Okay, forget that he was absolutely, stunningly handsome.
He walked in confidently, with some other men trailing behind him - they looked as if they might work for him or they were just very aware of him. The man was wearing a black business suit, with a white button up underneath and a black tie to match. He had dark hair styled quite messily, contrasting with his attire, although you could see it had been styled well. It wasn't too short, as there was a loose strand of his clearly thick hair dropping down onto his forehead just above his eyebrow.
The man turned his head to the side to greet somebody, giving them a firm handshake although showing them no facial expression - from this angle he was also extremely good looking even if he was further away.
He looked at least six feet tall, maybe taller - again I couldn't really tell as he was further away from me. His jaw was very well defined, and the fact he had dark stubble that was well groomed tracing the outline of his jaw made it a lot more prominent. I couldn't take my eyes off of him.
I watched as a few more men walked in, some fairly old and some quite young. Although, I couldn't quite make out the age of the handsome, dark haired man. From here he looked about 20 or so.
I suddenly felt a pair of eyes on me and I wished it had been Mr. Tall, dark and very handsome - but it wasn't. I glimpsed over quickly, and saw a man - around thirty - staring at me with dark eyes and a smirk on his face.
He had ash blond hair, and had on a dark grey suit with a tie to match. He looked a lot shorter compared to the other man and also older, but not too old. There was no denying this man was good looking but he was creeping me out and he resembled someone in the slightest way - Paul, and that immediately made my stomach churn.
I tried to ignore his stares, until I began to see him walking towards the platforms and my breath hitched in my throat.
"Woah." I heard Bonnie whisper next to me.
"Mhm." I replied quietly back, I wasn't surprised that Bonnie had caught on to what I was thinking - the man was hard to miss.
We rarely ever got shockingly good looking people visiting, but when they did they were nothing compared to the man that had just stepped in the room. I somehow wished he was not the important guest.
I held the position I was in, glancing around the room taking in everybody that was there. Some classical sounding music started playing, and the bar man started to serve drinks.
I hastily looked away gulping, looking back and forth so it wouldn't be as obvious that I was watching him back.
The man was good looking to say the least, but not impressive compared to the dark haired man that had walked in previously.
I felt my face heat up nervously, although I didn't fail to keep the position I was in.
Suddenly, the man stopped in front of my platform and grinned at me.
"Would you get me a drink please pretty girl. A scotch with ice." he winked, as he held his hand out to me.
I looked up hesitantly, scanning the room and noticed a few eyes on me as I was the first to be asked to do something, I mostly noticed him staring right at me and this man.
He was staring expressionlessly at me, and I was finding it hard to not look back - so I decided on looking between him and the man in front of me.
I felt my cheeks flush, and I was feeling very anxious.
"Are you mute?" the man in front of me asked with a chuckle, although sounded a little annoyed.
"N-no," I gulped "sorry. I'll get you your drink now sir." I spoke politely, nodding at him before taking his hand reluctantly.
"My name is Nicholas. Although, you can call me Mr Daniels." he smirked, looking me up and down as I began to step off of the platform.
I didn't know why, but this guy gave me a weird feeling that I didn't like - I hoped he wouldn't buy me.
He let go of my hand and told me where he'd be sitting, I nodded in compliance before heading over to the bar and asking the man for a scotch with ice.
I didn't like picky people.
I waited patiently at the bar, noticing a couple more maids come up ready to order drinks as well and I felt a lot more relaxed.
"Here you go." the barman said giving me the scotch, smiling at me with what seemed like a sympathetic look on his face.
I gave him a tight lipped smile back, I hated when people looked at me like that - like they felt bad for me, like I was helpless.
Yes, practically all forms of human rights were snatched off of me the day I joined this company but I didn't need the pity glances from certain workers here. It made me feel dumb.
I turned my back on the bar tender and began making my way to where Mr Daniels was sat. As I started walking in my, way too high for me, heels I could see that the man from earlier was looking back at me again, and I accidentally made eye contact with him.
When I realized he'd seen, I quickly looked away and walked faster towards Mr Daniels.
As I approached the table, he still had the grin on his face that he'd had before and I forcefully smiled back.
"Here's your drink Mr Daniels." I spoke quietly, placing the drink down on the table.
"Thank you..." he replied as if waiting for me to say my name.
"Leila." I spoke quickly.
"Leila..." he mumbled as if thinking to himself out loud and looked down.
I stood there for a moment before he looked up once again "Beautiful name, for a beautiful girl." Mr Daniels said creepily.
