Chapter 7 That Fateful Meeting

"I appreciate that. Thank you." Hiro sincerely smiled at her.

"Oh, I have to go now. I'll just call someone to put an extra bed in Grandma Bien's room." Nurse Felice relayed.

Nurse Felice gave Grandma Bien one last look, then afterwards, she left the room.

Hiro then pulled a chair beside his grandma's bed and sat on it. He gently touched his grandma's hand.

"I'm finally here, Gran. And I'm sorry for leaving you alone for a long time. Don't worry, I'll stay with you for a few days, and I will try to make up to you." Hiro gently whispers.

He also promised to himself that he will talk to Cherish to personally thank Cherish for being his grandmother's carer and her bestfriend as well.

And before he knows it, drifted into a deep sleep because he was so tired. But he still didn't let go of his grandma's hand...

The next day:

Cherish woke up very early as usual. She didn't want to be late at work, she wants to see Grandma Bien rightaway, to check her overall health condition.

She quickly gets showered and dressed. She just grabbed a sandwich at a nearby coffee deli, then she made her way to work.

A few moments later, Cherish arrived at the Nursing Home. She quickly walk towards the locker room to put all her things first.

Cherish is currently walking at the hallway to start her shift. She curiously frowned when she saw some of the female staff excitedly talking to each other. Liberty is there as well, and her eyes are sparkling with excitement.

"Good morning, guys! What's going on? Why do all look so excited?" Cherish bombarded them with questions.

All of the girls stared at her.

"You're so lucky, Cherish!"

"I'm so jealous of you!"

"This is your lucky day!"

Cherish puzzily frowns at the girls.

"Huh? What are you all talking about?" she asked them again, while looking confused.

"Okay, calm down girls. Let me do the explaining. Cherish, the girls are really excited because you'll get the chance to talk to one of the famous and let me add---gorgeous--- Hiro Serizawa! Every girls are willing to give you everything just to be in your place!" Liberty, her closest friend tries to explain the situation.

"Hiro Serizawa who?" Cherish doesn't have any idea who he is.

Liberty was about to continue talking but he wasn't able to do so when they heard their Chief Nurse's voice.

"And what's this commotion all about?" they heard her voice behind them.

All of the girls became silent, while nervously looking at their Boss.

"Good morning, Chief Nurse Felice." they all said in unison.

"Good morning. I really don't know what's happening, but I'm glad you're finally here, Cherish. Let's go to my office. I need to tell you something." Nurse Felice informed Cherish, in a mysterious manner.

Although Cherish is still confused about everything, she just nodded in agreement.

"Yes, Boss." she replied.

"Follow me, please." the Chief Nurse ordered.

Cherish gave her colleagues one last look, then afterwards, she trails behind the Chief Nurse to go to her office...

"Auntie, what's going on here? All of the girls are acting weird this morning..." Cherish asked, as soon as they arrive at the office.

"Well, it's all because of you, Cherish." Aunt Felice suddenly stated

"W-What? Me? What does it have to do with me? What did I do?" Cherish asked numerous questions.

"Relax, Cherish. You didn't break any rules or anything. It's just that..." Nurse Felice's voice suddenly faltered. She looks like she's thinking of the right words to say.

"Auntie, what's wrong?" Cherish asked again, while getting more and more nervous.

"I called Grandma Bien's grandson yesterday and told him about what happened last night. He's actually here right now, and he wants to talk to you." she informs her.

Cherish's eyebrow raised a fraction after she heard about Grandma Bien's grandson. At last, after going on a "Missing in Action" status, he finally appeared infront of his grandmother...

"Oh, finally! The great grandson is here. If you didn't tell him about what happened to Grandma Bien yesterday, I doubt it if he would magically appear to see his beloved grandmother." Cherish said, while sounding sarcastic.

"Cherish, please behave. Please treat him in a polite and casual manner. There's no need to be sarcastic. He just wants to talk to you to say thank for what you've doing for his grandmother." Nurse Felice tries to calm her down.

Cherish took a deep, calming breath before she spoke again.

"Alright, Auntie. I will do this for you and Grandma Bien." she finally said.

Nurse Felice nodded in approval, while looking relieved.

"Thank you, dear. So, shall we go meet him, then? He's waiting at Grandma Bien's room." she suddenly announced.

"Do I have a choice?" Cherish muttered under her breath.

Cherish reluctantly follows behind Nurse Felice. A few minutes later, they finally reached Grandma Bien's room. She is now finally going to meet "the grandson."

"Good morning, Grandma Bien and Hiro... Did you have a good sleep last night?" Nurse Felice smilingly greeted the two.

Cherish's eyes secretly surveyed the man who is talking with Aunt Felice. So, this is the "invisible" grandson of Grandma Bien. His eyes sparkled while talking to her Auntie. He looks really clean, prim and proper.

He got a straight nose. His nose fits perfectly with the shape of his face. He also got thin lips, and a chiseled jawline. No wonder all the girls are going crazy over him.

He can really kill with his looks.

"Hello, Cherish. My name is Hiro Serizawa and I'm so pleased to have finally met you."

Cherish snaps out from her reverie when she heard that baritone voice.

She tries to put all of her attention to him, and just like what she promised to her Aunt, she was civil and polite.

"A pleasure to meet you." she intentionally gave out short answers.
