Chapter 8 He's not that bad

Esmeralda walked to the class with Alexandria who held her firmly so she wouldn't fall. Her knee was still hurt from the kick but she could still walk.

" I'm so sorry Esmeralda. " Alexandria said softly

" It's not your fault. You're a good person. Your brother was kind enough to do just this. " Esmeralda said and Alexa scoffed.

" You say that because I saved you. He was prepared to make sure you couldn't walk again. " Alexa said and she gulped down nothing.

" Oh Alexa, I see you're babysitting our new slave now. " Kristen said in mockery.

" I don't have your time. " Alexa said and pushed her.

" You're not worth my time. I'm gonna make sure Alex thinks of only me soon. He's soon gonna forget that your exist. " She said and Alexa smiled mischievously.

" I'll be waiting. " She smirked.

" What do you mean by that Kristen?" Alex asked behind them and she gasped.

" Oh my Alex! You hard wrong honey, I was only pulling strings with Alexandria. " She said nervously.

" I heard you loud and clear Kristen. She's my sister, I won't tolerate your arrogance towards her. " He said firmly.

" And I'm your girlfriend. " She said seductively trying to hold his neck and he grabbed her arm roughly.

" You're bound to leave one day. She can never leave even if I'm the worse person on earth. " He said staring at Alexa who was still holding Esmeralda. " Are you okay?" He blurted.

" I'm fine thank you. " Esmeralda said lowly.

" I'm sorry. I was too rash. You were only trying to make me see reasons but I let my anger get the better of me. " He said and Alexa gasped.

" Alex are you okay? " Alexa asked.

" Am I okay? I'm more than okay. " He said with a smile and she looked at him confused. Was Alex really sincere or did he have something up his sleeve? Alex on the other was shocked at his apology. He didn't know when he said but he said it.

" Baby why are you apologizing to this thing?" Kristen said and Alex paid no attention to her. He just walked towards Esmeralda and swept her off her feet.

" What are you doing?" Kristen asked annoyed.

" Yes, what are you doing?" Esmeralda asked softly.

" Helping you. I feel guilty for making you hurt so I'm taking responsibility. You're a woman and I shouldn't have done that to you. " He said as he walked to the class. " Don't struggle now that I'm relaxed or you're gonna get me annoyed. " He said and she relaxed.

" Alex what is wrong with you? You're gonna make people assume......." Kristen yelled behind him.

" Let them assume. " He scoffed as he walked into the class and dropped on her seat on the front row. As if he read her thoughts, he whispered in her ears. " I've been watching since you came here. Don't ruin the moment. You're gonna do great for my new album. " He said and walked away to his seat. She was lucky no one was in the hallway when he carried her or they would've swam her seat by now. Only few students were in class and they didn't notice what had happened.

Kristen barged into the class and walked straight to Esmeralda's seat. She tried to pull her hair but she moved and her hand hit the desk behind her.

" You bitch! You'd better stay away from my man. " She yelled and Alexa scoffed.

" Or what? What will you do Kristen? Kill her? Like you did the others? I'm waiting for all your atrocities to be exposed, Kristen. I'm gonna be the happiest girl on the earth that day. " Alexa said and pushed her out of the way.

" Alex aren't you gonna do something?" Kristen asked Alex who brushed past her without saying anything. " Alex! Alex! Aren't you gonna say something?!" She called running after him.

" I hope she didn't hurt you. " Alexa said taking her seat beside her.

" No. " Esmeralda said. The lecturer came in and the class started immediately. They were having strategic management that's why Alex left the class. He hates the course.

" She's trouble. Don't mind her. I can't wait for Alex to break up with her and date you. " She said and Esmeralda smiled. " Can I call you Es?"

" Sure. My brother's gonna be jealous but it's alright. " She said and Alexa chuckled.

" You have a brother?"

" Yes. He's my junior but one look you'll think he's fifty years older. " She said and they both laughed.

