Chapter 2 Visit with Family

Saturday came quickly. Mia stopped by her parents home where she grew up so she could unload her bags since she had planned to stay the night. She missed her parents terribly. Mia refused to give in and move back home until she thought she was in a serious relationship and ready to settle down so her family wouldn't question her.

When she pulled in the driveway she spotted the neighbor outside tending to her garden. Mia approached her and said "Hi Mrs. Carter, How have you been?" Happy to see her Lyla turned around and smiled and said "Oh my gosh, Mia! I'm great and I've missed your beautiful face. How are you?" Mia hugged Mrs. Carter in a warm embrace and told her how she'd been working at the same school for three years and she was doing great. That's when the question came.

"Well, Miss Pralin are you seeing anyone?" Mia turned red embarrassed to answer Lyla. She replied "Not right now."

Mia's first love and high school sweetheart was Nathan Carter. Yes, Carter as in the neighbor Mrs. Carter's son. Mia quickly walked back over to her parents home saying "See ya later!" As she retreated. Lyla giggled because she knew Mia was dodging the conversation.

Soon Mia approached her parents door and it flung open in excitement! "Mia is finally here!" Her mom Bethany had invited everyone over that is family & lives close by. They all were eager to celebrate Sara's engagement and also to see Mia back.

The celebration went on for several hours but an hour and a half after visiting with her parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins then Mia and Sara snuck off to get drinks together.
