MADDEN'S MANSION.

" Alexander open the damn door! " A tiny voice could be heard outside the room but he paid no attention to it. He scoffed and continued checking himself out. He always does that every morning before going to college. It was his usual morning routine and he wasn't going to let his sister ruin it because of a stupid headband.

"Alexander!!! I'm gonna kill you if I come in there." She continued yelling as she banged the door.

" What's going on her? Xandria?" Ava, their mother asked coming out of her room. Her husband had gone on a business trip and she was home alone with her troublesome twins.

" He messed up my headband and doesn't want to give it back. " She cried.

" You can always get a new one." Ava sighed.

" No... I love that headband. " She cried.

" He'll come around. Go have breakfast. It's almost time for school. " Ava said and she hugged her.

" Thanks mum. You're the best. " She said with a wide smile.

When he was sure that they were gone, he opened the door and peeped out slowly but he received a knock on his head.

" Ouch! What was that for? " He cried when he saw his mum staring down at him.

" That's for making my baby sad. What did you do to her?" Ava asked with a serious face.

" She deserves it. She can't share my best friend with me. " He scoffed.

" Your best friend gave her out of his own free will. She's not sharing him with you. " Ava scoffed. " Don't ever make her sad again. Know where arrogance stops. Don't take it close to my baby. " She said and walked away.

Alexander sighed as he watched his mother's retreating back. The only person he could be humble to was his mother and now she wants him to do that to his twin sister. He loves her no doubt but he couldn't show her respect.

LOWER PACIFIC HEIGHTS, SAN FRANCISCO.

ESMERALDA'S CABIN.

Esmeralda kept staring at the time anxiously as she ate her food. Her brother, Rowan watched her as she ate and noticed that she had barely touched her food.

" You can't concentrate on your food if you want the strength to deal with those rich kids. " Rowan said .

" Oh I'm sorry. I didn't even notice. I'm just anxious that's all. Going to a college, not just any college but the wealthiest of wealthiest go there. " She said with gleaming eyes.

" Yeah right. Not like you weren't in college. " Rowan scoffed.

" I was but this is a huge opportunity for me. Getting transferred to the best University in the state has always been my dream. It's not at a cost but on scholarship. Tell me who wouldn't be happy?" Esmeralda smiled.

" I'm so happy for you. " Rowan said.

" It's almost time. I better get going. Don't forget you have summer camp. " She said as she stood up.

" Summer camp? I ain't going. " He said.

" Why? "

" I don't have the money. It's too expensive. Maybe the next one. " He said and she sighed.

" I promise you when I graduate, I'll make sure you never miss any summer camp. " She said and he hugged her.

" You'll be late. Now go. I'll miss you. " He said and pecked her forehead.

" Take care of yourself." She said and left.

Rowan brought out his phone and stared at the time. It was almost time for him to go. His reason for not going to the summer camp was not because of money. It was a free camp actually bit he had other important things to do. He dialed a number in his phone and the person picked after the second ring.

📞 " What do you want Rowan? " A female voice could be heard in the other end.

📞 " Let's meet. I'll be at saucers in five minutes." Rowan said.

📞 " No can do. I can't do that. You literally want to see me because of her. I don't want anything to do with you guys anymore. So stop calling me if you know what's best for you. " The lady said rashly.

📞 Please just for ten minutes. We have to talk about something. "

📞 Don't waste my time. Five minutes. " She said and hung up.

MAYLINE UNIVERSITY, SAN FRANCISCO.

Esmeralda stared in awe at the beauty of the school when she came down from the cab. She had heard a lot about it's beauty but never for once had she seen it with her own eyes. She just loves the way the school was. She had never seen anything like this in her whole life. Even the company her dad worked at before her died wasn't as beautiful as this was.

" Watch where you're going tramp! " She heard someone yell and she looked up to see a girl with a frown on her face.

" I'm so sorry. " Esmeralda said in embarrassment. She had been so busy staring at the environment that she didn't notice she had hit someone.

" I don't know why the Chancellor admits pigs into this school. Commoners like you don't belong here. This school is out of your leagues so I'd advise that you stay off and get another pair of eyes if this one isn't working." The girl said rudely and pushed her.

" If you think I'm not supposed to be here, then why are you here? Last I checked you're a human like I am. So what's the problem, tramp. " Esmeralda muttered as she walked away. I'm new here so I shouldn't cause any trouble on my first day.

She was about entering the Vice Chancellor's office when she heard loud screams from outside the hallway. Must be a celebrity. She continued walking to the office when someone pulled her back.