" Alex seems hostile to outsiders. Some even call him a monster because of the things he's done because of that slut but he's a totally different person when he's with the one he loves. I fell in love with the wrong person but I'm sure Alex is gonna make sure I forget about him but I can't even if he's a demon with girls, I'll still love him. " Alexa said with a smile.

Alex stood at the rooftop and smiled at he stared down. There was once a time when he would come here with the intent of jumping down but now was different he came here because of the beauty. He could see everything from up here. He felt the presence of someone else at the rooftop and he turned with a frown. He was going to punish the person for disturbing his peace but when he saw who it was he just smiled. He didn't know why he did it but he did, he smiled. Something he rarely does to outsiders. Even Kristen have to try hard before she can see his smile.

" I'm sorry I didn't know you were here." She said with a calm voice. Calmer than usual or was it because he did that to her and now she's afraid of him. He'll have to do that often.

" It's no problem. People rarely come here anyways. You could stay on one side and I'll stay on another. " He said and nodded. He groaned within when he realized what he did. What's happening to him? Why was he like this with her? His phone rang and he stared at it.

" Aren't you gonna take that?" She asked.

" Uh yeah . " He said and hesitantly picked the call. It was his manager. " Hey....... Sure..... I will.... I think I have..... five weeks.... See ya." He said and hung up. His manager had called to remind him about his new album. It was a duet and he hasn't yet found any girl responsible enough to take the duet with him. Not even Kristen, she'd destroy everything like she always had. He wonders why he's still with her. Love maybe really blind as they say. His thought went to the girl beside him. She had nothing but she never let her guard down. She was bold, outspoken and beautiful. He wondered if she has a talent too.

" Esmeralda right?" He asked.

" Yeah. " She said as she exhaled.

" Can you sing?" He asked and she snapped her eyes at him.

" You're asking if I can sing?" She asked.

" Yes. If you can I need your help. "

" I can sing but I'm not an expert like you neither a celebrity. " She said and he chuckled.

" I don't need an expert. I need someone who's not experienced. "

" Is this a plan of yours to humiliate me?"

" I'm not trying to humiliate you. You should be grateful I'm asking for your help. Other girls would grovel at my feet for asking them." He said and she scoffed.

" Well ain't I lucky? I'm not other girls. I'm Esmeralda Montez. " She said and walked away annoyed. What does he take me for?

" Did I say something wrong again? What if I did?" Alex muttered as he shrugged. Kristen hugged him from behind and he scoffed. " Why the f*ck are you stalking me? I asked you to give me some space. "

" So you can run back to her? Never! I know you like her. That's why you're different with her. " She frowned.

" I don't like her. " He said with a straight face.

" I'm not staying away from you. I'm your girlfriend. I'm not letting that girl sing with you. I know you asked her because of the duet. I can sing tok, Alex. Why do you always try to make me feel bad about myself?" She said and he scoffed.

" After you ruined two of my albums because of your clinginess, you expect me to use you again. "

" Then use some other celebrity, anyone but her. "

" You forget that I don't use other celebrities. I use someone with no experience to feature me. "

" Why do you even do that?"

" I'm not as bad as you paint me out to people. I try to help the way I can but you always ruin it. You want to have it all to yourself but you can't. " He said and walked away.

" Alex! Alex! Come back here. I'm talking to you. " She ran after him. Alexa came out of her hiding place and chuckled. She pulled Kristen back and slapped her back. " Never try to underestimate my brother again. " She said and ran after Alex. She put her hand around his neck and pecked him. " You do need a babysitter dear brother. " She said with a wide smile and he smiled even wider.

" Babysit me then little sister. " He winked.

" Little?! You......."

" You're beautiful. " He smirked and she scoffed.

" You always have your way." She murmured and he laughed. The students ghye walked stared in awe. They rarely saw him smile let alone laugh, this was the biggest day in their life to witness the laugh of Alex. Even his laugh is beautiful.
