Chapter 2 Official Sack letter

I quickly got out of the house not minding if I had taken my bath, rushing to work because I was already late for work. I worked at Mrs Benes cafe. Mrs Benes was such a strict woman so I tried as much as possible not to step on her nerves but on getting to the shop, she paid me my salary in full cash and it was strange to me because Mrs Benes paid her salaries on every twelfth (12th) of the month.I sensed that there was trouble until when the voice came'' I do not need your services any longer''.

Since last week you haven't been coming late to work and I queried you already but you promised me that if I gave you a second chance , you were not going to come late to and anymore.

I tried to control myself but the tears kept rolling down my cheeks, then there was silence for 20minutes until a voice broke the silence.

"Pamela, you did not cook at home and I guess you've got some money at hand so, you could just buy me a cup of coffee .

It was Parmer's voice. I became annoyed but since there was no food at home and I was also hungry, I decided that we could still take coffee at Mrs Benes shop.

Mrs Benes had a little slot at the back of the cafe where I learnt tailoring/ fashion designing. I did not work as a waitress in the cafe but designed clothes she had made/ sewn. I made emboderies to her client's dressings and so I got a lot of comments for that. After we had coffee,we left for my home. I cooked vegetables and so we are it along with fruits and a glass of pineapple drink for each of us. When I got home, I remembered that the previous day, Mrs Benes had already given me 30 dollars and then gave me a letter which I didn't remember to read but as the memory came to me, I remembered that I gave it to her but she returned it back to me instead. So I had no choice than to collect it on that day. I had sleepless nights just because I lost my job. Parmer was already asleep so I didn't even know when I dozed off to sleep.

After some months, like about three or four months, when parmer woke up, he had been staring at me for some minutes which I couldn't count until he slapped me on my face. I was so frightened so I quickly opened my eyes very clearly and when I realized that it was potiphar,( his name was also parmer), I made my way to return my own slap also. But heard him shouting at me saying ina loud voice as if he was giving orders to me.

'' I am hungry, don't you know that you have to wake up as early as possible to prepare my food? Look at the time now, take a look at you self, it is already 11am''.

I was so very much amazed and wondered if it was the same guy who stabbed me that spoke to me to my face right now or the guy who made me lose my job or the guy who stabbed me and told me to keep his secret of being the available suspect of a murder case and the guy who told me he was looking for his lost sisters whom I am still making up my mind to help him find his sisters.

I shouted back at him saying " Take a look at your self, you are man who can't fend for yourself".