"Th-thank you." I responded, not really knowing what else to say.
He nodded with a smile as he picked up his drink and took a sip of it, smacking his lips together once he'd done so.
"Hmm," he began suddenly as I continued to stand there like an idiot "you may leave, pretty girl." Mr Daniels told me, and I nodded respectfully at him before walking back over to my platform.
I noticed that Bonnie and most of the other girls were gone from there stands, and the only girl left up there was a short red haired girl who looked bored to death.
I gave her a slight smile when I saw she was watching me, but she didn't return it and just looked away. Rude, I thought.
I stood back on my stand and returned back to the position I was originally in, continuing to take in the atmosphere.
I decided to trace where the handsome man, I'd yet to find out the name of, was. I knew I sounded like a complete weird, stalker of hot guys girl - but he was so mesmerizing and interesting to look at I decided it would be a crime not to look at him.
Yep, I am definitely insane.
I finally caught sight of him, but was disappointed when I noticed that he was talking to...Bonnie? I was oddly surprised that she was with him, but then again she was extremely beautiful and any guy would be crazy not to want her.
He still hadn't smiled as far as I could see, and by the looks of it seemed to be quite bored as Bonnie was talking to him. He even resorted to looking passed her head as she spoke to him by the bar.
I intently watched him and it took me a while to register that he'd seen me staring. Oh God, not again, I thought, this was awkward...do I look away or pretend I'm in some sort of trance? I thought, scolding myself for being too distracted by him.
Suddenly, the right side of his mouth turned up into a small smirk - one that wouldn't be noticeable if you weren't looking hard enough, but clearly I was.
I blinked a couple of times, probably looking absolutely ridiculous to him, but the look he had faded and I was unsure as to whether or not it was in my head.
I saw Bonnie hand him a drink, and as she did this I quickly looked away and shook my head. I couldn't be getting distracted like that. I was here to be bought and earn money - not to people watch for my own satisfaction.
Bonnie returned back to her stand five or ten minutes after and smiled at me, before standing in her place.
I was stood at my platform for a good twenty minutes without any disruptions apart from another older man asking me to get him a drink, but I almost immediately went back to where I was stood after he'd also asked me a few questions.
I continued to stand there and watched as the light from the sunset coming through the window began to fade and the night sky began to come through. I was trying not to yawn as that would get me told off, but I was extremely tired and just wanted to go to sleep.
I stood there for a while longer lost in my thoughts, beginning to believe that tonight I was not going to be bought and would have to wait until tomorrow - which I wouldn't have been to pleased with as the beds here sucked.
I had lost hope, when out of nowhere one of Leonardo's workers began walking towards our platforms with Mr Daniels hot on his trail, looking passed him giving me a small smirk.
Oh God no, not him - anybody but him. He gave me the weirdest vibes ever.
"Miss Aliyev," the worker, who I believe was called Toby said "you are kindly being bought by Mr Daniels here."
"Yes, I couldn't take my eyes off of you the minute I walked in here Leila, and I would love you to be my maid." Mr Daniels butted in.
"I-I..." I opened and closed my mouth like a fish, but no words would come out.
Toby gave me a strange look, and Mr Daniels looked confused as well as annoyed.
"Well, come on then I want to get you home." Mr Daniels said, impatiently.
"You heard him Leila, lets go." Toby intervened, taking my wrist with his hand and I immediately tensed up, and gave him a desperate look.
Toby didn't bother to even acknowledge my look of desperation to get me out of this situation, and I began immediately found myself looking over at Bonnie who had a sad look on her face.
"Sorry." she mouthed as she looked at me helplessly. I looked at her reassuringly, it wasn't her fault. This happened all the time, I just wished it wouldn't today. I wanted to go with somebody who didn't creep the hell out of me.
"Come on Miss Aliyev." Toby snapped pulling me down off the platform.
I looked up at the two men in front of me and took a deep breath. God Damn it.
I accepted the fact that I'd be bought by Mr Daniels and struggled out of Toby's grip giving him a stern look as if to say 'I'll go'. He grudgingly let go of me harshly, before being the first back to lead the way to the main area.
Mr Daniels gave me a quick smirk, before turning around with me following shortly behind him.
We made our way through the small crowd and were approaching the door until a low, husky voice laced with an Italian accent spoke lowly, but with full of authority, from behind us.
"I'd like to buy this girl." it said.
The three of us almost immediately turned around as if we'd all noticed he was addressing us.
