurant, it phone rang for the fifth time and he decide to switch it off, Jack has been disturbing him with calls he's sure he just want to nag again about where he was throughout the day

After he left school with Emily, he decided they go on a date instead of going back to the office they hang out all day and decide to come back just now it was already past ten but it felt like they didn't spend that much time together

"What time do you finish school tomorrow?"

"Well latest two and am going to the office after, I can't keep skipping work"

"You really don't need to worry about work your boyfriend is capable"

"Right, I forgot you are the boss, but still am going to work tomorrow"

"Ok fine do as you pleased, talking about tomorrow I want you to come with me to my mother's birthday party tomorrow night"

"Your mum? Tomorrow no way I can't"

"Why? You sacred?" she nodded "but you haven't met her yet and trust me she's cool"

"Don't you think is too early to meet your parent?"

"It's not ok, so tomorrow you are accompanying me to the party I will ask someone to help me pick you up tomorrow" she sighs and bid him goodbye and watch him leave

She walk home with the thought of how tomorrow will be she will need to buy a new dress since she doesn't have any dress good enough for the party.

Emily got home quickly from work the next day to prepare for the party, she haven't buy the dress which plan to buy and it already running

she thought of asking Lucy for one of hers since she have few good dresses she enter the house and met her in her usual position watching the television

"You have a package" she said before Emily could talk to her

"What package?" she point at the package on the table and Emily went to check the name of the sender

'For the party' was written on it she open it, there was a blue formal dress and the most beautiful shoes she has ever seen it match well with the dress

"Whoa" Lucy stand up and stare at the dress in admiration "who sent you this?"

"Someone, can you please do my make up?"

"Not until you tell me who gave you this beautiful things"

"I will tell you after you do my make up for me, deal"

The driver Aiden sent came to pick her up and they headed for the party she became nervous as they got to where the event is taking place

"Wait here I will go get "Mr. Griffin" the driver said and left few minutes later the door open and Aiden came in

"You look ravishing" he said immediately he saw her

"thanks"

He took her hands and enter the hall with her, all eyes went on them the instance they entered Emily felt like running back to avoid their gaze

But Aiden held her tight and help her walk forward with stripping due the nervousness she's feeling they went to wish her mother a happy birthday first and she doesn't seems to care about who she is at all

Although she was a bit relieve but she was disappointed, they greeted his father and his response was cold

Minutes later Aiden excuse himself to go speak with some people and she was left alone she decide to go eat something since she hasn't had dinner.

Alyssa stood at a corner and watch the two of them for a while

"So he really was going out with that girl" she thought as she sip her wine slowly her mind flash back to what happened two hours before the party

"You must do all you can to get Aiden back"

"But we already broke off the engagement do you think he will allow me close to him after all I did?" Her father landed her a slap and want to hit her more but her mother stop him

"You better find a way for you to be engage to him again or else you will no longer be my daughter" he said and walk out of the room

"You had better make yourself useful for the family and stop following that useless boy about" Mrs. Saunders warned and followed her husband, her mother came to meet her and help her sit

"Just make sure you get Aiden back tonight, he loved you for eight years and there's no way he will refuse you"

It seems like it won't be as easy as she thinks she will need to take that girl out, she will surely stand in her way

she walk over to him and call his name putting on a smile, and people started whispering

"Did they truly break off their engagement?"

"it seems so since Mr. Griffin brought another girl to the party"

Emily overheard them and wondered how they all knew, did they already announce it to the public her eyes search for Aiden and she saw him with Alyssa she hesitates first before walking to them.

"Long time no see" Alyssa said

"Is not really a long time"

"Are you uncomfortable with me, I just want us to be friends again, breaking up our engagement doesn't mean we can't be friends?" Aiden remain quiet not wanting to say a word to her she stretch out her hands to him

"friends?" not wanting to be rude he took her hand for a handshake, she suddenly pull him to a hug catching him unaware

Emily who was five steps away from them saw the scene and anger rose in her she move further to them

"Don't you think that hug is too much for a guy who already has his own girlfriend" she said and draw Aiden to herself breaking the hug

Alyssa look at her with a stony face Emily also return the look not caring about the people with them staring.

She can't let her intimidate her again this time if she tries anything with her she going to get it she thought determined as she come boldly at her.
