Chapter 9 Wilson's Icy Reception

After a while, the bartender returned with a young woman. As soon as the woman entered the room, she instantly overshadowed all the other women present.

A pair of black eyes gleamed like crystals on her small oval face. Her nose was fine and delicate while her rosy lips shone temptingly. Her long curly burgundy hair added to her overall charm. The gaudy dress she was wearing did not diminish her charm in the slightest, instead it seemed to enhance it. The short sleeveless V-necked purple dress was so tight that it showed off all the curves on her slender figure.

For a moment, she had the attention of everyone in the room!

"Oh, it's her! It's her!" Colin said excitedly to Wilson as he jumped up from the sofa. "So, I guess she's the reason you are here!"

"Ahem..." With a slight cough, Nova signaled Colin to keep quiet.

Judith was smart enough to realize that Wilson had taken a special liking to the girl. She gave Isabel a bottle of wine and winked at her. "Take good care of this gentleman tonight, Issy. Make sure he enjoys his time here!"

Then she pushed Isabel towards Wilson.

Wilson couldn't restrain his heart from beating with excitement even as he squinted at Isabel with mocking indifference.

'It is her! It really is her!'

Her seductive dress and face covered with heavy makeup could not hide the innocence and purity in her eyes. She was like an orchid blooming in a dark corner, and it made people feel that she didn't belong in such a place.

Isabel was momentarily stunned when she glimpsed the cold stare Wilson was giving her. She had never met a guest like this! He was not looking at her with admiration or lust, like the other men. Instead, he scanned her icily. She felt like she could also glean sadness and mockery in his eyes! But he had to be mocking himself, not her.

Isabel tried her best to remain calm. After convincing herself that she had nothing to be scared of, she stepped forward and sat down next to Wilson. She looked calm and beautiful, as she deliberately ignored Wilson's icy reception. Sitting side by side, they both looked like the perfect match. Whereas she was petite and slender, he was tall and muscular.

She poured a glass of wine and raised it in a toast to the three men in the room, as she secretly guessed their identities. Who were they? They had to be important for Judith to cancel her appointment with Mr. Hong and ask her to entertain them instead.

And the cold and somewhat frightening man sitting next to her was someone whom her boss had specially asked her to serve well. Right now, he silently sipped his drink while his cold and bewitching eyes held a hint of mischief. She trembled slightly as he continued looking at her in silence.

Although she acted like she wasn't fazed by the cold reception, she still couldn't dare to look him in the eye. She concentrated on filling up his wine glass. But still, this simple action that she had carried out for years with ease suddenly felt tedious under his cold gaze.

"Hi, I'm Isabel Lan. You can just call me Issy. It's nice to meet you," she said in a gentle and pleasant voice, with a faint smile, as she raised her glass. Then she took a sip.

She didn't like drinking but she normally took a few sips whenever she proposed a toast. Fortunately, her pretty face was enough for the guests to let her get away with it. They even preferred if she didn't drink too much, anyway. They were easily satisfied just as long as she had one drink with them. She was well-known for her beauty. Among her clients were celebrities, rich businessmen, and politicians who bragged about her company. The competition for her was so fierce that some even waited in line every night for nearly a month just to see her.

In fact, it could summarily be said that she made the nightclub famous instead of the other way around.

Ever since she got into this business, she had stuck to her principle of never getting entangled with her guests, no matter how much they offered her. And she had been successful in doing so. This was what differentiated her from the other girls in the nightclub.
