Chapter 4 Strange dream

The book is written in Victoria era setting but doesn't stick to the fact. You will find some few changes that has been added to fit in the story. So don't be surprised if you see anything weird just remember that this is a historical-romance- fantasy book

Aeryn woked up to a dark world. The place seemed unfamiliar and it was given the chills. "Hello!! Anybody here?" She called out.

"Ahh" she had a loud scream from a particular direction. She wondered what was that, was someone being beating.

She entered the room. The room looked nothing less to a house in an artifact manor.

Aeryn walked near the table and pulled the empty drawer. They were patches of blood on the floor. A trail of blood leading to the bathroom.

Her breathing' became laboured. The place was shrill and spine chilling. She followed the trail of the blood leading to the bathroom.

She saw someone - a woman gasping for air. Her eyes widened at the sight of a young woman probably of her age as she gasped for air with warm liquid spread near her body, with blood around the back of her head and neck.

Aeryn sat down beside the the woman

"A- Are you alright? Where's this place?"

The woman tried speaking but she went limp on the floor..

"Aeryn! Aeryn! " Kaius voice resounded waking the shaking Aeryn up.

Aeryn's eyes flunged open, her eyes hollow .

"Are you alright??" Kaius asked

A tear escaped from her eyes.

"It's just a dream" kaius said amidst giving her water. She couldn't believe she experienced such realistic dream. It took her time to steady her breath as she was frantically panting from the fearful nighmare.

"Thank you" she muttered almost silently taking a sip from the water.

"What was your dream about?" Kaius his hand rubbing her back soothingly

"They was this particular room, I don't think I have seen it before, it looked like something in a manor. They was trail of blood and a lady, I don't know" she trailed in frustration.

Kaius wondered why she was having this dream was she in any way related to.... No that can't be or can it.......

"It just a dream" he said and patted her back gently. In some minutes, she fell asleep again.

When she woked up the next morning, Barbara and Reese were already in the room but they was no sign of Kaius. Her mind drifted to what happened last night while they helped her get prepared for the day

Barbara and Reese helped her take her bathe and helped her got dressed.

A thought struck her head, she wondered who that woman in her dream was. If she could just get a paper and pencils maybe she could try recollecting her face. Something deep in her mind told her it wasn't just a dream, it felt more like a lost memory.

"The Lord's aunt wants you to join her for breakfast, my lady"

Her eyes widened, she was actually expecting this to happen. Aeryn wondered if Kaius was going to join them - probably not. She even wondered if he ever has any food to eat.

"Lead the way" Aeryn responded.

She was led to the large diner at another part of the castle, while taking a tour she hadn't realized they was another different part located in the castle.

But that wasn't what bothered her right now. It was that they were four people seated on the table their gaze directed to was her. She felt uncomfortable by the excessive stares.

They were two girls seated on the table who looked to be around her age gap, with Kaius aunt and another man who looked to be of the Lord's age.

"Good morning" she greeted with a slight bow

"Morning dear, hope you slept well. Come sit." Aunt Belinda replied gesturing for her to sit on the chair and join them. Aeryn smiled slightly and sat close to the two girls who she assumed to be the aunt's children as they had a noticeable resemblance to each other.

"Everyone meet your cousin's new wife - uhm - Aeryn, Aeryn this are your in laws," Aeryn gave a small smile. She wasn't expecting the castle to be housing other people as she hadn't crossed paths with anyone since yesterday.

"That's Ann and Jane, my daughter's. They are both fraternal twins." One of the twin gave a small smile while the other held an unexpresionless face. "And this is Sebastian, my first son" . Oh so this is the Sebastian that got kaius angey she wondered what the deal was with them.

"Nice meeting you Aeryn" Sebastian said throwing her a flirtatious smile which she didn't fail to notice.

Various delicacies of food were brought inside the dining room. And Aeryn felt her mouth water at the aroma she was percieving.

So far, aunt Belinda seemed nice and accommodating but she couldn't say so for the rest. They ate the "royal breakfast" in silence.

Kaius walked to the diner after he was told that Aeryn was summoned by his aunt. One thing he sure didn't want is for that pesky cousin of his to set his eyes on Aeryn.

"Brother Kaius" the twin who didn't spare a glance at Aeryn called drawing the attention of everyone on the table. Jane though very quiet had this impeccable attachment to the Lord and her face frantically lightened up at his presence.

"Kaius?. It's surprising you came to the diner today. It's been ages since we saw you your presence any where close to this place." Aunt Belinda said, surprised reigning on her face.

"I heard my wife was here so I came to get her Aunt. Good morning to you too"

If it there was one thing Kaius should be known for it was his extremely sharp tongue and stubborn in nature.

Sebastian snorted and stood up, walking out of the table.

Aeryn been new here felt like she was slightly the cause for the almost disruption of the breakfast. She wondered the reason why the Lord would have issues with his own cousin, it sounds uncalled for though she hadn't even heard the reason. But family comes first doesn't it.

Jane seems the least bothered about the family charade as she focused on her meals, this scenario was always normally occurring when those butt head meets.

Kaius rolled his eyes at Sebastian's actions, he turned to Aeryn and said

" Are you done eating??" She nodded her head even though they was still some left overs left. She has lost her appetite, thanks to her husband's disruption

After losing his parents in a not so good way. Aunt Belinda was the only one who he took as his family, he gave them shelter in his palace. Because they lost theirs in an attack - a fatal one.

Though he and Sebastian were cousins they never were on good terms. A sudden memory flashed through Kaius head, he closed his eyes. And took a deep breath in.

He leaned over at his cousin, jane and lowered a kiss on her cheeks. And said to Aeryn

"Let's go" Aeryn bowed again before following Kaius. Seeing him walking through the hall and towards the entrance of the mansion, she asked him,

"Where are we going?"

"To hell, are you going to try running away?" Kaius replied with a smirk on his face. Aeryn faced palm herself surprised at his cornered answer to her question.

"Is this how you always reply to a straight forward question?, It wasn't even that had to comprehend"
