Chapter 9 Amanda

Seb meet Lily and I outside the school.

"Let's go", I say as we walk down the block.

"So why did come to Seattle Seb?" I ask.

"My parents are always busy working in other parts of the states so they decided for my sister and I to stay by our uncle until I graduate high school", he explains.

"That's next two years and a half", Lily states.

"Yeah, my sister now started middle school so when I graduate she'll be finishing 8th grade", he adds.

"What middle school is she attending?" I ask. I went to Hamilton International Middle School.

"Hamilton International Middle School", he answers.

"That's so cool, we went to middle school there", Lily smiles.

"It's a great school", I add.

"That's what my uncle said."

We arrive at the café hangout spot in ten minutes time.

"Regular order, ladies?" Benny, the waiter who normally does be here on evening shift approaches us when we take a booth.

"Yes, what about you Seb?" I ask.

"Give me a few minutes", he says watching the menu.

Benny nods and return to the picking up order area, he pins our order and take up another booth's order.

A few minutes later

"Here's your order", Benny returns with two chocolate milkshake, turkey sandwiches and onion rings.

"I'll have a caramel milkshake with fried chicken and wedges", Seb orders, Benny writes down the order, but keeps glancing at Lily once in a while.

"He totally has a crush on you Lily", I say when he leaves.

She groans, "Amanda when would you drop this talk? He doesn't like me like that okay."

"Are you sure? Last week he gave you extra whipped cream", I smirk.

She rolls her eyes.

"Just drop it, besides my eyes are set on Nick", she sighs as she watches the door open and Nick walks in with a few of his lacrosse teammates.

"When would you get over him? You know he is a player", I sigh.

"I don't care, at the party this Saturday I am going to get his attention", she says with determination and drinks her milkshake.

Seb gets his order after five minutes and we eat in silent while watching Nick and his friends goof around.

30 minutes later

"How far do you live from here Seb?" I ask.

"Just a few minute actually, I didn't realize how close the café is from the house", he chuckles.

"Good, Brandon will be picking Lily and I up that's why I ask", I explain.

"I thought we were walking?" Lily frowns.

"Not when the rain will be falling soon", I shake my head. We are still ten minutes out if we walk and I don't want to catch the cold anytime soon.

"Then I better get going", Seb gets up.

He place fifteen bucks on the table, "tell Lily's crush to keep the change", he winks and she scoffs.

I laugh, "will do."

Benny approaches us a few minutes later, "done?"

"Yes and keep the change from our friend's order", I nod.

When Brandon drops me off at home I see an envelope right by the front door with my name on it.

Strange.

I pick it up and open the door, "Amanda is that you?" Mom asks from her study.

"Yeah mom, where are the twins?"

"Out still, are we having takeouts or cooked dinner?"

"Takeouts, I want to stay in my room for the rest of the evening", I answer and go upstairs.

I enter my large room and sit on my bed then open the envelope.

It reads,

"Roses are red, violet is not blue, keep smiling always because my love for you is true."

What the heck? Who could possibly write this? As far as I know, I don't know anyone who has a crush on me.

****

Wednesday evening

The note from yesterday is still bothering me, who can possible have a crush on me? Do they know who my brothers are?

"Meeting will be in five minutes, go get the freshmen who want to be sign up for any clubs", Victoria tells me.

Lily is already in the room with the other members; Brandon has decided to come back.

I walk to the other room where the freshmen are waiting; some of them want to join my book and drama club.

"Hey, I know some of you met me on Monday, but for those of you who didn't, my name is Amanda, vice president of the student body so just follow me, the president wants to meet you", I state.

They all get up and follow me to the other room where the meeting is being held. I enter and sit down in my respectful seat and all the freshmen and other students stand in front of the student body table.

Victoria stands up, "hello, welcome to Roosevelt High School for those of you who are new. My name is Victoria Stone, student body president and head cheer captain. Our school has many different clubs and two major sports, lacrosse and football,

"For those of you who want to be part of the student body there are only a few spots and only two freshmen can get in just like our vice president here, she got in last year and her friend Lily who is also our manager for events", she explains.

