Note: The book is written in Victoria era setting but doesn't stick to the fact. You will find some few changes that has been added to fit in the story. So don't be surprised if you see anything weird just remember that this is a historical-romance- fantasy book.
We will tell the Lord that you are ready", the maid said to Aeryn then left. Her hands due to nervousness started sweating profusely.
Different worst scenarios flashed through Aeryn's head and her heart shivered in fear. It was getting hard to steady her breath. She waited for what seemed like hours when it was just few minutes.
The door to Kaius chamber opened and he stepped in. He had changed into more comfortable, and his hair looked disheveled and wet, he probably just had his shower.
He walked towards the bed where Aeryn was sitting. She gulped unintentionally, this beautiful man walking towards her made her felt uneasy. It didn't help that she was starving and probably couldn't think well due to hunger. She was surprised that no one cared about food in this palace
"Aren't you hungry?" Kaius asked
"No I'm not my Lord" her stomach grumbled at the same time and she laughed an awkward laugh.
"Seems like your stomach doesn't agree with that" he said a smirk plastered on his handsome face.
"I will get the maids to get you dinner" kaius said the usual smirk not wiping of his face. He was amused at the timid and scared look on his bride face. He wondered if she was scared for the obvious reasons or the rumors surrounding him.
Kaius?? Someone called behind him, he knew that voice ever so well- Sebastian.
"I heard you got a new wife, congratulations cousin".
"Though I'm not quites sure as to if she knew what we are, what you are.!"
"Or you are just going to keep her in the dark like you did with Mansi"
Kaius anger skyrocketed at the mention of the Mansi. Kaius stepped closer to him his height towering against his
"Stay out of my business, or you might regret it. Just a brotherly reminder." Kaius dusted Sebastian's clothes like they were dust in it and patted his shoulder with a smirk gracing his lips. He turned and left the presence of "his" cousin.
Sebastian's eyes flickered for a second and it turned deep red, with an obvious anger on his face.
After eating her dinner, Aeryn laid on the bed at night, she looked at the sky through the window next to her bed. Kaius had stepped out of the chamber while she was eating, she wondered if he was going to perform the so called "tradition" like the maids said. Well he probably won't. That's a relief for her, it was something that was unavoidable but she will just enjoy the bliss while it lasts.

In the Lord of gravesend study stood kaius in between the crook of a girl's neck, he had his back against the wall he had evident blood shot red eyes, a Stark contrast to his normal grey eyes. Kaius licked his lips as he pulled away from the girls neck. Looking straight in her eyes he compelled her
"Forget what happened. Leave,"
The girl walked away from there as if she hadn't just spent a moment with the Lord while Kaius made his way to the chamber of where his wife was.
He found her lying sprawled on the bed almost shivering. Gravesend was known for its extreme weather conditions and she wondered why she didn't bother to use a duvet. He got a blanket and placed it on her, this was something he has never done on the whole of his existence, this was the first. He gazed at her tiny figure on the bed. Aeryn- he just don't know but he finds her amusing, like she was some sought of investigation he had to discover.
He closed his eyes, in a bit of frustration. Before leaving the room.
The following day, Aeryn worked up to a blanket on her body and she wondered if Kaius helped her with
She wondered if he even slept on the bed, as she was awake at late nights waiting for his presence. The two maids which helped her got dress yesterday brought breakfast which she was extremely grateful for.
The two maids; Barbara and Reese were actually great company. Though she was comfortable been in the room because she was used to it, they opted to show her around the castle which she didn't decline after all a strawl wouldn't be that bad and her husband was no where to be found. She wondered if this was how he was always busy even as early as the morning sky.
The castle was a lot bigger and beautiful on the inside, she was astonished by this imperial perfection. In her town Belfast, the Lord's castle wasn't up to the one- quarter of the one she was in, the Lord of gravesend does have a good taste.
Barbara told her that they was a big libraryy in the castle, being an ardent lover of books, though her dad only allowed her to study things that would improve her feminine knowledge. Books was one of the things that kept her company, next to food and her hands maiden.
They got to the extreme large library. The tall walls of the library were lined with bookcases that reached the roof. Despite the lack of space left to place new books, it already seemed like it had all the books in the world.
The Lord must enjoyed reading books to have all this stock kept here, they might actually have a common interest after all.
Before returning, she took a book from the shelf. It might as well just be her last book, no one's certain of the next day after all.
Reese served her lunch. Aeryn she ate to her hearts contempt. Though she was worried about not seeing the Lord since she woke up. She then went back to bed and read the book before going to sleep again. It was obvious to her that she was procastrinating but she just couldn't fight the exhaustion she was feeling at the moment.
