Chapter 7 Dignity

H Town is small and remote. As night fell, a corner of the town was still bustling with activities. Lots of neon lights illuminated the noisy and intoxicating atmosphere. Groups of men and women were dotted all over, their shouts and laughter adding to the cacophony of noise. Seductively-dressed prostitutes hung out among the crowd, as they patiently waited for clients to fall into their lairs.

This odd mix was common at the "Heaven and Earth" nightclub - the biggest of its kind in the town. Its reputation had spread far beyond the confines of this small town. Even those who couldn't point out H Town on the map knew the Heaven and Earth nightclub.

In the dressing room, Isabel sat in front of her bright mirror, staring at her reflection with her crystal black eyes. Her silky black hair was dyed in a big wine red perm, and her beautiful face was covered in thick makeup. Isabel gently touched her cheek with her slender fingers and smiled blankly. She could barely recognize herself. This was no longer her face. It had been transformed into a canvas!

Isabel hated putting on makeup. But she had to get used to it since she worked in this industry. Makeup made her feel like she was wearing a mask. It was this mask that gave her the courage to play a role she abhorred.

Isabel worked every night, surrounded by men. Her smiles and makeup were the perfect cover for her true emotions.

The men all drooled over her beauty while the owner of the nightclub greedily hoped that she could earn more money. No one saw her as a real person! The men treated her like a plaything, and her boss saw her as a cash cow.

This had gone on for so long that Isabel had forgotten what it was like to be human, one with dignity and pride. Isabel always showered the men with her full attention. It was expected of her since she was working in the nightclub. However, she refused to have sex with any of those men. It was the last shred of dignity she fiercely clung to.

She really didn't have much resistance in this area as the men were only too willing to comply with her resolve. They treated her delicately. But it was not out of the goodness of their heart. They didn't want to break her so soon, and so, they were willing to play around with her for a longer time. Humans always desire what they can't have, and this was no different for the men. Isabel was a precious bait that they were content to toy with for as long as she still held their interest.

Isabel was quite aware of this fact but she was not daunted. She knew she could bravely face whatever changes that might come her way in this line of work. Besides, hope was still buried deep in her heart. Isabel had a sister in London who was fighting to actualize her dream. The thoughts of her sister, who closely resembled her, always made her happy.

Isabel remembered how giddy she had felt when her sister had left. As far as she was concerned, she had also traveled with her sister to London. Her sister's dream was also her dream. Her sister was talented and smart, and all of Isabel's hopes rested on her. Back at home, Isabel took good care of their brother and grandmother so her sister could fully concentrate on her studies.

"You can do this, Isabel!" Isabel patted her cheeks as she looked in the mirror and smiled confidently again.

A black Lamborghini stopped in front of the nightclub disgorging three men from the car. The men were quite tall and handsome, with an air of dominance around them. Their appearance caused quite a stir in the club and they soon had the attention of most of the girls.

All three of them stood out from the crowd in their elegant outfits and stately posture. They had almost all the women infatuated with them. For the experienced women among them, they could immediately tell that these newcomers were first-class preys.
