Chapter 10 I Surely Won't Spare You

After Colin came out of the bathroom, he saw Lola lying there while staring at the ceiling. He couldn't help but knit his eyebrows, "Why are you still up?"

Lola tugged at the blanket and wrapped it around her body without speaking. Colin seemed to have understood something and couldn't help but laugh slightly.

Could it be that this girl thought he was a pervert?

Soon, Colin found a blanket out of the cupboard and spread it on the couch. Upon noticing the scene, Lola was relieved secretly.

After the medicine took effect, Lola, who had been tossing around for half of the night, fell asleep soon. While Colin lay there and listened to her shallow breathing, feeling somewhat confused in secret.

The next morning, Lola got up quite late. Upon waking up, she looked at the couch's direction right away.

The couch was neat and tidy, where there were two pillows, no blanket, and no sign of Colin.

Lola crawled up from the bed hurriedly. After all, she was in her husband's family house now. Although she was sick, she felt somewhat shy about staying in bed so late.

After she finished washing up and went downstairs, she passed by the study room and heard Old Master Murphy's snapping voice from inside all of a sudden.

"You must have been messing around outside. That is the reason why Lola was so angry that she fainted! Tell me, how should I explain to the Smith Family if anything happens to her?!"

Old Master Murphy seemed to be so angry that his voice was a little louder than usual, which Lola could hear clearly.

"What on earth is your relationship with that woman?"

"... "

"Is it true that the girl got pregnant?"

Lola stopped, peeked through the doorway, and saw Colin standing quietly in front of Old Master Murphy while lowering his head slightly.

A long while had passed before he spoke in the end with a faint voice, "I don't know if she got pregnant or not. However, I can tell you with certainty that even if she is pregnant, that child will never be mine."

Hearing this, Lola wanted to laugh suddenly. Oh, would Rachel be ignorant as for whose child she was carrying?

Inside the study room, Old Master Murphy sighed in a low voice.

"When Lola was studying abroad before, I turned a blind eye to what you were doing outside. but now that she's back. I only hope that you can restrain yourself and enjoy your life with her."

"And I know it's inevitable that men will find amusement according to the situation while socializing outside. But you have to remember that you've got married and everything has to be done in a proper way. Never should you do anything that will make Lola misunderstand you, okay?"

Colin replied in a low voice, "Hmm."

"Lola is a good child, who is good and sensible. At the first beginning, it took me great efforts to choose her out of many girls. If you dare to make her sad, I surely won't spare you!"

Lola, who didn't continue listening any longer, went downstairs quietly.

Sophie and Abby were sitting in the living room while nipping the bean sprouts. Upon noticing her come down, Abby went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast in a hurry.

After breakfast, Sophie brought out a pile of medicine, "This is what Colin brought from the hospital early in the morning. The doctor said you should take them after the meal."

Abby poured a cup of water and Sophie handed her the medicine hurriedly. Lola was astounded by how they had treated her so attentively.

Looking at the pile of medicine, Lola felt miserable in secret. Ever since she was a child, taking medicine had been ranked number 2 among the things she was afraid of.

Oooh, taking so much medicine would literally kill her!

In the end, she had no choice but to brace herself to cram the medicine into her mouth.

Unfortunately, she was too incapable. The tablets just stuck in her throat directly, choking her into coughing incessantly. She dank up a glass of water before swallowing the medicine.

Only after that did Sophie nod in satisfaction. All of a sudden, she stressed once again, "Colin brought the medicine from the hospital early in the morning!"

Could it be that the reason why Sophie had been standing by her side and observing how she had taken the medicine was that Colin had brought the medicine from the hospital personally?

Lola somewhat wanted to laugh, "I'm sorry for causing trouble to you last night."

"Oh my! What's the point of saying these polite words? After all, we are a family!" Sophie smiled in a hurry, "What I am trying to say is that Colin actually cares much about you, right?"

Lola didn't know how to answer her question.
