Chapter 2 I was going to teach you a lesson, Daphne!

Daphne was still wide-eyed at Hector's words. "You insolent bastard! How dare you ask me to replace your woman! Lemme go, you bastard!"

But instead of letting go, Hector brought Daphne's hands together above her head and held her down.

"Stop acting like an honorable woman, Daphne! Aren't you used to it? After all, I'm much more powerful than my father and you'll be more satisfied with me!"

"You are so disrespectful, Hector! Let me go or I'll scream to let everyone know that you're trying to abuse your own stepmother!"

"Oh, I'm so afraid to hear that, Daphne!" Hector grinned scornfully in front of Daphne's face.

They were still staring intently at each other when the door of the room was suddenly violently opened.

"I heard you guys making noise again, huh? And what are you trying to do?" An old man screeched who looked wide-eyed in shock.

Hector and Daphne immediately turned their heads together to stare at the old man.

Daphne immediately fell silent, looking at Victor, while Hector immediately laughed sarcastically at his father.

"Oh, here comes the defender, your beloved husband!" Hector glanced sarcastically at Daphne as he rose to his feet.

Hector stepped closer to his father and replied casually. "Your young wife seduced me!"

"I did not!" Daphne defended herself as she got up from the bed and straightened herself.

"Don't talk nonsense, Hector!" Victor reprimanded sternly.

"I'm not talking out of my ass! That's the truth! Your wife is cheap and you're... no better!" Hector joked scornfully.

Victor couldn't control his temper and glared. "Watch what you say to your father, Hector!"

"Father? You've stopped being my father since you cheated on us! You let your mistress live in this house and made my mother suffer until she died in grief!" Hector exclaimed in a vengeful tone.

"I hate you, Victor Andino! That's why I'm not willing to set foot back in this house but... a ridiculous piece of news makes me very curious..."

Still in his cynical, snarky style, Hector turned his gaze to Daphne and traced her body with his gaze until she stiffened.

"Victor Andino married his own nurse! A very beautiful young woman but who knows what foul plans are in her brain!"

Daphne could only hold her breath hearing this, but she chose not to respond.

Seeing Daphne's silence, Hector stepped closer to her as he stared at her intently.

Don't know how to explain it, but Hector really hates Daphne, and Hector would never be willing to have his mother's rightful property drained away by that woman.

That was the main reason why Hector came back. Victor threatened that Hector would not get a penny of his inheritance if he did not return.

Of course, Hector didn't really want wealth. He himself was a successful entrepreneur who had developed his own business in Singapore, where he had been living.

But he swore on his life that he would protect his mother's rights.

"You know, Daphne! I hate sanctimonious women like you! You!" Hector pointed right at Daphne's chest before he turned and pointed at Victor. "And you too! I hate you both!" Hector concluded before he grabbed his own shirt, put it on, and stepped out of his own room.

Daphne was silent for a long time as she stared at the closed bedroom door before she glanced irritably at Victor.

"Are you satisfied, old man? Are you satisfied with torturing me like this?" Daphne growled in annoyance.

"Torturing? I never tortured you, Daphne! I made you an offer and you took it! So just do your job properly or I'll stop your mother's treatment immediately!" Victor threatened mercilessly. "Besides, never forget that I'm not paying you to flirt with Hector, Daphne!"

Daphne gaped at that. "I told you that I didn't do it! Hector took me to his bed just to scare me and insult me! You should know who it was all because of!"

Victor raised his eyebrows. "Is that so? Whatever the reason but I don't want to see anything like that happen again! Remember that! And one more thing, Daphne! I don't like your attitude now! One year of being my nurse you were so obedient, but three months of being my wife, you became wild and defiant! Bring back the old Daphne! You used to be more manageable!"

"Never, old man!" Daphne snapped with emotion in her voice. "With all that's happened in the three months I've been a wife, don't expect me to be as obedient as I was before! I'm just going to do things my own way and after this is all over, I swear I never want to see you or your family again, Victor Andino!" Daphne hissed sternly before she too left Victor.

With annoyance, Victor finally chose to shut himself in his room and even skipped breakfast the next day.

"Isn't my dad come to breakfast this morning? He's usually the first to sit here!" asked a young woman named Angelina, who was sitting alone in the dining room that morning.

"Mr. Victor asked for his breakfast to be brought to his room this morning!" A housemaid replied.

"Oh, okay!" Angelina said briefly as she grabbed her spoon.

But before Angelina could start her breakfast, a woman approached her and startled her.

"Tell me what you're withdrawing this much money for, Angelina?" Daphne exclaimed as she slammed the company's withdrawal receipt document right in Angelina's face.

Angelina was a young woman the same age as Daphne, the child of Victor's affair with his former secretary Diana.

Although Victor was finally convinced that Angelina was not his biological daughter, Victor was already unable to get rid of her because the cunning Diana seemed to have many ways to bring Victor down and seize Victor's property. That's why Victor was always cautious of the snake woman and asked Daphne to get rid of her slowly.

"Can't you be polite to me, Daphne?" Angelina exclaimed as she rose to her feet to face Daphne. "So, what if I took the company's money? I'm Victor Andino's daughter too! I have a right to my father's money too!" Angelina blatantly confronted Daphne.

"It's not about rights, Angelina! But there are rules for withdrawing company money! Even as a director you can't just take money for your own personal use! You already get your own salary every month for working there!"

"Damn you, Daphne! You cut the directors' salaries including mine and my mom's! You're making all these new rules like you're the one in charge now just because my dad married you! Do you think we can live on such little money, huh?"

"Everything I do is for the company, Angelina! You've made three big withdrawals like this in the last three months and if you keep it up, you'll bankrupt the company!"

Angrily, Angelina wagged her finger at Daphne, but a man's voice was heard first.

"If Angelina can't use company money, then who can, huh? You? You cut the directors' salaries so you can take it for yourself, am I right, Daphne?"

She turned her head in shock as Hector suddenly appeared and looked at her fiercely.

Hector stepped closer to Daphne and grabbed her arm roughly.

"You know I'm sick of all the noise you make every morning, Daphne! You do realize that you're not the only one living in this house, huh? You really need to be taught a lesson so that you think a thousand times before making a scene like this again!"

Without paying any attention to everyone, Hector pulled Daphne roughly to the swimming pool at the back of the house, and Angelina followed him curiously.

"Let me go, Hector! What do you want?" Daphne continued to struggle, but her legs were forced to follow Hector to the pool.

"Didn't I tell you I was going to teach you a lesson, Daphne! This is your punishment for being so pretentious!"
