Chapter 2: Chloe

Yvy stood there filled with dread while looking at Chloe walking away, "Phew!" she sighed in relief. "Who is she?" She asked Lea.

"You just stepped on Chloe Dencia, a senator's daughter. Besides being very naughty and popular, she is also pretentious. If she wants to, she can ruin your life all year long. The worst is that we are in the same class." She whispered to Yvy, hiding her mouth with her hand. "If you had cleaned that shoe, you would have become the laughing stock of the whole school. Because wherever you met, she could ask you to clean her shoe. Welcome to Fastidual School my dear." She finished.

Nevertheless, Lea tried to cheer Yvy up. "Don't worry. If you always manage to avoid her, you will have a quiet year." said Lea as she walked down the hallway with Yvy.

"I have achieved it since I'm in this school. Why not you?" She reassured.

they continued their walk through the school and thanks to Lea, Yvy discovered from the first day the school canteen, the principal's office, the teacher's room, and the dance hall, where a sudden urge to go to the toilet came to Lea. She told Yvy to wait her for a few moments while she was absent.

Yvy took the opportunity to take a little walk, hoping she would be back before Lea returned. She left the dance hall and outside she was drawn into the gym by the music playing there. and once inside, she was astounded by the expanse and the beautiful curves and design of the basketball court the gym was equipped. Yvy found the gym was huger than what Lea told her, definitely making that school the one of her dreams, aside from the little altercation she just had. In fact, the school could boast to have one of the largest gyms of the country while its basketball team was among the best.

In the gym, there were many students sat on the bleachers. It didn't feel like it was the very first day of class. Some were chatting, while some others were just hanging around.

As she walked gawking in admiration at the court she had never seen anywhere but on TV, Unfortunately, once again, not seeing where she was stepping, she got her feet tangled in the wires of the baffle playing the music and felt, the music stopping at the same time. Everyone around rushed to find out what happened.

Just the time for her to get back to her senses and there were already a lot of people around her, some laughing, and some trying to find out what had just happened. Yvy was ashamed for being so clumsy, and had difficulty getting up with her feet still tangled. At that moment, she'd have liked to stop time.

But suddenly, a tall boy who had made his way through the crowd was standing in front of her, holding out his hand to help her up. For Yvy, he looked like an angel straight down from heaven for her. He was so handsome with brown eyes, fair complexion, shiny black curly hair and to top it off, his luscious lips made her want to bite them. Once she was on her feet thanks to the help of this mysterious stranger, the mockery and laughter stopped and people dispersed leaving them both alone as if it radiated from him a protective aura that naturally repelled evil.

As he was talking to Yvy, she heard nothing, still under the spell of his stunning look."How's it going? Everything is fine? Heooohh, are you with me?" Then she came to her senses. "You're so cute. No, no, I mean you're so nice, thank you for helping me." She said embarrassed. "You're welcome. Next time, be a little more careful." He replied, moving away from Yvy who stood there.

All this time, Lea was looking for Yvy and finally found her on the basketball court, still frozen by the soft touch that she continued to feel on her skin even when he was gone. "This boy is so handsome. I would have liked this moment lasted forever. Oh no! I was stupid not to ask his name. But at least I know he's in another upper sixth. I've read it on his uniform." She was thinking in these terms.

All this time Lea was looking for Yvy and finally found her in the gym, in a state of dream.

Yvy was dreaming without noticing the presence of Lea who suddenly woke her. "Look how you make me walk to find you. Yet I asked you to wait for me in the dance hall. Descend from your dreamy little planet. Did I miss something?"

Yvy stood there without saying anything and Lea continued. "Did you lose your tongue or did you see a ghost?"

"No Lea, I've found my soulmate"

"hahaha! Can I know who it is?"

"I don't even know who it is too. Things happened so fast."

"Ok! Come on, you tell me all in class. It is almost the end of break."

As they walked to the class, Yvy told Lea everything and she was very surprised by all. As soon as they entered the classroom, the siren rang signaling the end of the break and right after them, the English teacher entered, introduced himself, gave the timetable, and then began to dispense the first lesson. Yvy was still dreaming about the guy who had just helped her in the gym and how she could do to see him again, so she was not taking any note and the teacher noticed.

"Miss, why aren't you taking any note?"

"I've lost my pen" Yvy lied, scratching her head and hiding her pen with another hand under the table."

"And why don't you ask your classmates for one? Please can someone give a pen to their classmate? "

Chloe turned, she was sitting on the first bench in the row close to Yvy's, stared at Yvy and handed her a pen with a contemptuous air saying "If my pen gets lost or damage, you'll by me another one." And the teacher asked Yvy to return the pen at the end of class and then continued the lesson.

At the end of class, Yvy wanted to give back the pen to Chloe who to her surprise refused to take it saying she could no more use a pen a stupid girl as Yvy used and that Yvy should use her pen so that it could give her a little more style because her style left a lot to be desired.

She was talking so loud that it caught everyone's attention in the class and they all started laughing except Lea who felt so bad for Yvy. Yvy threw the pen in front of Chloe and left. And suddenly, the class fell silent at the point you could even hear a fly flying

Chloe felt humiliated and flew into a rage. She asked Yvy to come and pick up the pen and leave with it but Yvy continued to walk away without paying attention to what she was saying.

A guy from the class stood up and picked up the pen saying "finding is not stealing. If no one wants it I'll take it oooh." Everyone laughed except Chloe who continued to feel humiliated by the way Yvy acted. Yvy knew what she had just done would cost her dearly but she didn't care. She had to show Chloe that she wasn't afraid of her.

The class was noisy because students were chattering about what just happened, and Lea was so happy for Yvy that she told her she did well and she wouldn't let herself face this plague of Chloe. People was so focused on the debates that they didn't even see someone came in. He decided to draw their attention by coughing.

"ugh hello."

"Good morning sir" said the students while falling silent.

"I'm Mr. Até your head master. For any problem, refer to me. I'm here to tell you that next week it will be a vote to elect your class prefect. the class prefect is the one who takes care of the class. he is the bridge between you and the administration. So all of you wanting to be candidate can pass to my office to get more information. It is just after the principal one. thank you for your attention."

After, the head master left Lea asked Yvy if she would make her candidature. After a brief hesitation, Yvi finally accepted and Lea was happy. A few minutes later it was the second pause.

Yvy decided to rest in class because she was tired after all what just happened and moreover, she had what she could eat in her bag. When she lifted her head toward the door, she saw someone entering the class and her heart started beating fast.
