Chapter 4 Record A Video

"Is he your boyfriend?" Duncan asked, after taking a quick look at the guy next to Florrie.

He would depart immediately if Florrie said yes.

"What are you on about, Duncan? We're on a date. How can he be my boyfriend?"

Florrie murmured with a smile, as she covered her mouth.

"In that case, who is he?" Duncan asked as his cold eyes stared at the man.

"This is Elliot Quinn. He is my best friend, not my lover. I'm asking him for advice on my date,"

Florrie explained as she intimately grasped Elliot's arm while Duncan was staring at them.

Elliot smiled and gave Duncan a polite nod. "Nice to meet you."

Despite his displeasure at their closeness, Duncan nodded politely.

"Florrie, you have told me that he was the hottest in your class back in high school. Are you kidding me?"

Elliot gave Duncan a quick scan before facing Florrie again.

"Looks like I made a mistake in the past." Her shoulders shrugged as if she was not caring about the remark at all.

Displeasure was apparent in Duncan's expression.

"There are a lot of things I have to get done. I won't be able to remain here for long. So, I won't beat around the bush,"

Florrie sarcastically said when Duncan was about to say something.

Their last encounter had been 10 years ago. She seemed least interested in catching up on him and directly cut to the chase and talked about money or things like that.

When he saw Florrie's demeanor, he realized he had lost all feelings for her.

"I can't agree with you more. As a matter of fact, I'm also really busy. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions," Duncan said in a cold voice. Rather than drag out the date any longer, he simply wanted to get it over with.

"How much money are you making each month?" Her cheeky grin lit up her face as she inquired.

"My salary is less than one hundred grand."

Duncan faked a grin.

His response stunned both Florrie and Elliot.

Florrie raised her lips after a few seconds. "Can you be a little more precise?"

"Five to six grand a month,"

Duncan revealed the truth.

Initially, he was planning to lie so that his ex-girlfriend would have a good opinion of him.

But because of that system, he became more confident. As such, there was no need for him to lie anymore.

"You got paid so little? In a luxurious city like Ulgow, life must be difficult for you,"

Elliot sarcastically said as his head shook from laughter.

"Is that so? Actually, I don't feel any difficulties. My life is quite great,"

Duncan nonchalantly replied.

"Do you have any idea how much money I make?"

Florrie said with a raised brow. She sat back in her seat, her arms clasped over her chest.

"How much money do you make these days?" Duncan looked at her with a curious expression.

"I'm just making fifty to sixty grand a month. If my year-end bonus is included, that's a million dollars a year."

"Impressive," Duncan said with an artificial smile.

Despite his placid demeanor, he had a tinge of jealousy.

He could not compete with her if he lacked the system.

At this moment, Duncan realized that Florrie wasn't here to have a date with him. All she wanted was to make him feel bad.

"Since I'm sure you don't have a car or a house, I'm not going to ask about it," Florrie said in a voice full of mockery.

"Do not make such absurd claims, Florrie. After all, he has a Lamborghini parked outside."

With an intentional increase in volume, Elliot attracted the attention of others in the room.

"Elliot, you crack me up with your humor. Do you think he can buy a Lamborghini?"

"I'm telling the truth. Look at that red Lamborghini outside. He was driving that earlier,"

Elliot mockingly said as he pointed at the car parked outside.

A confident smile flashed across Florrie's face. Instead of looking outside, she smugly said, "It must be a rental."

"Is that so?" Elliot pretended to be surprised.

"He's dressed to impress in a suit and tie now. But in fact, he doesn't own any of his clothing, jewelry, or shoes! All of those are rented. This was relayed to me directly by a close buddy."

After saying that, Florrie turned her head towards a woman in sunglasses not far away from their table.

"Am I right, Tanya?"

Everyone followed Florrie's eyes.

Apparently, a woman was sitting near them while holding a camera.

It seemed that the woman was filming the three of them.

When the woman realized that Duncan and the others were looking at her, she decided not to hide anymore.

With the camera in her hand, she approached them.

When she got close enough, Duncan clearly saw her face.

It was only then that Duncan revealed a surprised expression.

Not only did he know the woman, but she was also closely acquainted with him.

Prior to the events of today, Tanya Foster was a dear friend of Duncan.

"Don't mind me. I'm just recording you guys,"

Tanya coldly said as she pointed her camera at Duncan.

"Why are you doing that?"

Duncan asked as he pointed at the camera. Disbelief was apparent on his face.

"Fine. I'll stop playing with you. Actually, I'm about to get married,"

Florrie said with a smug smile. She leaned her elbow against the table as she rested her chin on her palm.

Confused, Duncan coldly asked, "Then why are you on a date with me?"

To prevent herself from giggling, Florrie covered her mouth and said, "I'm making a surprise for my future husband."

"A surprise? What are you talking about?" Duncan showed a hint of irritation on his face.

"How do I explain it?" When Florrie put her index finger to her lips, she paused for a while before saying, "I really love my boyfriend and want to prepare a special wedding gift for him. That's why I recorded this video. I want him to know how much superior he is to any of my previous boyfriends!"

When Duncan heard this, his eyes widened.

"My intention isn't to be abrasive. However, I have no idea that you live so miserably. After graduating from high school, I've dated a lot of men, and you're the least fortunate. You even had to rent a suit for our date. To be honest, I don't remember why I fell in love with you back in high school. You're kind of a loser."

As soon as Duncan saw her mischievous smirk, he instantly grasped the significance of what she was saying.

It came out that everything had been planned in advance.

Back in high school, Tanya was Florrie's close friend. Recently, she personally visited Duncan to set up a date between him and Florrie and he agreed. That was why he was humiliated then and there.
