Chapter 9 A New Treasure In Archaeology Department

The moment Terrence opened the door, he ran into Ansley.

After being criticized by Ted, he was in a bad mood and was not paying attention to where he was going. When he almost bumped into her, he was about to lose his temper. However, when he raised his head, he was dazzled by her appearance.

"You... Oh... I'm sorry." His attitude changed so quickly.

"Are you hurt?" Terrence asked politely.

"Excuse me, please let me pass." Ansley didn't want to talk to him that much.

Terrence was rendered speechless. After a while, he smiled awkwardly and hurriedly stepped back to open the door.

Ansley was only one hundred and seventy centimeters tall, so she only reached the tip of Terrence's nose. When she passed by him, her faint fragrance lingered in his nose like the floral fragrance with morning dew in the mountains.

For a moment, he was a little infatuated with her.

"Ansley, you are finally here." Ted heard her voice outside, so he rushed over excitedly.

Ansley? Wasn't it the name of their new classmate? With this thought, Terrence's eyes instantly regained clarity. His infatuation with her vanished at once. He glanced at her back and gently closed the door.

Ansley knew that Terrence wouldn't simply leave. After all, he was a coward and stupid man, and he harbored evil intentions.

Knowing that he was just hiding behind the door, she put her right hand behind her back and snapped her fingers. He couldn't hear anything anymore.

"Professor Song, we can start now." She sat down and leaned back on the chair, looking very calm.

Seeing the expression on her face, Ted felt that she was being overconfident. How could she possibly have a good command of archaeology in three days? He knew that it was not easy to have one more student in Archaeology Department, so he needed to persuade her with more patience.

"Ansley, as you can see, the food and accommodation in Imperial University are really good. If you don't want to live with other students, I can apply for a single room for you. Why bother..." But before he could finish his words, Ansley interrupted him, "Professor Song, let's stick to what we have agreed three days ago." She then stood up and walked towards his desk.

Ted didn't expect that Ansley was so stubborn. He was about to say something when she suddenly picked up the notebook on the table.

"The Northern Culture, named after the Northern Ruins of TZ City in S Province, is mainly distributed on the north and south sides of T Mountain and in the river basin of W River and S River. It was between 5500 BC and 4200 BC. Its main feature is that the houses are oval, circular, and semi-crypt. The tombs are rectangular and buried in vertical holes," Ansley narrated confidently. She talked so smoothly and naturally as if she was only talking about the past with Ted.

Ted had just begun studying the Northern Culture recently. And although some people had studied it before, they didn't give so much explanation. In fact, there was only a little information about it in the market. How did she know it so clearly?

He stared at her amazingly while she kept talking without ceasing. He felt more and more excited.

"Ansley, please stop for a moment," Ted interrupted.

Ansley stopped talking, stared at him, and asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Ted opened his bookcase, took out an old and shabby notebook, and handed it to her with his trembling hand.

"Ansley, take a look at this."

Ansley took the notebook. After browsing through it for a while, she almost threw it and wanted to leave.

What she had been afraid of had already happened. That day she came into contact with archaeology, she discovered that it was nothing more than things about ancient times. Now, this group of people studied it again.

The reason why it only took her three days to memorize all the ancient cultures of H Country was that she had witnessed and experienced most of them. She just needed time to recall and sort out those memories.

For example, she didn't know why these people regarded the emperor in her time as a tyrant. As far as she could remember, the emperor was so cute when he was a child.

How could he become a tyrant? In his thirty-seven years as emperor, he had never killed a general or a minister wrongly. Could that be considered a tyrant? Besides, he gave prisoners forty days off every time it was a busy season on the farm.

Therefore, the conclusions of the people from the later generations were wrong.

But now, she didn't care about the emperor anymore. What she worried about the most had happened.

Ansley once again took a look at the notebook that Ted handed to her and frowned.

"Five hundred years ago, there was a dissolute and notorious imperial master named Bonnie. After her death, she was cursed and scolded by the people for a long time." The spiritual power around Ansley surged, and the horrifying pressure made Ted feel a little out of breath.

When she caught a glimpse of his pale face, she restrained her aura.

"Aren't you an expert in archaeology? What do you think of Bonnie?" Ansley's cold voice resounded through the office.

Ted didn't care about the physical discomfort he was feeling right now anymore. Of course, he wanted to talk about Bonnie. Judging from Ansley's reaction, he could tell that she knew about Bonnie.

It seemed that he had already forgotten that she was a student. He began to talk endlessly. It was as if he had met a bosom friend.

"I honestly don't think that Bonnie is lascivious," Ted said seriously, looking into Ansley's eyes.

Ansley's eyes lit up upon hearing it. At least, there were still wise people in the world.

But much to her dismay, what he said next displeased her.

"According to the investigation of posterity, although Bonnie had hundreds of handsome men, she did not have a child. She was totally single from the beginning to end."

Surprised, Ansley was morose and silent. It seemed that Ted had also gotten the wrong information about Bonnie. She really couldn't stand it anymore and wanted to leave immediately. If he kept talking about it, she was afraid that she couldn't help but pry open his head to have a look. Why would an archaeologist like him say such ridiculous words?

"Professor Song, please stop. I've already given you information about the Northern Culture that you are currently studying. So it's time for you to fulfill your promise." Her brows furrowed, and there was a hint of impatience in her voice.

Ted stopped talking and shook his head. "No, you can't. The other professors of the Archaeology Department are not here now. I can't make a decision by myself. Besides, I want to verify what you said about the Northern Culture first. What if you are just lying to me?"

Ansley was so annoyed by his words that she didn't know what to say. Was she being distrusted now because she had played tricks on many people?

People nowadays were really sly.

She got more furious when she saw the complacent look on his face.

"Professor Song, you're really good," Ansley said through clenched teeth.

Ted wasn't sure if he was only imagining things, but he felt that Ansley was not a student. He was even shocked by her pressure and aura when she spoke.

Watching her leave angrily, he smiled shrewdly and took out his phone.

"Hello? Have you finished exploring there? Ha-ha! Come back as soon as you're done. We have a new treasure in the Archaeology Department." Ted then laughed happily.