" Where do you think you're going to? " A male voice asked her.

" The vice Chancellor's office. " She replied.

" That can wait. Everyone has to be outside if you don't want to get in trouble on your first day. " The guy said and she scoffed.

" What sort of...... " She couldn't complete her sentence before he pulled her out of the building.

" Stay here. Don't get noticed. " The guy said and walked away. She stared at everyone in awe as they screamed someone's name and made comments about the person.

" You can all go back to your business now. " A firm voice said and they all scattered including her. She went back to the vice Chancellor's office and was lucky to meet him there since he was a very busy person.

" Ms Montez. " The vice Chancellor, Mr Davis said.

" Good morning Mr Davis. " She said and bowed her head respectfully.

" Here's your department schedule and everything you'll need. Also the key to your lockers. Any other thing you'll need has already been placed in your locker. " He said with a smile. " You're a bright student. I hope that you'll keep it up and not fall apart because of the kind of people you'll meet you. "

" Trust me Mr Davis. I'm very strong. I can handle anyone who comes across me. " She said and he chuckled.

" Just don't get into trouble. You have your first class in five minutes. " He said and she nodded before leaving his office. She was keeping her key in her bag and didn't notice someone was ahead of her. She bumped into the person and she gasped. Why do I keep bumping into people?

" You again! " An angry voice yelled. " You're so clumsy. " The girl said and poured the remnants of her juice on her hair. Everyone who was around giggled at the display.

" Pathetic! " Esmeralda muttered as she walked away. It was her first day so she wasn't going to fight back. She wasn't going to do anything that would jeopardize her scholarship.

Esmeralda barged into the house in a hasty mood. She had the most nasty day in school and it hurt that she couldn't stand for herself. For once, she wished she was rich then those idiots wouldn't look down on her.

" I know. You had a bad day. " Rowan said walking into her room.

" I did. Those kids are something else. " She scoffed. " I just wish dad was still alive. Mum just had to leave when we needed her most. "

" I know. We'll pull through this together as a family. I got us some money for today. " He said and hugged her.

" Where did you get money from? " She asked suspiciously.

" I earned it. It's no trouble." He smirked.

" There was this kid at school. They worshipped him like a god. I wonder how some people live with that. " She scoffed as she took off her jacket.

" I know. But you'll love it if you are rich." He chuckled as he headed out of the room. " I'm cooking lunch. "

" Make something nice or I'm not eating. " She said and he laughed.

" Come on . I'm the best cook you'll ever know. " He winked.

" I miss you mum. " She murmured as laid on the bed.

MADDEN'S MANSION

" Alexander don't you dare walk out on my me!" Mr Madden yelled but he ignored him.

" I'm not listening to his shit anymore mum. " He said to his mum when she tried to stop him. He walked upstairs and his mother sighed.

" Marcus I've told you to stop this nonsense. The boy is just twenty three. " She said and he scoffed.

" His mates are already married. " Marcus said.

" You know our children and you know what they love. Settling down after earning a degree. " She said and he chuckled.

" I only need their degree so they could help run the company. They need to get married soon. " He yelled.

" Yyou forced them to follow your dreams. At least let them follow their hearts when it comes to marriage. You can't make them do everything you want. "

" Ava do you dare tell me how to control my children! They're my children, not yours. " He said and she gasped. She turned around to make sure no one was there.

" Marcus..... "

" Shut up woman!!" He yelled and walked away. Ava stared at the blank space as tears threatened to fall from her eyes. Her husband had never made her happy since they got married, so it wasn't something new.

" Mum are you okay? Did Dad hurt you? She Alex ask and she hurriedly wiped her tears.

" I'm fine. I didn't get the chance to ask you about school today. " She said as she took her seat and he sat beside her.

" The same. The usual praises. " He smirked.

" Why do you love being adored? You could just walk into the school unnoticed. " Ava chuckled.

" Come on, mum. I'm a celebrity and I'm almost in my final years so I need some adoration from my fans. "

" Just like your father. But get adored with humility. Don't look down on others. " She said and he scoffed.

" I can't bear it... Getting close to those poor people. " He shrugged.

" Well you have to if you want everyone to love you. " She said and ruffled his hair.

" I've got to prepare for an interview . " He said and stood up. Alexandria came in few minutes later and sat in the spot he stood from.

" Hey beautiful. " Ava teased.

" Mum. " She smiled.

" You're smiling. What's up? "

" He hugged me. " She smiled.

" Who did? "

" Aiden. "

" You must be proud. Have you told your brother yet?"