Suddenly, I came face to face with the man I'd been watching all night as he stood tall, towering over me. He was clearly built well, with broad shoulders and muscles you could clearly see through his thick blazer.
His brown eyes staring into mine, with a dark authoritative look on his face - it gave me nervous chills, and suddenly I no longer only saw him as attractive.
I saw him as extremely intimidating.
Mr Daniels was the first to speak up "Well that's too bad isn't it, my friend, because she's already been purchased. By me." he said cockily, stepping next to me not even coming close to the man's height in front of me.
"I'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement, my friend." the man said mockingly, keeping the same expression on his face.
I didn't quite know what to do, I stood there still staring at the man in front of me probably looking like I'd just seen a ghost.
"I don't think so Mr..." Mr Daniels began, doing the same thing he did to me waiting for a name to be uttered to him.
"Mr Constanzo. Dante Constanzo." the man articulated, with a stronger Italian accent laced in his voice now.
There was silence for a brief moment, even the rest of the room was listening to the conversation.
The man, Dante, had an amused look on his face as he cocked up an eyebrow looking at Mr Daniels and Toby.
I furrowed my brows in confusion, and turned my head to look at the two men stood next to me now. Each one of them looked nervous, especially Toby and I think I knew why.
Mr Constanzo, was definitely the 'important guest'.
***
"I-I, sorry Mr Constanzo. If I'd have kn-known you wanted this maid, I wouldn't have been so quick to let her be purchased." Toby spoke nervously, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he gulped.
"Well, then you'll be glad to hear I am one for giving second chances." Dante said sounding unconvincing. He didn't look the type to give warnings.
"Yes of course thank you Mr Constanzo, so you wish to buy this maid?" Toby offered almost immediately, and my jaw dropped.
What? I didn't think they'd actually go through with it.
I now think, after this small encounter with Mr Constanzo, that I'd rather stay with Mr Daniels.
"But I want-" Mr Daniels began, before Dante gave him a scary look to which Mr Daniels immediately stopped talking.
This man, must have been very, very important.
Mr Daniels looked at me for a moment, then at Dante and then at Toby before rolling his eyes and grumbling.
"Fine. Take her." he said angrily, before turning to me.
I looked up at him as he leant down to my height and moved his face towards my ear "I'll find you, pretty girl and then I'll make you my maid." he whispered, and I could practically hear the crack of his smirk appear.
Suddenly, his lips made their way to my cheek as he kissed it softly and I shivered feeling invaded and gross. I didn't like this man at all.
Mr Daniels looked up at Dante challengingly all of a sudden, his small moment of fear seemingly gone.
Dante's jaw appeared to clench and unclench as he glared at Mr Daniels "Leave." he spoke simply.
Mr Daniels smirked at him before walking off giving Toby a quick nod of his head.
That man was strange, but I was quite relieved he'd gone.
I wiped my cheek from where he'd kissed me and kept my head turned down.
"Miss Aliyev, sorry about that but you are officially being bought now by Mr Constanzo instead." Toby told me as I looked up and faced him.
I gulped and nodded my head to afraid to say anything with Dante there, he hadn't even spoken to me yet and already I was terrified.
"If you'd both like to follow me to officially confirm this buy." Toby said still sounding a bit nervous as he pointed his head in the direction for us to follow.
I was about to go ahead and walk, but I felt a firm grip on my shoulder and was pulled back slightly.
I didn't bother turning around as I knew exactly who it was that grabbed me back, and felt him lean into me from behind, similarly to how Mr Daniels had, and spoke in my ear.
"I saw you watching me, and I decided I wanted you ragazza timida." Dante said huskily, uttering something I didn't understand at the end.
I felt my breath hitch in my throat, and heard him chuckle lowly and knew he wasn't done.
"E quello che voglio è ciò che ottengo." he spoke in Italian and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion although he couldn't see me.
I felt a rush of braveness surge over me "W-what?" I said softly and quietly, but I knew he'd heard.
"I said, Miss Aliyev..." he begun letting out a breath, that I felt on my neck making my whole body heat up before I prepared myself for what he had to say next.
"...that what I want, is what I get." Dante finished, and I suddenly felt him get back up to his natural stance. I couldn't see his facial expression, but I had a feeling he was smirking as the confident way he spoke he couldn't have not been.
We both stood there for a moment, before I felt him walk around me and saw him walk confidently ahead of me and out the door without a second glance.
With those words he spoke, I knew this man wasn't joking around and what he said was the utter truth.
And I was incredibly scared of that. And him.
