Chapter 6 Betrayer In the Pack

Morcant wrapped his hands around the handle of the axe. He raised it up and lowered it to the wood beneath him, slicing it into two.

"Sprawllsh."

That had been his punishment for eating the meat of the mysterious lady. Beads of sweat pigtailed down his face, through to his back.

In fifteen minutes,he was done and he went into the room to clean it. He looked around and saw a brush nearby.

He grabbed and started scrubbing the floor. His veins were visible. The rate at which sweat beads were produced in his body increased.

He was rushing because he had been given thirty minutes to complete the compulsory chores. He had been lucky while splitting the woods cos he had eaten but now he had used his energy.

"Phew!" He sighed as he viewed the room; sparkling clean. Mentally,he commended himself of a job welldone.

He lowered himself to the ground and sat. He thought of his Dad,Mom and Fred too.

A thought crept in, "hope it wasn't the body of Fred I ate? Hope they are not keeping me for another day."

The thought of eating Fred almost made him puke.

He was sad and soon he began to sob.

The lady watched him from a distance and sympathy filled her face. She felt sorry for him.

She coughed and made Morcant raise up his head. She felt emotions cloud my eyes when she saw his face.

His eyes were red.

She walked to him and bent down.

"No one's gonna harm you, Don't worry."

"Really?"

"Yes, what's the name?"

"Morcant."

"Cool,Mine's Gwen."

Gwen sat outside her cabin, enjoying the gentle breeze. She thought of the boy inside. This was the first time she was feeling sorry and concerned for someone.

She noticed the boy was in the same age bracket with her.

Gwen would be twenty by the next full moon which was in thirty days. This year was strange. The full moon came earlier everytime it was supposed to come.

She stood up and walked to the cabin to see the boy.

"How old are you?" She asked

"Nineteen. I'll be twenty in a month's time."

Gwen's eyebrows were raised. This dude was same age as her.

Underground house;

Dallas, Texas;

Ganiz was suspicious...

Suspicious of the werewolf before him.

"Hey Ganiz."

They were sitting on sofas opposite one another.

The wolf was drinking a cup of liquor.

"What do you want?" Ganiz asked

The werewolf dropped his cup,cleaned his mouth and belched. He then answered.

"Partnership."

"With me?"

"Yes. Who else would it be?"

"Really? Are you gonna betray your pack?"

The wolf was silent. His eyes ran all over the room. He sighted a flower.

"What's with the flower?"

He stood up and walked to it. Beside the flower was a musket.

The scent of the flower hit his nose and made him feel dizzy.

He moved back.

"Is that what killed Kim?"

"Yes. "

"What is the name?" He asked. He could feel the hot sensation of the poisonous flower.

Ganiz sighed and said.

"Wolvesbane."

Gwen carried Morcant on her shoulders. She was going to the wolf council house. There was a meeting. She needed to know what to do with Morcant.

She entered and all eyes turned to her. She dropped Morcant to the ground and walked to her seat.

"Welcome Gwen." Drawx greeted but Gwen didn't bother to respond. She wasn't fond of answering greetings.

Her eyes scanned the room. Someone was absent.

"Where's Elder Xavier?"

"He's..."

Just then, Elder Xavier entered, sweating profusely.

"I'm here."

"What do we do with the boy?"

"Dispose him." A wolf suggested.

"That won't be possible." Gwen said.

"Why?"

"Cos he's my mate -- the one Selene promised to bless me with."

Everyone was shocked.