" He'll kill me. He doesn't want me to share his best friend with him. Telling him I have a crush on Aiden would ruin it. "

" I know but you have to tell him one day. You can't hide your feelings forever or you're gonna be hurt. "

" I know mum. " She said and pecked her cheek. " Well I'm off to the spa. I've got a shoot tonight. " She said and left. Ava sighed as she suddenly felt an emptiness within her. She would have gone to the bedroom but her husband was in there cursing his lungs out and he won't hesitate to transfer his anger to her.

" Maybe I should go over to her place tonight. She's like it. " She murmured.

RUBY'S FASHION STUDIO

Alexandria changed into her gown for the shoot. It was a backless red sapphire gown below below her thighs. The hair stylist styled her hair upwards and adorned it with diamonds pins. She retouched her makeup and wore her heels. She was good to go. The shoot was in two minutes and everyone was already waiting for her. She just wished her father would let her continue living her life like this but it wasn't possible. She was about to go out when she accidentally bumped into someone.

" Oh shit! " A female voice cursed.

" I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking. " Alexa said.

" It's okay. It's my fault. " The lady said and she looked up. " Alexandria Madden!" The lady screamed. " I'm a huge fan. Very huge one. You look very beautiful. " She said excitedly and she smiled.

" Well thanks. You look beautiful too. Do you work here? " She asked. It was a private shoot and no fans were allowed. She scanned her dressing and could tell from the brand she was wearing that she wasn't from a rich family. But who cares? She needs new friends and this lady just seems to be the right one. She loves her personality.

" Yeah. I work here somedays. It was nice meeting you. " She said and walked away but Alexa stopped her.

" Wait your name? "

" Esmeralda. " She said and left. She didn't even ask for her autograph. There was no way she was going to quit modelling. This is her life and she doesn't care what her father says, she ain't quitting.

IN THE LOBBY.

Alex sat down in the lobby waiting for Alexa to finish her shoot. He had his interview close by and had volunteered to pick her up. He was on his phone when a girl passed him and her scent hit him. It's the same girl! The same girl who didn't spare him a glance the last time he was here.

" Good mister how may I help you? " The girl said and he scoffed.

" You may help me in my bed. " He said and she chuckled.

" You're such a flatterer but I bet you can't handle me for even five minutes. " She hissed.

" You little wench! Are you intentionally talking down on me?"

" Are you intentionally talking shit to me?" The girl said and smirked evilly. " You might be rich but you don't intimidate me. Try using such words on me again and I'll make sure you regret it. Now I ask again, how may I help you?" " She winked.

" You'll pay for this!"

" Bring it on, classy boy and let's see who'll pay. " She chuckled.

" Ahem!" Alexa coughed behind them. " I'll like to have my ride now. You can kill each other later. " She said .

" I'm sorry Alexandria. " The girl said and moved. Alexa looked at her in shock. This girl was something else. Not only did she talk back at her brother which something outsiders dare not do but she called her first name. She seemed like someone who doesn't care if you're rich or not and it was gonna land her in a whole lot of trouble. Most lower class people would prefer to call her miss so they could gain favour from her but this girl was something else and she liked her even more.

" Do you need a ride home? " Alexa asked.

" What?! Don't even think about it. " Alex said with a straight face. He wasn't going to drive the car for sure if she's tagging along. ' You'd better say no.'

" No thank you. I have my ride home but thank you anyways. I wouldn't want to impose on your driver. " She winked and walked away.

" What?! Did she just call me your driver?!" Alex screamed in disbelief.

" Let it go, Alex. Let it go. " She said and patted his shoulder.

" I'm sure ain't letting this go. I'll make sure she pays for humiliating me. " He grinned evilly.

" Don't you dare! She's my friend and I'm begging you to let it go for my sake." Alexa said. " Please. "

" Alright I heard you but I'm not letting her off next time. "

" Deal. Now can we go home? I'm tired. " She cried.

" Sure thing baby. "

" I'm not a baby. " She pouted as she got into the car. " Esmeralda....." She whispered and smiled. Lovely name for a beautiful girl.

MADDEN'S MANSION.

Alex stormed into the house like someone who had encountered his enemy on the way.

" Alex are you okay? " Ava asked as he walked past her but he didn't respond.

" He got humiliated in the most awkward way. "Alexa said.

" Humiliated by who? "

" My new friend. " She winked and Ava made an 'oh' sound. " I'll be in my room, mum. " She said and pecked her as she made her way upstairs. Marcus came down few minutes later and settled in the living room.

" Should I make you something to eat?" Ava asked.

