Chapter 9 Behind Her Mask

Collin Jace's POV:

I found myself watching the girl that sitting beside me, My boss. I saw the pain and hatred in her eyes, I can't believe that behind her fierce look, she's suffering inside.

The first time I met her, I was stunned by her eyes. Her eyes look so charming but I can see that she's strict. I can't believe that there are girls like her who exist in this world. Yes, my wife is beautiful but I can't deny the fact that she's more stunning.

I have a wife and I felt that I'm cheating. I don't understand every move that I'm doing when I'm with her. Sometimes I will just be surprised that I did that. I know, it's weird.

"My life became miserable because of them and I will never give them my forgiveness" Her voice is full of madness. I wanted to help her, I marked in my mind while staring at her.

One of I noticed about her is she's not crying, I don't want to see her crying but when she tells me her past, I felt her pain. I wanted to hug her but she might get mad.

Almira...

I glance at her when I remember that her sister that named Almira, but I know she's not referring to ny wife.

Almira is the name of my wife.

"Your sister's name is Almira?" I asked to confirm it, She stops for a while and has a single glance at it.

"Yes, Her name is so soft, right? but she's the devil. She and her mother, I'm sure that they're going to suffer" She's like waves in the sea, seems so quiet but you can't mess up with her. She's dangerous.

In a Short time, I already know her. She's the woman that you will kneel when she said. Her eyes can kill, her mouth can hurt, and can let you feel embarrassed when she wants to. To be brief, you can't mess up with her.

"Your Dad doesn't want you to take revenge" I uttered that made her glance at me. I shut my mouth because she might be mad at me. Her fierce look is normal to her, anyway.

"Devil will not go to learn if they didn't get a lesson. I will make them suffer because I wanted to and no one can change that"

She has one word. When she says that it will happen, it should be happening. She looks so strong but she's soft inside. I can see that she have a good heart despite all that she's saying.

She can kill you through her mouth and words but she will never let her hands get bloodstains.

"Do you think your Dad is happy in what he's seeing?" She remains looking at the sea. I breathe heavily and bit my lips. Why I can't shut nu eyes, I'm sure she will be mad at me any minute now.

"Oh, sorry" I apologize but she didn't answer me. I'm afraid that she gets mad at me and just fired me.

My daughter is taking a medication, She's suffering from a disease. That's why I badly needed this job.

"It's alright. How about yours? Do you have any problem with your family?" I glance at the sand and let out a heavy sigh.

"We have financial problems because my daughter is taking medication" I smiled bitterly and glance at her, She's looking at me in surprise.

"You have a daughter? S-so it means, you have a w-wife?" I nodded and glance at the sea again, I'm confused by her reaction. She didn't read my application form?

"I don't want to leave my family because I used to be with them. They are my life, they're the one who's giving me happiness. I can't live without them but we need money, My daughter has therapy every month and we need a hundred thousand every month. That's why I accept the offer of being a secretary even it's in Manila" I don't know her reaction because I'm looking in front. I don't want her to see the sadness in my eyes.

"How old is your daughter, currently?" She whispers that made my face created a genuine smile. She's a big girl now and beautiful like her Mom.

"Ten, She's ten years old" We filled silence for a minute and we didn't do anything. What I'm only hearing is the waves of the sea, and the birds chirping in the tree nearby to us.

"Let's go, Mr. Sandoval. We need to go back in the company" She strictly uttered that made me stand up in instant.

I don't understand her mood, sometimes.

"Ms. Selveria, Patty is calling" It's like I need to call her too like that, how she called me. She's now in her fierce look and looks like she doesn't have a hurtful past.

She looks so strong.

Her brows furrowed and gesture me to answer the call. I gave her car keys when she told me to.

"Ms. Patty, Good afternoon" She's walking on the other line that's why I keep quiet and wait for her to talk.

"Are you with Ms. Selveria?" I glance at Ms. Urizele who's currently opening the door of her car.

"Yes, why?" I open the door of the shotgun seat and set my seatbelt on me.

"Can you give her the phone even just for a minute?" I agreed and hand the phone to Ms. Urizele. She furrowed her brows first before she accepts the call.

"Patty-Yes, Why? Alright, We're now on our way" She whispers something before she starts the engine.

"Are you okay, Ms. Uriz- Silveria?"I notice that she's annoyed because her brows are furrowed again.

It's her normal.

" What did you call to me?"She strictly asked while eyeing the road. I swallowed greedily and look in front.

"Ms. Selveria" I clear my voice, I almost forgot that she doesn't want to call by her second name.

"Don't you dare call me again like that" I nodded slowly and look outside. Her presence always affecting me. I think it's alright because she's my boss.

Every step of her is heavy when we're walking in the hallway of the company. I'm about to open the door of the conference room for her when she does that by herself.

I step inside and walk next to her. Another board of directors was there and the investor was sitting on one chair.

But I realized what's happening when I saw Mrs. Selveria inside of the conference room, she's sitting in Ms. Urizele's seat.

