Chapter 4 COMFORT AND BUSTED

when I got back to Granny's I headed straight to my room.

what was I supposed to do now ? my only possible reason for living is to have revenge and Grandma is against it too and also I don't even know who to have revenge on .

it's not like I actually saw who killed my family.

I sighed and walked over to the window and stared up at the moon .

I felt like someone was staring at it too so I looked Infront of me and next door was the human from before.

seriously, fate ?! what trick are you trying to pull here ?.

The wisest decision to make now would be to go inside my room and close the window but he looked like there was something bothering him.

he was the first person to care for me so I thought I should repay him back and besides , I was bored at the moment.

" hey !" I called out to him

he looked at me "oh, it's you "

"what's wrong ? you look like someone killed your cat "

" well, today is my Grandma's wake but...my dad forgot . he kept on talking about something else rather "

" ouch, sounds like a not-cool dad"

he laughed" he is actually not cool"

" well, I think I can relate to you a bit. Lost my family today and Grandma wants me to not do anything about it "

" I'm sorry "

" nah, it's cool but heyyyyy, look on the bright side we now share the same wake date "

he laughed. I don't know why . but it was like what I said was funny to him. I was glad i could comfort him though

" I best be heading inside now "

I slowly started closing my window when he said " I'm Tega and you ? "

we've met three times today . first at the forest, then at the arcade and now as neighbors. we share the same date for loosing our loved ones. we were being connected in weird ways and I was getting a bad feeling about it but nevertheless I said " I'm Rayne "

" thanks for comforting me , Rayne "

Tired of all the mixed feelings I was getting, I slammed the window shut

The next morning, I opened my window - to let sun in I told myself not because I wanted to see Tega but he was already there waiting for me

" Goodmorning , Rayne "

" How long have you been there?"

" Well....I..just got here "

Cute, I could tell he was lying. But he was cute nonetheless " okay , well, bye now "

I turned around to walk into my room when Tega shouted" wait ,wait "

I smiled and turned back to face him " what?"

"Are you doing anything later ? We could go by the arcade or something if you want "

Grandma would kill me if I hang out with a human plus I should probably hate humans by now since one of them killed my family but for some reason, I felt like Tega was different .

" Grandma is strict, so I'm not sure if she would let me go . If I'm not there by 1:30 then that means she didn't allow me go "

With that said , I walked into my room, opened the door and went downstairs.

" Grandma?" I called out looking around for her. " Where does she always disappear too ?" I muttered.

This is her house but I'm mostly the one seen here more than her .

My stomach grumble.

I hadn't had any food to eat since I got here. Oh well, I might as well go get something to eat.

But was it safe to leave grandma's house unprotected? What if grandma comes back and find out I'm not here and gets angry ?

I grumbled " I'm hungry. Where the hell did that old woman go off too ?"

I went to her kitchen, thinking maybe I could find some dead rabbit to eat but all I saw were human foods .

I scoffed" don't talk to humans, don't live with humans but yet she eats like them ? "

I took out the bread and put it in a toast machine and waited till it was done. I had prepared some for Grandma too .

When it was ready , I put the toast in a plate and sat down on the table to eat.

" Hmm, it's delicious"

The front door opened and Grandma walked it "Grandma , this food is really delicious. I prepared some for you too over there " I said pointing to the toast on the kitchen counter .

Grandma just looked at me - out of anger I think .

Uh-oh, was I not supposed to eat the bread?" Sorry, I ate the bread because I was hungry and -"

" Who was that human boy you spoke with last night?"

I freezed

Uh- oh
