Chapter 7 Her Turn Has Passed

After Ansley left the Luo family's villa, she went to Yan Group to see Wilson. But right now, she was looking at Conor's handsome face.

"How did you get here?" Conor asked with a frown.

"By my feet," Ansley answered.

Of course, he knew that she walked in here with her feet. Could she possibly fly up here?

"What do you want here?" Conor asked, staring at Ansley warily.

"Where is Wilson?" she asked instead of answering his question.

'She's looking for our boss? Why is she looking for him?' Conor thought to himself. He looked at Ansley up and down. Why did he feel like this woman in front of him right now was the same woman that Wilson mentioned yesterday?

"Why are you looking for Mr. Yan? What do you want from him?"

"We're getting married."

Conor was utterly dumbfounded.

He even almost bit his tongue.

"You... You will get married?"

Ansley nodded with a stern look on her face. She was about to ask Wilson's whereabouts again when she suddenly caught a glimpse of the clock on the wall.

It was already eight fifty-five.

She had to go to Imperial University at nine o'clock.

Well, since Wilson was not here, she would come back another day.

"I have to go now. But please, ask him if he has thought about it already. I need his answer when I come back."

Conor nodded mechanically and watched Ansley leave in a hurry.

The Imperial University had hundreds of years of history. It was a beautiful university that every corner had accumulated culture and time.

Ansley stood in front of the university gate and looked at the name signage with a frown.

'What? I can't believe it. I just wrote down the name of Imperial University casually at that time. But now, they even carved it into a plaque, ' she thought to herself.

She didn't expect that the school she looked down upon before had grown this big. And she was even about to become a student here.

What a coincidence! Fate really knew how to play tricks sometimes.

Ansley stepped down from her Segway scooter and went straight to the office building, rolling up the fallen leaves on the corridor.

Actually, the current principal looked down on the Luo family. But because of the friendship between the previous principal and the Luo family, he pulled some strings for Ansley. However, his patience was limited.

The Luo family's appointment with him was at nine o'clock. There were only less than thirty seconds left now before the time.

Ten seconds... Five seconds...

Just when he felt gratified that he had a valid reason to refuse to accept Ansley without offending the previous principal, someone suddenly pushed the door of his office open.

"I'm Ansley." A pleasant female voice resounded through his office.

At the last second, Ansley showed up.

The principal hurriedly pushed his eyeglasses, looking very dignified.

"You've kept me waiting for a while. You are really putting on airs."

"Our appointment is at nine o'clock. I'm just on time."

Ansley was right. Her timing was actually perfect.

The principal didn't know what else to say. He started to explain the courses that the university offered and gave Ansley three options to choose from.

They were mining engineering, animal and plant protection, and archaeology.

'What are these?' Ansley asked inwardly. She couldn't help but frown while looking at the document in front of her.

"Nothing else?"

The principal was furious. Did Ansley think that she could just pick and choose here? Their university was not a market. And she really dared to ask if there were more courses to choose from?

"No, that's all," he replied impatiently.

Ansley nodded and pointed her slender finger on the word archaeology.

"This one."

Following where her finger pointed, the principal sneered in his heart.

After all, Ansley was just an illegitimate daughter of the Luo family. He didn't expect her to be cultured and refined. It so happened that this course was so unpopular that it didn't have any enrollees yet. The professors in this course had even kept on pestering him all day long. This time, they wouldn't make trouble for him anymore.

It was killing two birds with one stone.

The principal was so happy that he asked someone to go through the enrollment procedures for Ansley.

Looking at the admission slip in her hand, Ansley could only hold back her anger.

Even ten jars of peach blossom wine couldn't make her feel any better right now.

She had actually become a student, and she couldn't do anything about it.

Ansley stepped on her Segway and wobbled along the road to look for the building of the Archaeology Department. When she arrived there through the help of the signs along the way, she gently knocked on the door.

"Come in," said an old man's voice from the inside.

Ansley pushed the door open and handed her personal datasheet to the professor. His name was Ted Song, and he was currently immersed in his research.

"I've told you that I'm not satisfied with your homework. Even if this course is optional, you still have to take it seriously."

After a while Ted Song found, out of the corner of his eye, that the person he spoke to was not about to leave, so he looked up at her.

It was only then that he realized that the female student in front of him didn't look familiar at all.

"You are?" Then he suddenly saw the document in Ansley's hand with the words "Department Of Archaeology" written on it.

Ted Song stood up excitedly, took the document from her, and read it carefully. The more he read, the more that he couldn't conceal the excitement in his eyes.

"You... You've chosen archeology? You've actually chosen archeology!"

