Chapter 9 Something Special

"You're really interesting and amusing, Cherish." Hiro said, while grinning from ear to ear.

"Stop grinning like an idiot! Anyway, I just came here to deliver Grandma's newly-washed clothes. And you should do a great job on taking care of her! I'm watching your every move!"

Cherish was about to march outside the room when Hiro suddenly calls her name again.

"Cherish."

She wheeled around to look at him. She saw him smiling at her, as his eyes sparkled in amusement.

"Thank you so much for everything, Cherish. My grandmother and I owe you so much." Hiro sincerely thanks her.

"I'm doing all of these for Grandma Bien and not for you." Cherish answered in return. Afterwards, she quickly made her exit.

Meanwhile, Hiro can't seem to erase the smile on his face while thinking about Cherish. He turned to his grandmother who was to absorbed on watching television.

"She's a real feisty lady, Grandma. And I like it." he smilingly whispered.

The next day.

Cherish decided to bring breakfast for today. Eventhough the Chief Nurse told her that she's restricted to care for Grandma Bien for one whole week, she still tries to find some ways to check up on her from time to time.

Cherish noticed that Grandma Bien's door is opened. When she reached the doorway, she saw Hiro talking to someone, which is a man...

She was still contemplating if she's going to enter the room or not, but Hiro already saw her.

"Good morning, Cherish! It's so refreshing to see you in the early morning!" Hiro greeted happily greeted her.

Meanwhile, the other man stood up and looked at her. This man looks like he just walked out from a man's fashion magazine because he was dressed really well. Maybe he's really a model? And his eyeglasses looks really good on him!

"Well? Aren't you going to introduce me to your new girlfriend, Hiro?" the man asked, while looking so serious.

"Hah! I will never be his girlfriend, over my dead body!" Cherish immediately reacted.

"Sorry, I'm just kidding. By the way, introductions are in order. My name is Adam Lee. Hiro and I work together." Adam politely introduces himself.

Cherish took a deep, calming breath before she speaks again.

"My name's Cherish Montecarlo, and I am Grandma Bien's caregiver."

"Your name's Cherish, huh? You've got a pretty name as well." Adam said, while nodding in approval.

"I just came here to bring breakfast to Grandma. Is she alright? She didn't feel any pain or discomfort last night?" Cherish asked Hiro, in a civil manner.

"No, she actually slept like a baby last night." answered Hiro.

"Okay, that's good. I'm going to check on her again this afternoon." that's all Cherish said, then afterwards, she gave the tray of food towards Hiro, and she grimly marches off.

At the same time, Adam is giving Hiro a knowing look.

"Hey, what's with that look, dude?" Hiro quickly asks Adam.

"I like her." Adam suddenly announces.

"Who?" Hiro asked again, while looking confused.

"I like Cherish." Adam immediately answers.

"Dammit man! You already have a girlfriend!" Hiro stated, while looking annoyed.

"Let me finish, you idiot. What I meant was, I like Cherish for you because I have this feeling that you're compatible with each other, and you'll make a great couple." Adam explains his point.

"Oh, so you're trying to be a cupid now, huh? You know what, just go home and take a rest. Stop pestering me!" Hiro teasingly scolds his manager and his bestfriend.

But deep inside, he knows that he's starting to feel something special towards Cherish Montecarlo...

Once Hiro made sure that his grandma is fast asleep, he decided to take a walk at the spacious garden inside the Nursing Home to do a bit if stretching.

While he is doing some warm up exercises, she found Cherish at the entrance door. It looks like her shift is already over and she's about to go home...

At the same time, Cherish stopped on her tracks when she saw Hiro standing at the garden, while doing some stretching. Their eyes met, and Cherish was the first one to loom away.

Hiro started walking near her. Of all of the people that she can meet at the end of her shift, why does it have to be Hiro Matsuzaki?

"Hi, Cherish! Are you going home now?" Hiro smilingly asks her.

"Yes. I've never felt so stressed in my life since you came here." Cherish sarcastically spats out.

Much to Cherish's annoyance, Hiro just gave her a big smile.

"I'll take that as a compliment." he said in return, and he's affected by Cherish's sarcastic remarks.

"You are a weird man." Cherish said, while helplessly shaking her head.

"I can drive you back home so that you can take a rest as soon as possible." Hiro suddenly suggested.

Cherish gave Hiro a fake sugar-coated smile.

"Thanks but no thanks. I'd rather be in a bus alone and get stuck in the traffic than to be with you." she muttered.

"You never fail to amaze me, Cherish...And I've only felt this way with you." Hiro suddenly whispers at her.

Hiro's warm breath on her ear sent some shivers into her spine. It may sound strange, but she actually likes this feeling...

"Oh, Cherish! Why are you still here? I thought you've gone home?"

Hiro and Cherish immediately moves away from each other when they heard Nurse Feliza's voice.

Cherish heart is beating so fast, and she's having a hard time to breathe, as if she ran in a full marathon. She tries to regain her composure and she smiled at her Auntie Feliza.

"Oh, Cherish and I were just talking about Grandma Bien. She's telling me a lot of things about her. I was also thanking her for being sweet, kind and warm towards my Grandma." Hiro didn't have a choice but to say a white lie towards Chief Nurse Feliza.

"Is that so? Does that mean that you're good friends now?" Auntie Feliza smilingly asks.
