Chapter 4 : Tricked

She turned around with a start."Daddy" She said throwing herself in his arms.

"how are you my golden sugar?" Anthony, her father replied.

"I'm not well dad, not well at all." She said in a sad voice.

"What's wrong my sugar?"

"I am angry with you, very angry even. Since then I've been trying to reach you on your number but without success, and when I call your landline number, it's your wife who takes it. She tells me that you're not there, that when you come home you'll call me back, but nothing, never a call from you. So I thought you didn't want me anymore dad. I miss you dad. I miss the family we once were. Please reconcile please, you were such a beautiful couple, I don't understand what went wrong. What do you find in this woman, dad, what is she more than mom?" She said almost crying.

Yvy told her father that she didn't want to meet Cathia because she was a husband thief. But he told her that she was nice and she didn't say anything more so as not to upset or offend him.

After saying that, he took out two 10,000fcfa notes from his pocket and gave them to Yvy for her needs and others during that week, and that next week he would send her more money. She took and said thank you. Before leaving he asked her how her first day of class was and she tried to describe it, then he kissed her on the forehead telling her that he loves her with all his heart.

It was her father who took care of her for the most part, and who had even enrolled her in her new school since her mother's monthly income was too meager to support them both. And she was his only child which was why he loved her even more. With Cathia he had no children because she was sterile. They had already toured the largest hospitals in the country and even abroad but no solution. Even on the side of the marabouts it was without success.

Yvy was placed there, watching her father move away from her with tears in her eyes. She was in pain, her heart was bruised by the separation of her parents. After shopping, she returned and began the preparation,. While scaling the fish the knife almost hurt her. "Ow, I need to be more focused and stop thinking about James and Dad," she said to herself as she continued to work. She got everything ready and started cooking. One hour later, everything was already ready. She served herself and ate while watching a romantic movie to comfort her. When she finished, she began to read the few lessons they had had during the day, then fell asleep around 10 p.m.

At 4:30 am she was already up, washed, dressed up, put on her shoes, brushed her hair and went to make breakfast before her mother came home. Before she was finished, she heard the sound of a key in the lock, it was her mother who opened the door.

"Hello sweetie," she said when she saw Yvy coming to greet her at the entrance. "Hi mom, you look tired how was work?"

"Yes I'm very tired Yvy, I'm going to take a shower and I'll join you at the table."

"okay mom" said Yvy returning to the kitchen.

Her mother has finished and joined her, she asked her how her first day of school went, and Yvy replied that it was not bad, and that she had seen her father after her return from school. When they finished eating, Yvy cleared the table, took her bag and said goodbye to her mother who was already thinking of going to bed. When she left the house it was 7 a.m. and the first lesson started at 8 a.m. so she had plenty of time. At 7:30 she was already in her class and sat down on her bench, seeing people file by, until Chloe arrived in class, waved her fingers at the class in greeting but looking at Yvy scornfully. Lea was not long in arriving.

"Hello my beautiful." Said Lea while coming close to Yvy

"Hello" She answered in a sad voice.

"Why are you sad. What went wrong?"

"Nothing works Lea, absolutely nothing. My life is a mess, I have Chloe on one side and my parents on the other." While she was talking the tears were flowing, she lowered her head so that Lea wouldn't see her crying.

"Hey Yvy calm down everything will be fine by the grace of God don't worry okay?"

They had just finished their discussion that a professor had already entered. he was a physical education teacher. He introduced himself and explained to them when and how they were going to have class, and that they had to be ready for the first class the following week. An hour later another teacher came in, it was the math teacher and he was very funny. The students spent the time laughing at his jokes during his class. After that was a break.

Lea went to the canteen and Yvy, not wanting to move because she felt bad, gave her her money. Suddenly, Yvy saw Chloe's two stooges coming towards her. One of them greeted Yvy with a mischievous smile.

"Yes what do you want from me?" Yvy said sternly.

"We introduce ourselves first. We are Jessica and Andréa" said Jessica.

"And we didn't come to war we just came as friends because war leads nowhere except accentuate hatred."

"Yes that's it and you think I'm going to believe you hmm." Replied Yvy.

"I seriously came as a friend; I too saw that Chloe is not a good girl" Whispered Jessica.

While one of the girls was talking to Yvy, the other scoffed behind her, opened her bag, put something inside, quickly closed the bag before Yvy noticed it and came back. place in front of Yvy.

"Yes we saw that Chloe is bad and selfish reason why we want to be your friends we apologize for everything" Said Jessica.

"There's no problem. I am everyone's friend."

When she said that the girls left, saying thanks you.

Lea came back from the canteen Yvy told her everything and she told Yvy to beware, but Yvy immediately stopped her by telling her that she saw the look of these girls and it was a sincere look, and that in addition they apologized for all the harm they had done to her.
