Chapter 3 3

Dad seats me down on the bed and sat next to me.

Dad swore, he had no idea what was happening.

Everything changed the minute he too met the groom I would be getting married to.

That doesn't make any sense.

I don't think my parents will tell me the truth.

Unfortunately, mom interrupted, "dear, get dressed and come downstairs,".

"Yes, everyone is waiting,". Dad gets up and walked to the door, mom followed right after he left.

I know,

I loathed getting dressed for a reception and with a husband, I know nothing about. What can I do?..

"Edna?".

I came downstairs as soon as I got dressed in my reception gown.

Tina called me. She was at the bar with some of the bridal trains.

I sat down, and a waiter passed by with a glass of champagne on his tray, I rose to grab it when someone else called me.

"Edna, dear, please come,"..... Mrs. Sara. Hansel mom said.

I growled to myself, before going to meet her. She points to the chair at the podium.

"Go sit down with my son,".

She instructs.....

Mom passed behind her back.

She gave me a look and seeing that it compelled me to go over to the podium to seat down.

At the seat. Hansel was seated there. He take his head away the second he saw me approaching him.

I sat down.

Across the hall I met both my parents talking with Hansel parents, he sees that too.

They both were in a state of argument. I want to go break them up, however, Hansel just grabbed my hands and pulled me away without anyone knowing a place.

The store room.

"You can't be seizing my hands whenever you like it,". .. I said and pushed him away. He slammed his back across the wall.

"Whoa! Says the girl, who got engaged to one person and went on marrying another, you destroyed my life,"..... Hansel takes his back away and pointed directly at me.

I sensed he was angry.

Like what the hell does he even mean, anyone who has the right to get angry should be me and not Mr. Imposter here, staring such sicking gaze at me.

I seized a step closer to him

We locked eyes and I said.

"Look, whatever that's happening! I have no idea, but If you do, then tell me, what's going on!".......

Hansel looks at the door before taking another look at me.

Does he say if I do want to know the truth?... I shook my head, anxiously waiting for his response.

"Yes, tell me what I need to know, and don't even think of lying to me,". I sounded irritated.

Hansel takes his time before responding. He Inhaled and said.

I got to understand that, I was firstly selected for his elder brother but in the process, he left on the day of the wedding, today!. My husband left me on the day of our wedding?...

How's that possible?...

"So you see Edna, my elder brother left you on the day of your wedding, he didn't want to get married to you, he left and because of my parent's reputation and that of my family, I was compiled to get married to you,". He walks close, "And yes, I am hansel, and my brother used my name and that made it, easy to get everything done,".......

We locked eyes.
