Chapter 5 Meeting his cliques

Seeing Kaius step out of the mansion, a servant soon got the carriage ready to stand in front of the doors where Kaius stood and Aeryn who stood behind him.

Having not told her where they were heading to even after asking, Aeryn didn't bother asking again as she didn't want to be receiving a cornered answer to her question.

Sitting in the carriage. Aeryn pulled the strand of her hair behind her ear carefully, trying to tame the erring strands of her hair. Kaius hadn't informed her about going out with him to anywhere infact she hadn't even set her eyes on him since the sunset, and she hadn't even bothered combing her hair this morning as she thought she will be home all day.

Kaius who was sitting in front of Aeryn with his legs crossed, had one of his hand supporting his jaw while the other rested on his side as he stared at her amused. Her brows were contoured slightly as she patted the hair strands of her hair. When her eyes mistakenly met his reflection, she cleared her throat awkwardly, placing her hand back on her lap. The other time he was surprised by the statement she made, he hadn't expected her to react. He presumed she was beginning to come out of her shell. It amused him of how minc she was and at the same time bold. She was like a surprising specimen to him which he would love to experiment on.

The journey was a short one which took close to twenty minutes before the carriage was pulled over.

Aeryn walked along side kaius as he approached the door. He didn't have to knock as the butler opened the door rather too quickly. She wondered to whom residents they were visiting that she had to come with the Lord.

"My Lord, My lady" the butler bowed.

"Madame has been expecting you. She's at the garden with the rest"

Kaius nodded and walked towards the direction which took close to twenty minutes before the carriage was pulled over.

Aeryn walked along side kaius as he approached the door. He didn't have to knock as the butler opened the door rather too quickly. She wondered to whom residents they were visiting that she had to come with the Lord.

"My Lord, My lady" the butler bowed.

"Madame has been expecting you. She's at the garden with the rest"

Kaius nodded and walked towards the direction which Aeryn presumed to be the garden. They were three figures sitting around the table. Two male and a female. The garden had a rectangular table surrounded by two sofas and two couches each on the opposite side.

The figures sitting around the table hadn't noticed them walk in as they were immersed in whatever they were doing.

They went closer to the table they were sitting on and all eyes turned on them. Aeryn felt immediately worried by the intense that they were giving them. And her hair was close to being a total mess. Damned kaius didn't tell her, she was going to meet with his friends and brought her here like this.

"And look who finally showed up, you love to keep people waiting huh??" One of the ginger head male who was sitting on the table spoke. Kaius smirked and sat on the couch, which Aeryn followed suit sitting beside him.

"And this must be Aeryn??" The ginger head who seems to be the only one talking so far asked again

"Yes, she's Aeryn. My wife." The Lord's voice resounded pulling her out of her thoughts.

"This is Duke Damon Haven," he introduced the ginger head male.

"This is Duke Leonard Hensley." He motioned towards the browned haired male who seems a lot more quite.

"And that's lady Dera Knox." He introduced the last lady who gave her a little smile.

Too be sincere they were all beautiful creatures just like the Lord. And the lady , she- Aeryn didn't even hold a candle towards her ethereal beauty.

She had this bold aura oozing from her, something she totally lacked. And she seemed to be the only woman in their clique.

The butler arrived with tea and some biscuits what they were all served with.....

They discussed random things, while Aeryn sat chipping in little things when she was asked.

"Uhm Aeryn can I speak with you privately" it was the bold lady Dera Knox who asked. Aeryn gave a look to her husband who nodded for her to go on.

"Of course" she answered and followed her out of the garden

The table they just left became so serious as they was just limiting what they said in front of the human.

"Are you going to tell her or keep her in the dark, Kaius??" Leonard asked, he was no certain of what Kaius was thinking accepting the request of cabinet members. He was so sure they could be a way to maneuver and get out of the situation but it seems he was a bit interested to have a taste of marriage after all.

"Well I don't know, but I have my guesses about her. She won't freak out for too long when the truth is out. Besides I feel she's not even Human or .... " Kaius spoked non challant. The two figures stared at him wide eyed

"Not human??. Then what's she. She doesn't seem to be like us. Or are they other creatures lurking around??"

Back to where Aeryn stood with the lady. Lady Dera looked closely into Aeryn's eyes. Her eyes peering against hers

" What are you?" Dera questioned. Aeryn stared at her surprised by the question. The question sounds absurd

"W- What am I?! I don't understand??

"Sorry I was just joking around with you" Dera said, Aeryn let out a breath she didn't even know why she was holding in.

Dera spoked of random things and Aeryn couldn't help but admire her confidence. She wondered why Kaius so a beautiful woman like her in front of him and decided to marry her. She was just a plain possession of her rich father to gain more popularity and belong to the higher class. Being quite of a noticer. She had seen the look on Dera's face when she was speaking to Kaius it was quite different from the look she gave to the other men. She was in love with her husband!! She didn't even feel a pinch of jealousy instead she pitied her. Did she have no iota of feeling or possession towards her husband that she didn't care if someone had a burning love towards him
