Chapter 5 The Next Morning

Alyssa woke up and her knees were sore and she felt extremely cold but very warm to the touch. She was trying to gather herself when her handsome husband Noah walked into the study but one look at his handsome face she noticed he wore a very grim look.

When she noticed him she felt relieved that he would hear her side of the story but, Noah looked at his wife void of emotion and asked her "have you learned your lesson yet?"

Alyssa was stunned at what she heard mixed with her dizziness she was lost in a quick daze. After a few moments Alyssa shook her head yes and said "I have learned my lesson and it will not happen again". Noah stated "good to hear." his phone rang and he answered it and said he would be right there and hung up. Noah continued "I have to head to the company and oh, Alyssa be sure to apologize to Chole before breakfast" he then turned around and proceeded out to head to the office.

Alyssa was hurt and angry her husband Noah did not believe her nor did he show her any compassion when his grandfather had her kneel all night in the cold or when he came in to see her in the morning. Alyssa went upstairs to her room and could tell she had a fever with her reflection when she looked at herself in the bathroom mirror all she saw was her pale face and flushed cheeks. She took some fever reducers and grabbed her 2 large suit cases and packed her important belongings. Alyssa pulled out her laptop and drafted up a divorce agreement. She made a phone call with tears in her eyes and her voice asking to be picked up right now if possible and disconnected the call.

Alyssa took a last look around and looked at her and Noah's wedding photo where she is smiling and Noah stood their with a stoic expression above their bed that she placed there with their initials on each side of the huge picture and she took a deep breath, grabbed her suit cases, and left the room.

On her way to the front door Chloe and Nancy walked in and stopped and asked "Alyssa where are you going. Going on a luxurious trip by yourself with my families money?" Alyssa stated "I'm leaving" and proceeded to walk out the door.

Noah's sister Nancy scoffed as said "as if, you are just wanting us to pity you huh but aren't you forgetting something?" Alyssa turned and stated "I've learned my lesson and will never make that mistake again and turned to leave." Nancy said to Chloe "Alyssa can't go to far without my family's money".

Alyssa turned to Nancy and looked her in the eyes and told her "I never needed or wanted your families money. You should stop spewing nonsense and look in the mirror you will see someone who has never worked a day in her life." With that Alyssa turned and proceeded out of the front door.

Nancy stood their appalled and said "you.. Alyssa just you wait. I make it to where you wish you were never born!"
