Chapter 4 Make A Meritorious Contribution

Christine flew into a rage as she lay on the ground, thinking that Rhett had gone too far. What was he doing now?

She struggled to get rid of him, but she failed. Instead, she was pressed more tightly.

Rebecca, standing by the window, frowned when she saw the scene.

On the contrary, the cute young woman Angie Dixon felt it was very interesting.

In a flash, Christine's Lamborghini exploded violently.

The momentum of the explosion was so astonishing that even Caesar and Karl in the villa were startled. They kept barking.

Rhett covered Christine's eyes, tightly protecting her under his body.

His bare back was hit hard several times by some unknown parts of the car.

When the explosion finally stopped, some neighbors, who were rich and powerful, came to watch the fun.

They all looked at the scene curiously, whispering to each other.

Rebecca took Angie's hand and ran out in a panic.

Christine was in a daze for a while. But when she felt Rhett's weight on her body, she realized that he was still on top of her. She said, "Get up."

"Don't get me wrong. I am just afraid that there will be a second explosion," Rhett said and stood up helplessly. He glanced at the beautiful line of Christine's back with affection in his eyes.

Although he spoke so casually, he was actually on alert. At first, he didn't take the task of protecting a campus belle seriously.

To put it plainly, he didn't believe that a college student like Christine would encounter some serious dangers and need special protection. He didn't expect that as soon as he got here, her enemy would give him such a head-on blow.

If he didn't have X-ray vision and find the time bomb under the driver's seat, his employer would have died before he could even officially start working.

After a while, a team of security guards rushed over.

After all, it was a villa district with residents from rich and powerful families. The property manager couldn't be negligent. He had to respond to the situation quickly.

"Who is the owner of this villa? Who can tell us what really happened?" As he asked, the property manager looked at the scene with a stern face.

"We are the ones who live here. The owner of this villa is Latham Stewart. Someone put a bomb in our car, and it exploded just now."

Seeing that Christine was still in shock, Rhett took the initiative to tell the property manager about the situation.

"Someone put a bomb in your car? How can that be possible? It should be the weather that caused the car to spontaneously ignite." The property manager decisively refuted Rhett's words.

Of course, he couldn't just agree with Rhett. People from the upper class cherished their lives so much. If he admitted that someone had easily installed a bomb in one of their residents' car, no one would dare to live in this villa district in the future.

If this happened, the property manager would lose his job.

But the name Latham Stewart sounded familiar to the property manager. He must have heard it somewhere, but he just couldn't exactly remember where.

"Are you blind? The windows of the neighboring houses shattered because of the shock wave, and the car parts flew everywhere. How can it be spontaneous combustion?"

Rhett looked at the property manager, curling his lips. It seemed that this man didn't intend to take this matter seriously.

The manager's face darkened. He was about to say something when he suddenly saw some lights flashing at the gate of the villa district.

Row upon row of police cars drove in with sirens whistling.

When the convoy arrived at the scene of the explosion, the police officers jumped off the cars at once.

They quickly approached the explosion site and cordoned the area.

Then they constantly scanned the debris and the entire area with professional equipment in their hands, showing the professionalism of the police forces.

"Excuse me, are you the owner of this place?" Captain Brown politely asked as he walked up to Christine and the others.

He was personally told by his superior, Mr. Torres, that he must deal with this matter properly, and he shouldn't let his guard down.

Also, he must treat the victims kindly.

So, Captain Brown knew in his heart that the person involved in this accident must be a big shot.

"Sir, it's been so hot these days, so the car must have exploded due to spontaneous combustion." The property manager rushed to Captain Brown and took the initiative to answer.

Upon hearing this, Rhett suddenly turned around. He strode towards the property manager and slapped him on the face.

The property manager was immediately knocked to the ground and passed out.

"Who the hell do you think you are? If you have no idea what is going on here, shut your mouth up," he said, looking at the property manager, who was still lying on the ground, coldly.

Seeing the scene, the onlookers around didn't think there was anything wrong with Rhett's violent attitude.

These rich and powerful people thought that it was only normal for him to vent his anger on the property manager in the face of such a shocking accident.

But they didn't know that Rhett beat the property manager up because the property manager wanted to shirk the responsibility for the poor security. The property manager ignored the severity of the problem and tried to cover it with random reasons.

Captain Brown could only shake his head. Rich people were always capricious.

A few kilometers away from the villa district, another convoy was approaching.

And this convoy looked a little strange. In the middle was a shiny black Mercedes-Benz, surrounded by several off-road vehicles.

Behind the convoy was a slew of police cars. The passers-by looked at them curiously, wondering what was going on.

John Torres, Police Department's deputy commissioner in Navori, looked at the man beside him and shook his head.

What people only knew was that the Stewart Group was a giant, and its CEO, Latham, was omnipotent.

They didn't know that when he encountered a big crisis, he also got nervous like ordinary people. At this moment, he was no longer as calm as usual.

"Latham, don't worry. Our people reported that Christine wasn't hurt. She was saved by a young man."

John tried his best to comfort Latham, his college roommate. They had been friends for decades.

"Christine's mother died when she was a small girl. I'm really afraid that she will be hurt," Latham said, looking at his old friend and sighing.

He was worried, but, at the same time, he also felt a little relieved. Fortunately, the bodyguard recommended by old Mr. Scott had arrived. Otherwise, he really didn't know what would happen this time.

Thinking of old Mr. Scott's ability, he felt much more relieved.

Ordinary people couldn't win old Mr. Scott's admiration. So since he assigned this bodyguard, he must be capable.

At this moment, the property manager slowly woke up. When he saw Rhett talking with the police, he got so furious that he pointed at Rhett with his trembling right hand and said, "Sir, you are the witness to his violence. I will sue him for hurting me. He must be put in jail."

"Shut up!" Rhett slapped the property manager again, and the latter fainted for the second time.

"Mr. Scott, has Miss Stewart offended anyone recently?" Captain Brown hurriedly asked Rhett to divert his attention.

He was secretly annoyed because the property manager didn't know when to advance and to retreat. 'How dare he provoke the resident of a villa here? He is making things difficult for me,' he thought.

"Captain Brown, Christine is just a college student. She can't possibly have conflicts with others. But she was almost kidnapped a few days ago. Fortunately, the kidnappers didn't succeed." Rebecca came over and took the initiative to explain the situation to Captain Brown.

Captain Brown was stunned when he saw Rebecca. He almost couldn't believe that there was such a beautiful woman in this world.

But then he immediately calmed down. He knew she was the kind of woman he couldn't afford to like.

All of a sudden, the villa district was illuminated by beams of car lights. A middle-aged man got out of the car first and rushed to Christine.

When Christine saw Latham, her eyes turned red. And all her grievances turned into tears.

"Christine, don't be afraid. I'm here now," Latham said, looking at Christine up and down. She was still in shock, and there was still a trace of fear on her elegant face.