" I don't need anything from you. I'm fine. " Marcus said with a straight face.

" Buy you haven't taken anything since you got home. " She said.

" And I said I don't need anything. Until you stop teaching my children from ganging up against their father, then I'll eat. " He scoffed.

" Marcus, you forget that they're my children too. I might have not carried them in my womb but they're still my children. They suckled on my breasts. Stop trying to make me feel bad every slightest chance you get. If you're tired of this marriage, just tell me. Besides our children are old enough to make their own decisions. " Ava said in one breath.

" My children not yours. "

" Fine. Stay out of my room till you think you're ready to give me an answer. " She said and went upstairs. Marcus continued what he was doing without paying any attention to her.

NEXT DAY

ESMERALDA'S CABIN.

Rowan woke up before Esmeralda so he didn't all the house chores before he prepared for school. It was almost seven and Esmeralda was still in the room so he decided to check on her.

" I'll surely be there, Douglas. " Esmeralda said smiling as she looked out the window. " No. I'll have to go to school first, then I'll come meet you. There isn't going to be any shoot at the studio. I'll be there, it's a done deal. " She said and hugged up. Rowan clapped behind and she turned sharply.

" How long have you been there? " She asked.

" Long enough for me to hear everything. I'll be there, it's a done deal. Who is this Douglas?"

" He's a friend. "

" Why don't I know about him?"

" You can't know about all my friends. "

" Es, he's a guy which means he's not trustworthy. You can't go out with a guy without my permission. "

" What are you? Twelve years older than me? I'm your older sister, I don't need your permission. " She scoffed.

" You do. You might be the eldest but I'm still the man of the house and you need permission. I want to meet this Douglas guy."

" It's no problem at all. You can come with me to go see him tonight. " She said and he shrugged.

" I'll do exactly that. " He smiled. " Well I'm off to school. " He said and left.

" Why is he always leaving for school so early? " She murmured.

Rowan walked into a building. He usually goes there before he goes to school. He opened the door to a room and met no one inside.

" She hasn't come here since yesterday. " A lady said behind him.

" Oh I see. Tell her I was here today if she stops by. " He said and left.

He was about entering the science class when he bumped into someone. " Rowan it's you. " He heard a familiar voice say.

" Yes, fool. It's me. " Rowan scoffed.

" I'm not a fool Rowan. Try to be friendly sometimes, it makes you younger you know. " She winked and walked away. " Lest I forget, you missed a lot at the summer camp. Especially with your girlfriend. " She giggled.

" Whatever. " He said and walked away.

" Baby. " A girl screamed and hugged him from behind.

" Jessica, we're in the classroom. " He said softly.

" And? I'll show my love to you everywhere. " She said and pecked his face.

" Pretender. " A girl murmured as she walked past them.

" Pay no attention to them. " Jessica whispered.

" I have a question to ask you. " Rowan said softly.

" It can wait till later. Right now, I have something to give you. " She said and walked him to his seat. She brought out a box and gave it to him.

" What's this?" He asked.

" Something you should open when you get home. " She winked and walked back to her class.

" Don't ever use it if you open that box. " The girl he bumped into earlier said.

" Are you stalking me or what? " He asked.

" I'm too precious to stalk you. I have more important things to do with my time. " She scoffed. " Just don't use it, if you still want to have a life. " She said and sat down.

" Weird!" Rowan murmured and sat down. The first teacher came in and started teaching. They had two more classes before break and Rowan headed to the cafeteria.

" Can I tag along?" His best buddy, Ryan asked.

" You don't need to ask if you're paying. " He said and Ryan chuckled.

" She left?" Ryan asked and he nodded.

" The maid said she hasn't been there since yesterday. " He sighed. " I miss her. "

" She'll come back to her senses one day. Be strong. " Ryan patted his shoulder.

" Thanks. Let's go. You have lots to tell me about the camp. "

" We have lots to talk about. " He smiled inwardly.

" Why does everyone keep telling me that?" He asked no one in particular.

" Because we do have lots to tell you. I don't know why you couldn't make it to the camp, it was free. " A girl said behind them.

" Oh hey fool. " Rowan smirked.

" I'm not a fool. My name is Rihanna. Stick that into your coconut brain. Maybe you need some money too to repair that brain of yours. " She scoffed a d walked away.

" She's such a pest. " Rowan sighed.

" You say that because you haven't tried to speak to her any day. Trust me, you'll change your perspective about her once you do. "

" Whatever. " Rowan laughed but his laugh died down when he saw what was pasted on the wall.