Ansley coughed awkwardly. She was confused by Ted Song's reaction.

"Well... can I discuss something with you?"

She didn't come here to play, let alone study.

Ted Song was so happy that he finally had a student. Thinking that Ansley was a delightful student, he pulled her to sit down.

"What is it? Tell me." As he spoke, he looked at her with a smile.

"I will have commendable grades in my exams."

Ted Song was delighted to hear it. It seemed that Ansley was ambitious. He liked ambitious students the most.

"But I won't live in this school, and I won't attend any classes."

The smile on Ted Song's face froze.

When he regained his composure, he asked, "What did you say?" He stood up quickly. The peaceful sense of intimacy in the room soon disappeared without a trace. He seemed to have turned into a totally different person all of a sudden.

"Ansley, I hope you understand that you've chosen this course by yourself. Do you know why this course is so unpopular? It's because it is difficult. It's a very complicated subject. When you put your knowledge into practice, you will know that it is a lot more difficult than you have imagined."

Ted Song thought that even if Ansley studied hard with him, she might not get a satisfactory grade in the final exam. How much more if she wouldn't attend her classes? Did she think this was a child's play?

He pulled a long face. Students who didn't show any respect to their courses were the ones he hated the most.

Despite her status, Ansley didn't forget that Ted was her professor. So she became more patient with him.

"Don't worry, I'll come back to you after three days. If I can't answer your question, then I will stay in school."

Whether she was serious or not, Ted Song agreed directly.

But he wanted to laugh. Was she sure that she could make it in three days? She thought too highly of herself, didn't she? It would already be great if she knew a thing or two about archeology. How dare she boasted her knowledge so arrogantly! Ted Song was afraid that Ansley would only make a fool of herself.

Indeed, young people nowadays were really impulsive and vigorous. He didn't want to embarrass her, but she left him with no choice.

Ansley found it hard to leave Ted Song's office. When she finally managed to escape, she was relieved that her ears were free from the noise.

She was way much older, but she was nagged by someone from the younger generation. The more she thought about it, the more ridiculous she felt. It seemed that her turn had passed.

Wilson had just finished his meeting. On his way back to his office, he happened to see Conor pacing back and forth.

Upon seeing him, Conor furtively walked up to him in a hurry.

"Sir, I seem to have seen the woman you mentioned yesterday," Conor said in a low voice.

Wilson's eyes lit up at once.

"Where is she?"

"She's at the door of your office."

She came again? It seemed that she couldn't wait any longer. He thought that she was different from the other women he knew. But it seemed that they were all just the same. Too eager to get what they wanted.

Wilson hurriedly went to his office. But much to his dismay, Ansley wasn't there anymore. "Where is she?" he asked Conor again.

"Maybe she already left."

She was gone? Was it so? But people like her wouldn't stop until they got what they wanted, right? Perhaps she wasn't the woman who pestered him yesterday.

"Oh, by the way, she has left a message for you.

She wants to know if you've already thought about it. If you agree or not."

Wilson was rendered speechless. Of course, he knew what she meant.

So, it must be her!

"Check on her."

Wilson had asked his father, and he found that his father didn't send any women to approach him recently. And he had been wondering where Ansley could come from.

Whatever her purpose was, he didn't care. He would never let anyone manipulate him.

Soon, Conor handed a piece of information to Wilson about the illegitimate daughter of the Luo family.

"She was an illegitimate daughter who suddenly appeared in Luo family?"

But it seemed that Ansley's background was so perfect that Conor didn't find any flaws.

"Ansley Luo..."

Wilson faintly felt that this illegitimate daughter of the Luo family had a much bigger conspiracy.

Ansley had no idea that Wilson had already checked on her, and he was now suspicious of her. Anyway, even if she knew, she would probably just smile.

As long as she didn't want the world to know her true identity, no one could extract a nugget of information about her.

When Ansley came back to the Luo family's villa, she didn't bother to look at Andres' livid face. She went upstairs, closed the door, and began to meditate. The members of the Luo family were happy that she always stayed in her bedroom. They didn't care whether she wanted to come out or not. For them, it would be great if she starved to death in her room.

Ansley looked through dozens of books quickly. As she flipped the pages, every word and sentence filled her mind like spells. She didn't eat or drink anything for three days. All she did was stay in her room and read all the books about archeology in the world.

Ansley closed the book, lay on the bed, and sighed.

It seemed that she wasn't good at studying at all.

'I've already suffered so much for you in this world. Wilson, if you still don't agree to marry me, I will have to take you away forcibly, ' she thought to herself.