"These list on the table are for different clubs, just write down your name and for the student body spots, we will pick persons before final exams. We have to see your progress at school and your midterm and project grades; we don't tolerate anyone who is rude to teachers and schoolmates. I am snappy because I have a position and reputation to uphold to make sure this school stays on top", she adds.

"Also those who came for tryouts for the squad, results will be out by tomorrow morning. Good luck."

The students got in a line and most sign up for my clubs and a few for the student body positions.

"Club meetings will be starting from Monday, just watch the notice board on Friday to see which club meeting is first", I say.

They leave.

"Now that is done, let's get down to the real meeting. Any ideas for this school year?" Victoria asks the student body.

Our teacher, Mrs. Winter who supervises our meetings walks in, "hello managers of the school's student body", she greets.

"We were just starting the meeting", I explain.

"No, any ideas?" Tori says again.

"How about for Halloween we have a party?" Brandon suggests.

"Doesn't the twin normally have a par-"

"We will put that down on the list", Victoria cuts off the person and turns to our secretary.

"How about a winter ball?" Lily states.

"Didn't we do that last year?" Someone asks.

"No, it was the winter fest", I reply.

"Write down winter ball", Victoria adds.

"We didn't have a concert though", I frown.

"And put down concert as well. Any more ideas like the next term after winter break?"

"We can have a fund raiser on Valentine's Day, a guy can buy roses and chocolate from us and give it to a special girl or pay to have it deliver to the girl during class time", I state.

"They'll write their note as well and put it with the roses of their choice if they want to, also each girl doesn't have to get roses from one person. Also, guys can give roses to any amount of girls of their choice", I add.

"Even better, the guys can bring in their roses before 8:55 with the names of the girls on each rose", Tori smiles.

"How will we get the money though?" Brandon frowns.

"Someone will be here before 8 to collect the roses and money, when the bell rings the delivery persons will be set. We could have each person from freshmen to senior to deliver to each year; Brandon will be the junior deliverer and whoever gets pick for the two spots for the freshmen. Both of them will be for the freshmen", she explains.

"And seniors?" Mrs. Winter asks.

"Sorry we're late", Nick walks in with my brothers?

"Nice to have you back, the school is doing better with me as president than when you were president Nathan", Tori smirks.

"You wish, so what are you planning?" He takes a seat as well as Daniel and Nick.

"We were just talking about Valentine 's Day, that guys can pay the student body to deliver roses to the girls of their choice for them", the secretary explains.

"Any amount of girls?" Nick smirks.

'Yes, you just have to bring in the roses with the name of the girls stick to it and maybe a note too for one special girl only", Tori adds, "but we need a deliverer for seniors and sophomores."

"I volunteer for seniors", Daniel says.

"I'll do sophomore", Nick shrugs.

"And have you delivering for your fans without paying, nope someone else", I say.

"Who says those roses are for them from me?" He winks.

"Moving on, we need to decide what we are doing this semester", Tori states.

"How about a winter masquerade ball?" Nick suggests and Lily turns to hide her smile.

"Or a Halloween party?" Daniel shrugs.

"That's what I said!" Brandon exclaims.

"But don't you normally throw a Halloween party at your house?" Nick frowns.

"We can still have an epic one at school, we can always have a pre Halloween party before the actually Halloween", Nathaniel explains.

"We will have a vote amongst the students, which ever idea gets more votes we will be go with that one", I suggest.

"I'm okay with that", Tori nods, "Lily, how soon will you want the voting to be out?"

"By next Wednesday and the following Monday during assembly tell the students which vote wins", she answers.

"Good."

"I hope the winter ball wins, I want the twins' to have their Halloween party", Brandon mumbles.

Every year for Halloween I does stay at Lily's house since I wasn't allow to attend my brothers' Halloween party, but this year I hope it change.
