Chapter 9 Marry me Princess

I was exhausted that day and couldn't even take a breath. I was very tired after finishing all the meetings. I was sitting in my car and resting my head on the seat while closing my eyes.

"You look so tired, babe. Let me drive you home."

I was shocked listening to Eden's voice. How the hell did he get into the car??? He was wearing a mask. I turned around to see him. He asked me to shift to the passenger seat and took over the steering wheel.

"What are you doing here??? How did you get past the security???"

"That wasn't so difficult babe. Now shall we???"

I wasn't feeling any energy to ask anything else. He was driving and I was closing my eyes and god knows when I fell asleep.

I felt like I was in the air and I opened my eyes and was surprised to see Eden. He was lifting me in his arms and taking me upstairs.

I turned around to see but it was too dark. Where was I??? I was trying to figure it out but that's when I heard a loud sound of waves. No ways. How the hell I got here???

It was almost a 3-hour drive from my city to the nearest seashore.

"Why did you???"

My head is spinning now.

"Ssshhh. Calm down. You need this break, sweetheart. Close your eyes and take some rest. I am gonna go prepare dinner for you."

"But. Wait."

I held his arm after, while he was turning around, tucking me into bed.

He kissed my hand and sat there. As always, there wasn't enough light in the room but I was getting used to that now. His presence always made me always feel special. I couldn't see his facial expression but whenever he was staring at me, I felt his warmth.

I was getting attached to this man and I was scared too because all my life I had been left behind. Kicked out of my loved one's life. I didn't want that again. I was holding myself back but he was still trying to win my heart and, in my heart, I knew that I would never love anyone more than him.

"What ????"

He snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Nothing. Just stay with me."

I was holding his face and I was feeling his small beard. He hadn't shaved in two days. But I liked that. I was touching his eyes and his eyebrows were thick. I was touching his hair as usual and it was so silky and smooth. I used to run my fingers into his head whenever he was placing his head in my lap.

"That's enough exploration for now. You need to take a rest. You are exhausted, I know."

"No, I am fine now. "

"You know sometimes I want to hit your boss in the face for treating you like that. Just say it once and I will take him out of your life."

"Well, I would love that, but how are you planning to do that?"

"By killing him, of course. I am a spy. That's the best I do."

"Nice joke."

"I am not joking. I want to kill all those men who are treating you like that. Or have treated you like that."

"Oh really??? So what am I supposed to do after you go to jail??? To bring you good food during visiting hours???"

We started laughing at that and that's when he kissed my cheeks.

"I am not kidding."

"Are you out of your mind??? Please don't ever think of that. I do hate so many people in my life, but it doesn't mean I would like them dead."

"Trust me, I can arrange that if you want."

"Shut up Eden. I know many of them have treated me badly, but they are very important in someone's life. Like My Boss. Everyone in the office hates him. I hate him too. He is ruthless and cold-hearted, but he pays his employees three times more than any other organization in the country. And with that, even the office boy is earning enough to have a good life. "

"Oh come on..he would die and his brother would take over. I heard he is a nice guy. He is also very rich and kind-hearted too."

"How do you know that??? I had only heard from Jamie. But he told me he isn't interested in business or in taking over the company???"

"Yeah, that's true, but what choice would he have? I mean he would be the only heir."

I was thinking about my boss's family, whom I have never seen in the office.

"Hey, what are you thinking??? I am kidding. I am not gonna do anything like that. "

"I know. Forget everything now, tell me where did you go that day??? I called you and you didn't respond. Was everything alright???"

"Yeah, It was just some urgent work, but it's done and I am free for now."

"For now means???"

"I have a mission ahead and I have to leave the City for a few weeks. "

"What??? Weeks?? How many weeks???"

I knew he had a job, but after staying away from him for such a little time, I realized how much I had started to love him. I felt safe around him and I wanted him to stay with me.

"Perhaps 2 or 3, but I promise I will be back as soon as possible."

"But you just got back."

My joy of being with him suddenly vanished. I was feeling so gloomy. I wasn't in the mood to talk to him. He perhaps have noticed that and he held my hands again.

"What happened??? Did something happen when I wasn't there???"

"No, nothing, it's right."

"Just what??? "

I knew I was saying it too early but I didn't want to lose him. I knew he was the one for me. I didn't realize I was going to commit the biggest mistake of my life.

"I love you. I don't know how or when, but I think about you all the time. You make my life so peaceful. I want to stay with you for my life."

I was expecting him to say something but he was quiet. Sitting there without saying a word. I just felt his grip tighten on my hand.

"Eden."

I felt like he was not happy.

"I knew it was too early."

Before I reacted more, he placed his lips on mine and started kissing me crazily. I held his face in the palm of my hand and realized that he was crying. His cheeks were still wet.

He stopped after a while and kissed my hands.

"I can't tell you how happy I am. It's not too early, sweetheart. I have waited for years to hear this from you. I am so happy. I don't know how to express it."

"Really??? Then show me your face now."

He was quiet for a while.

"Well, I think it's fun now. Let's not see my face until we get married."

"What??? . marriage??"

This was happening too early.

He opened the drawer and I heard he was holding something and he opened it. He was proposing to me with a ring.

"Will you marry me??? I will make you the queen of my life."

"Yes."

He kissed my hands and I felt so happy with the ring on my finger.

"I will be back in two weeks most probably. We will get married as soon as I am back. Just be ready."

"But I haven't made any preparations.

"No need for that. Just give me a resignation from your job and I will take you with me to my house. You can start a new job if you want, but I don't like this company."

"But my Boss?"

"You have been working for him for years. I am sure you will find a way to quit the job. And listen, do curse him like you always wanted to on his face before leaving."

"But..."

"Trust me, I will handle the rest."
