Chapter 9 Meeting my Family

Chapter 9.

I asked Potiphar "Potiphar, why did I leave home". He only smiled and did not answer. He promise to tell me when we got home. There was a little girl mother carried on her back. It was promise. I asked Potiphar " which home "?.When my house is already demolished. I mean our home said Potiphar. I said" o - okay" in a stammering voice .Shall we move now? Said promise.

I smiled at her, and said Promise,"I am sorry ".Sorry for everything. She smiled at me and didn't say anything much. She only said I am not angry with you small mummy. Thank you for accommodating me in your house even when my step mum sent me out

of the house.

" Your step mum? "Was the only word I could utter from mouth. She said " yes my step mum".After mum died, Dad thought that it would be a great idea of marrying a new wife to take care of us...

Oh yes! That was the new beginning of my life then. I started to recall and I even remembered that my step mum's name was Rose. Mrs Rose had always maltreated me except her son, Potiphar. We do call him ''pot pot'' because he loved eating in the pot but his mum always scolded us when we were not with Father.

Richard cuts in and said ''Let's go home in this car''. I asked Pot Pot who owned car we were to drive in..... He said it was Dad's car. I, Potiphar, and Promise entered into the car. Potiphar was the one who drove the car. When we got to the T-junction on the highway, there were pot-holes, if there was another word to describe the plural of potholes, I would have given it.

I asked Potiphar why I ran away from home because I knew little. Potiphar said it was because of my dream I ran away from home. He said my dream was to be a fashion designer but Dad didn't agree because he wanted you to be under his business line. He didn't want me to become a fashion designer but his business line only? I asked Potiphar....

Potiphar's POV...

Yes, dad was involved in fishery business. My mum,I mean your step mum was the one who made dad push you out of the house.

Step mum only showed love to you when she was just newly wedded by dad.After three months of showing love to you,she started beating you and maltreating you but whenever your dad was around, she never dared touching you.

She had always given you heeps of clothes to wash,both the clean ones and the dirty ones.She never let you to rest.You were barely given food twice a day.

Yes,I knew I had always been maltreated,I knew how mum died.Mum died because of the day that,dad had talked about my dream(wanted I wanted to do).I was twenty years then. My dad shouted at me,while my mum was just the peace maker.I made my way out of the house and when mum dragged me back, she held my hand so I took her hands away and she hit her head on the nylon wall.

Dad who had been shouting, stopped shouting he rushed towards Mum, so did I .

This was how mum landed at the hospital. The doctor said she had a brain tumour before now and also had breast cancer. Dad blamed me on that day and I also blamed myself. It was since then, Dad grew hatred for me.
