"Don't be alarmed. Please inform Mathew if you are a victim of bullying. The issue may be brought to my attention if he does not remedy it."

Patrick was reminded of himself by Beckett. Unfortunately, he had never had somebody stand out for him before.

Beckett happily nodded his head. He was a quiet person. He raised his chin in an attempt to show others that he was worthy of Patrick's faith.

Being able to lean on one other was a welcome feeling for them both.

His mind wandered as he surveyed the approximately two-hundred individuals around him.

"When was the last time you got a raise?" Patrick inquired.

"A few years ago. Since Judson was promoted to vice general manager, our salaries had remained flat. To reduce our pay and keep our wages at bay, he enacted several rules at work." An employee with a lot of experience mentioned it right away.

"Beckett, please correct the staff regulations and erase all unnecessary terms."

Beckett immediately rushed to the office to update the rules for staff members.

"It is my duty as the new chairman to ensure that the hotel's history is preserved. In the event that anything goes wrong, I'll have to make it right," Patrick said. "I will offer each of you a 20% raise. In addition, each of you will get an additional five thousand dollars from me as compensation. I'll have to pay for it out of my wallet."

He said he would pay each of them five thousand dollars. At the most, it would cost him one million. He had a credit card with which he might be indefinitely overdrawn. He couldn't care less about the price he would have to pay. However, the hotel's expenses would go up by 20%. But Patrick had a scheme of his own.

"This is my second year here. My wages have finally increased!"

"Five thousand dollars is more than a month's salary! Mr. Nelson, you are so liberal!"

"Mr. Nelson, thank you for your generosity!"

Most employees never enjoyed working for their employers. But there was no way they could detest a generous employer.

The audience erupted in applause after being stunned by what they had just heard. Patrick saw it as a compliment and motivation.

"It is everyone's job to help the hotel grow. I can't do anything without you. It's not an issue when it comes to money. You will be rewarded for a job well done!"

They stood in position and praised Patrick in unison under the instruction of Mathew. They fixed their gaze solemnly on Patrick.

"Thank you, Mr. Nelson."

"Thank you very much! Mr. Nelson."

"Sincerely, thank you, Mr. Nelson."

A half-day off was given to every employee, and Patrick spent the whole morning in the hotel.

Beckett showed Patrick the information in the flash drive.

It was reported that Judson had teamed up with a number of suppliers to sell counterfeit wine at inflated costs. Each time he sold anything, he was paid a commission.

Patrick was also aware of Beckett's true talent. Despite Judson's scrutiny, Beckett was able to obtain all the proof he needed. He also handled about 80% of Judson's workload.

Without Judson's presence, it was safe to presume that Beckett would have already been elevated to general manager.

There seemed to be no issues with the hotel's operations. At first glance, the hotel seemed to be in perfect order.

Prices for cheap food and drink were inflated.

Patrick slammed his hand on the table with a clenched fist. Judson seemed to have gotten off scot-free.

A lot of industrial alcohol was used to spike the phony wine, which made many feel nauseous and worse. Most suffered from stomach perforation.

No apparent regard for human life could be seen in his behavior. When Patrick saw Judson's actions, he was enraged. He would have to hold Judson accountable.

Also, Mathew hadn't been aware of any corruption or law violations in recent years, either. As a result, Patrick fired him. He requested him to hand over his roles at the hotel to Beckett.

In the end, Patrick left everything in the hands of Beckett and other senior managers. Then after, he departed the hotel.

Elvin surreptitiously monitored Patrick and informed Walter of his findings.

"First and foremost, he made a name for himself by dismissing the vice general manager. After that, he hired trustworthy employees." When Walter realized what Patrick had done, he was taken aback. "In order to deal with the issue at the hotel, he uses a combination of incentives and sanctions. An action-oriented leader with a strong work ethic is his style. That's quite an accomplishment, to be honest."

"He's a tremendously driven person, Mr. Nelson," Elvin said. "I told him that he could let the employees handle the hotel. Well, he informed me that anything in life worth doing is worth overdoing."

"Overdoing something worthwhile is the only way to get the most out of it. Wow, that's wonderful. You've got a lot of potential, and I didn't want to waste it on him. As it turns out, I underestimated him. Ensure his safety. He may be able to do something that I was unable to."

In a hospital

In the bed, Judson awoke from a coma. He was put in a cast and couldn't move. He was unable to place himself in the wheelchair without the assistance of his nurses.

He was unable to walk as a result of his injuries. He was only able to control the wheelchair with his hands. Wheelchair tires were left with white scratches after he scraped them with his nails.

"Damn it! Damn it! He'll have to pay the price for what he's done!"

Judson called someone.

"Mr. Cohen, it's been a long time. Who are you going to deal with this time?"

"It's Patrick Nelson, a young guy. I'll give you further details about him. I want you to take one of his legs, no, take both! I want him to be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life!"

"This guy must have angered you considerably, it seems." The man on the other end of the line laughed.

"He shattered my leg!" Judson let out a grunt. His bloated figure was bulging out of the wheelchair.

"We have no say in the matter. We worry about the money, you see."

"It's not an issue when it comes to money. After it's done, I'll hand out as much cash as you like."
