Chapter 9 FIRST MEETING PART THREE

As Shin entered the covered court, the scent of lavender immediately invaded her nostrils. Her nose is not that sense that she can instantly recognize the scent of any flower around the area but the thing is that she particularly can recognize the scent of lavender which can be because it is the scent that she typically uses especially with her bath soap.

Her skin is quite sensitive to bath soaps and the brand that she is using right now made a personalized bath soap for her with the scent of lavender, well she could honestly choose another scent but the thing is she is already used to the scent and that she feels like something is missing when she does not use the bath soap with the same scent. Not to mention that it is the only soap that could hide the scent of blood well to the point that it does not haunt her in her sleep anymore.

Other than the scent of lavenders, she also noticed how elegantly the whole place was arranged – it is fitting to be called an event for prestigious students. The whole place is filled with sparkling things and the theme is gold and black which made it even more elegant. Some other students would more or less not appreciate how the university administration and student council had arranged the place but to her, what they did is already commendable.

Although it may be because she is really not that choosy in the first place or rather it is because she does not give that much attention to how a place is designed but rather, she is focused on the flow of the program and also the food – the food is the most important thing in an event because it is the most expensive thing in an event and because it is necessary for the body to function. Well, although she has a lot of money, she is still pretty much practical about what she consumes and purchase – she makes sure that the things that she buys using her money is something that she needs and also is something worth it.

Why would she buy something that is not worth it in the first place?

She then roamed her eyes around her, looking for the right table to sit at, and luckily after a few seconds she already saw a table that is not really occupied by anyone and surely will not be occupied by anyone because it is on the far left corner of the covered court and no one would position themselves in that area – well, maybe there would but those people who would sit on such an area are considered to be people who do not want to mingle with others, in short, the introverts.

She then walked towards that table and when she already reached it, she immediately pulled the chair to sit down. The moment that she sat down, that is also the time that she crossed her legs and she even pulled out her phone. Shin started scrolling on her newsfeed on a social media platform and she cannot help but frown because all that she could see are posts of people in her university using the hashtag that the student council said that the participants of the university ball should use.

Well, it is not that she is using the said hashtag as well – it is just that on her social media account she had put the university as her present attending school, and automatically anything related to the university that she is attending will be shown on her timeline. And so, she had seen pictures of different people with their friends and because there is nothing else to see, she decided to turn off her cellular data she now locked her phone and she put it on top of the table.

Shin then crossed her arms in front of her chest and she looked at the crown in the middle she cannot help but roll her eyes subtly – she just cannot understand why a lot of people like to interact that much. Well, there is nothing wrong with interacting with other people however there are some who have exceeded the limits of being a social butterfly and that is what she deems to be not a good thing – having too many people who know you – basically how you act and everything else is not a thing that anyone should flaunt because that also means that they can attain something that can be used against the individual.

Shin believes in the saying that it is best if an individual would keep his or her circle small because quality should be prioritized more than quantity. And it is something that is being overlooked by a lot of people, especially the individuals whom she is looking at right now. She knows that some of them are socializing with other people – with specific people to gain something from them, it is either partnership with a project, an investment, or anything that could be of help to their family business and that could also boost their reputation to their family and make their parents recognize their abilities.

That has always been the case in every university that is filled with students that are sons and daughters of wealthy families. Being born into a wealthy family is honestly both a blessing and a curse, a blessing because the individual would just have to focus on himself or herself – that he or she does not have to worry about how would they be able to pay their bills, what will they eat and basically how will they survive. On the other hand, it is a curse in such a way that there are a lot of expectations that come with being born into a rich family and their goal in life should always be to pass the standards that has been set by their parents and of course to never bring disappointment to the family name.

But in Shin Alexandra's case, she is a woman who is not even using the surname of her father but rather she is using the surname of her mother when she was still a maiden. Legally, she speaking her father's surname is still tied with her however because of the strings that she pulled she was able to enroll in the university, apply for government identification cards, and other things using her mother's surname.

And so, because of that she is not really causing any disappointment to the Ferrell family name that is why even if she caused a ruckus it will not really affect her so-called father and brothers in one way or another, however, if the trouble that she will be causing or that she already caused reaches the majority of the people through whatever means possible then she is sure that when the time comes that she is to be introduced in the public as his daughter a lot of people will also instantly recognize her and that is the time that she will really ruin the reputation of her father – well, she honestly thought that it is not really a bad idea to do so.

"Settle down everyone and go look for your seats because the program is now about to start" a voice echoed around the covered court and automatically the students followed what the person have said and the students who are a while ago in middle are now looking for their seats and just like what Shin had thought a while back, there is really no one aside from her that actually choose the table on the far left corner.

And that is honestly a good thing because she has the table all to herself and that she will not have to listen to people who are trying to communicate with her or whatever they are talking about with their friends, She really just wants peace and quiet, and that she just wants to finish the event already so that she will be able to go home and sleep because as per her computation she only got roughly around four hours of sleep because of what happened last night and also she wasn't really able to sleep that much inside her car – it is quite uncomfortable for her.

"Your wine ma'am," someone said and as if on cue a waiter basically placed a wine right in front of her - it is actually a white wine, and to be honest, she is expecting it to be a red one because it has a lot more flavor, the white wine, on the other hand, is designed to be sweet and is easy to drink by the ladies without getting drunk no matter how man wine glasses they drink

Shin Alexandra then nod her head in response, the waiter left and that is the moment that she grabbed the wine glass and she is about to take a sip when she suddenly heard someone speak on her left not far away from her position.

"Are these seats taken?" that's what the question was like and automatically Shin Alexandra frowned because of what she heard.
