Chapter 9 A born star

Kristen matched to the class, she was planning to teach Esmeralda a lesson. She entered and saw her on a seat reading a book. She walked towards her and snatched the book from her.

" What the......." Her voice trailed off when she saw Kristen glaring at her. " Give me back my book. " She said and stood up at once. She ignored the pain in her knee cap and went towards Kristen.

" And why should I do that? Why should I give my rival her book back?" Kristen chuckled evilly.

" Why do you hate me? " She asked and Kristen scoffed.

" Isn't it obvious? I hate you! I hate poor people. You little brats think you can come and feed on what you didn't work for. " Kristen said and Esmeralda chuckled.

" Only someone who's sucking up to another person says that. Are you sure you aren't with Alexander for his money?" She mocked and Kristen grew red.

" It seems you lost your sanity along with your money when you were born poor. " Kristen said and tore the book.

" You didn't dare!" Esmeralda said and charged towards her. Kristen dodged and she fell.

" Poor thing you can't even walk properly. Stay away from Alexander or you'll die next. " Kristen whispered in her ears before walking away.

A girl helped Esmeralda up and she helped her back to the seat. " You should be careful with Alex and his whore especially the whore. " The girl said and she sighed.

" Why do rich people like oppressing our kind? It's not our fault we're not rich. " Esmeralda said and the girl patted her shoulders.

" Not all. I'm rich too. By the way my name's Emily Clayton. " The girl said and Esmeralda gasped before looking at her properly. It was really Emily Clayton. She's a very popular writer and actress.

" I know. I get that a lot." Emily winked and went back to her seat.

" Esmeralda, I just heard what that bitch did. Where is she?" Alexa asked as she ran into the class.

" I don't know. " Esmeralda said and picked the book she tore. " Thank heavens you're not important. " She said and kept the remaing parts carefully in her backpack.

It was already evening, Esmeralda had given Alexa her address and she was going to take her to her house. She wore her best blue top and pants with a white sneakers. She was going to a rich man's house and she needed to look her best. She heard a car horn outside and she peeped through the window. Alexa came down from the car dresses to the nines in a hot blue gown. She hurriedly went to the door and let her in.

" What a nice place you live in." Alexa said when she had taken her seat on one of the house. Of course it's nice. She lives in a cabin close to the beach.

" It is nice. I love to swim when it's sunny and when it's breezy too but I rarely have the time now. I'll get my purse. " Esmeralda said and went back to her room. She came back some seconds later with her purse.

" Thanks for doing this for me. " Alexa said and she smiled. " I know if it had been my brother, you would have never agreed. "

" I'm also doing myself a favour so it's okay. Why doesn't he feature with a fellow star?"

" I don't know. He always tells me that he's using this medium to search for the best talent but I know there's more to it. " Alex's shrugged as they both walked out of the house. " What about your brother?"

" He knows how to unlock the door. I already texted him that I won't be back till tomorrow. "

" Tomorrow? You plan on going somewhere?"

" Yeah I have a few things to take care of. " She winked.

" Were you really serious about going without me?" They heard Rowan say.

" Yes. Do you have to go with me everywhere?"She scoffed.

" I'm your brother, it's my duty to protect you. " He said.

" I know. I'm well protected. Alexa's gonna take care of me. " She said and arranged his collar. " Sometimes I think if you're my brother or father. "

" But......."

" Don't worry, I'll take care of her. " Alexa cut in and that was when he noticed her.

" Alexandria Madden. " He said surprised. When Esmeralda had told him she was going to a friend's place for a sleepover, he never expected it to be the Alexandria Madden. She was a well known model and rich too. He wasn't that much of a fan but she was Esmeralda's idol.

" Yes. I'll take care of her, I promise. She'll be back tomorrow afternoon. " She winked and Esmeralda gasped.

" I......"

" You can keep her. It'll mean more food for me. " Rowan said and they both chuckled.

The car pulled up at the driveway and they both came down. Alexa opened the door to the mansion and led her in. Their parents had gone to a function so they had the whole mansion to themselves for a whole week.

" He might be in the studio." She said and led her upstairs. They got to a room that was painted blue and had an inner door. Alex's placed her fingerprint on it and the door opened to a very beautiful room, it looked Esmeralda was in paradise. One shouldn't call this a studio. It was damn beautiful!

" Alex I brought a guest. Be nice. " Alexa said when they saw Alex sitting down doing nothing.

" She came? Thank you baby sister. " He said and hugged her. " Let's get to business immediately. Since I haven't heard you sing once, why don't you sing something first. Something simple that you know very well. " He said and she nodded. She went towards the guitar and picked it up. " You play?"

" I'm quite good at it. I think I'll go with 'Misunderstood.' " She said and started playing the guitar.

Alexa stared at Esmeralda with mouth agape while she dropped the guitar and Alex was surprised. She was more than an expert, she was a pro. Here she's calling herself a learner. These are the kind of people the music industry needs. Esmeralda stared at them with questioning eyes. She wasn't sure of how her singing went. She barely sang because there was no one to encourage her. Rowan had once told her she was a born music star but she doubted it. Now she was waiting for these rich siblings to voice their opinion.

" Wow! That was great! " Alexa screamed excitedly. " That was amazing! I never knew you could sing that well! You should be a star!" She said and hugged her. Esmeralda breathed out in relief and hugged her back.

" Just keeping it simple. " She said and disengaged from the hug.

" That was great. Just what I want, a raw talent. I'll call my manager. " Alex said and left.

" That's so cool. This will be a huge opportunity for you. If you can perform well during the audition, you can be among the next top musicians. "

" What audition?"

" Mum's company runs a talent show every year for raw talents. I'll sign you up for this year. " Alexa said and she smiled. This is a huge opportunity and she's gonna grab it.

" Thanks. "

"You know you shouldn't get your hopes high. Who knows? Maybe Alex might kick you out before you even go on stage. " Kristen said behind them. She had been in the studio since and had listened to her song and she could tell that she was good but there was no way she's singing with Alex.

" How did you get in here? Let me guess, you sneaked in after me before the door closed. " Alexa mocked and she groaned. She was right, she did sneak in. She had dated Alex for along but he doesn't trust her enough to give her the pass into his studio.

"Like I said, don't even think about singing with my boyfriend. "

" She will be singing with me. It's been concluded. We start practicing tomorrow. Another hectic album duties. " Alex announced oblivious to Kristen's presence and Alexa shrieked.

" What?!" Kristen exclaimed.

" Oh hey. How did you get in?" Alex asked and she scoffed.

" That's the first thing you could say to me? After ruining my day? I'm outta here. " She said annoyed and he waved his hand. He didn't have time for her tantrums. She marched towards the door and looked back. He opened it with his finger print and she walked out, the door closing behind her.

" If you're done, close my studio. " Alex said and left leaving only Alexa and Esmeralda in there.