"Oh, My dear daughter. You're here now. I thought you enjoyed your hang out with your Secretary and you forgot that you have met-

Ms. Urizele cut her Mom's words and gave her a serious look.

" What are you doing here?"Mrs. Selveria smiled sweetly, She looks so kind and innocent outside. If I just didn't know her past I will believe that she's a caring and loving Mother.

"The same question again?-Oh we'll Since My daughter is having a rest. As her loving Mom, of course, I'm willing to be her substitute even just for today or more better-If I will take your position, What do you think?"

Ms. Urizele chuckles that made her Mom brows furrowed. The people inside of this room are quiet. Seems they're afraid of their boss.Even the investor.

Ms. Urizele is not afraid to not attend a meeting with investors, she is not afraid of the lost one. She even reasoned out that she can provide and work for her company alone. I believe at her, Her companies are at the top of ratings. The investor was the one encouraging her to agreed on an agreement with her.

"Do you see yourself sue by the guards outside of My Company? Is it happy right? What do you think?" She sarcastically uttered that made Mrs. Urizele shut. She fakes a cough and glared at Ms. Urizele

"You still need to respect your Mom, Hailey" She uttered with an authority, her face seems so serious now.

"Then Respect me the way you wanted me to respect you. Respect me as the CEO of this company"More powerful she uttered and went near to her mother.

" I will go now but don't forgot that I will be back again" Mrs. Selveria uttered but Ms. Urizele's words made her stop walking.

"You go back because of the Company and Money, right?" Ms. Urizele uttered not looking at her Mom. Mrs. Selveria turned around and face her daughter's back.

"Yes, the things that should be mine, I just want to get what's mine" Ms. Urizele chuckles again and turned around. She directly glances at her Mom.

"If~if it's yours, Do you think I'm that stupid, Mrs. Sel-Oh What is it again?" She sarcastically uttered that made Her Mom stunned. She glared at her before she turns around and walks away.

Ms. Urizele breathes heavily and looks at the board of directors.

"Apology for the scene a while ago let's start?" They all nodded and check their papers on the desk.

They started to give each other's opinions and suggestions and I keep standing there beside Ms. Urizele.

She's so professional when it comes to working. Even what happened a while ago, she became calm and classy. I watch her mouth in every word that she's letting out while discussing. There are times her brows will furrow and became serious. There are the times she's biting her lips, she's doing that when she's thinking.

She looks cute when she's doing that. I let out a sigh and remember the face of my wife, I smiled. Yeah, my wife is much cuter than Ms. Urizele.

But she's more stunning. I glance at my boss that still talking. I watch her every gesture, I don't know why I'm smiling right now.

"Mr. Sandoval, Are you okay?" I glance at my boss and My smile faded when I realized that their all attention is on me right now. I changed my expression in seriousness before I answer.

"Yes, Ms. Selveria.I'm okay" She nodded and they continue discussing again. I didn't smile again so I will not be a distraction in their meeting.

They're in the middle of discussing when they got stop again. Someone's phone is ringing. I close my eyes when I realized that it's mine.

"Mr. Sandoval" She strictly uttered not looking at me. I forgot to power off my phone before I came inside of the company.

"Apology, Ms. Selveria.May I ask to go out first?" She let out a heavy sigh but she didn't answer me. I considered that as a yes maybe she's annoyed at me right now but my wife is calling, I know it's an emergency. She's not calling when she knows that I'm at work.

I instantly go out of the conference room and go to the hallway where there are no people.

"Hon, Sorry to call you right now but-

" Hon, it's okay. Why did you call?"She let out a heavy sigh on the other line that made me feel nervous. Is it because of our daughter?

"Bella is sick, hon and she's finding you. I think you need to go here even just for 2 days?" I got worried, These past few weeks she always gets sick. I don't know why probably because of the climate change in the province.

"But My Boss is strict, hon. I'm not even get longer here for a month and yet I'm always going to the province"

"I'm sure your boss will understand it, hon. Your daughter is the most important here" I let out a heavy sigh. What can I do?

"I will try, Let's just talk later, hon. I'm still at work"

"Alright, bye. I love you"

"I love you too" I answered before I ended the call. I turned around to go back to the conference meeting but I got stunned when Ms. Urizele is standing in front of me.

"Ms. Selveria"

"What you did earlier is prohibited in my rules. You know that Mr. Sandoval. I don't want to happen that again" I tilted my head

"Apology, Ms. Selveria-Is the meeting is done?" I ask and she nodded before she walks away. I walk next to her, heading into her office.

"Do I have a schedule later?" She asks while we're walking. As far as I know, she doesn't have.

"Nothing, Ms. Selveria" She nodded and whisper something but I heard it.

Party? She can't live without a party huh? I breathe heavily when I remember what I saw when I arrived at her home when she threw a party. I directly went to her house from the seminar in Batangas.

I don't know why I wanted to see her that night but then, I saw something horrible. I let out a sigh again, Why I am acting jealous?
