Chapter 7 Amanda

"Thank you Amanda for making the new students feel welcome today", Victoria thanks me.

"It was my duty anyway, when is our first meeting?" I ask.

"Wednesday we are getting release early, so an hour meeting should be good. Come up with some ideas of what we could do during this semester, last semester was fantastic with the spring fest and valentine's day dance", she smiles.

"Sure, I'll just brainstorm with Lily", I nod.

Victoria sighs,"will she ever forgive me? Its been almost a year and I didn't mean to pick on her."

"Just give her more time, maybe this year things will change", I suggest.

"I am also sorry for being bitchy to you when I got back, I know we were friends back in elementary school; I hope we can be frie-"

"Sure, just not yet. I want Lily to stand your present first", I cut her off.

"Thanks and since you are the vice president, you got to start to attend parties thrown by me. I will talk to Nathaniel once we go on that date and let him convince Daniel."

"Thanks, that means a lot."

"Consider it my official apology then", she smiles.

I see Lily waving me over with Brandon resting his elbow on her shoulder.

"Well I got to go, see you at the meeting on Wednesday."

"Yeah, once we start hanging out again. Can we have a sleep over before Thanksgiving?" She asks.

"Sure."

I walk over to Lily,"what did miss fake hair wanted?" She hisses.

"Just meeting on Wednesday and when are you going to forgive her?" I sigh.

"Never."

"Come on Lily pad, don't be like that. She apologize countless times", Brandon adds.

"So you're taking her side now?" She snaps.

"What? Of course not, I am just say-"

"Save it, I'll just walk home", she stalks off.

Brandon sighs.

"She wouldn't get far", I chuckle and go over to my brother's car.

"Did you talking to Victoria piss her off again?" Nathaniel laughs.

"Always, so what's this I hear about you asking Tori out?" I smirk.

He turns red,"I always liked her, just never had the courage to ask her out. I can't believe she actually said yes."

"Who can't resist that charming smile of yours?" I push him.

"I can", Daniel retorts as he unlocks the car.

"Whatever bro."

We arrive home and surprisingly mom hasn't left yet for her trip like dad did.

"My darlings are home, I made cupcake", she greets each of us with a hug.

"Mom, are you feeling okay?" Nathaniel questions.

"How come you are still here?" I frown.

"What kind of cupcake is it?" Daniel asks. He always thinking with his stomach.

"Yes I am feeling great Nathaniel, Amanda I decided to stay home for the rest of the week and its chocolate cupcake Daniel", mom answers.

"Why though?"

"Because I don't want to miss out too much of your high school life like I did with Max, Jason and Kayden. I want to attend a few games for Daniel and Nathaniel, hopefully spend more time with you too. We haven't had a spa day together in a long time", she explains.

"Well football starts back the beginning of next month", Daniel answers.

"And I am the captain", Nathaniel adds.

"That's great, your father will be back by the weekend, next week he will be staying in Seattle for work for a while",mom states.

"Can we have a family dinner on Saturday then?" I ask.

"I already plan to and have given the chef the menu I want."

"Can you change that to Sunday, there's a party Saturday night", Daniel states.

"Sure", mom nods.

"I want to come too", I say.

"No, it's not safe", Daniel snaps.

"I am not a child anymore, I want to go", I snap back.

"No, you are underage still."

"Well you been attending parties since you were in 8th grade", I argue back.

"I am a guy, besides you don't know how to handle situations that happen at parties."

"If you don't give me a chance to, how do yo-"

"Enough!" Mom yells,"Daniel you need to stop treating Amanda like she's twelve and Amanda your brother just looking out for you."

"Come on bro, its just one party", Nathaniel says.

"I'll let you go Amanda on one condition", mom turns to me.

"But mom-"

"Daniel stay out of this", mom glares at him,"you can go to the party if you promise not to get drunk, smoke pot and sleep wit guys."

"With those two there, that's not a priority", I scoff.

"Its settle then, but be home my midnight", mom warns.

"And get your own ride to come back home, we are crashing at that house after the party", Daniel adds.

"I'll just ask Lily if she's coming and she can sleepover after", I shrug,"thanks mom."

"Your welcome, I attended my first party when I was 13. I was a rebel back then", she smirks.

"That's where Amanda got her rebellious behavior, its from you", Daniel accuses mom.

"Some is from her father too, he was quite the wild guy back in college", mom adds.

"Let's go eat those cupcakes", I say and go to the kitchen.

My doorbell rings just before 6 pm, I open the door and see Victoria standing there in a skinny jeans and long sleeve top.

"Nathaniel, Tori is here!" I yell.

"Nice house by the way, I knew you guys were rich but not so rich", she says.

"Our dad owns a business and our mom loves glamour", I shrug.

"Who's your friend Amanda? She's so pretty", mom comes out of the dining room.

"Mom this is Victoria, she's going on a date with Nathaniel", I explain.

"Nice to meet you Mrs. Jones, you have a lovely house", Victoria smiles.

"Finally my baby boy is taking a girl out on an official date!" Mom exclaims,"I thought he wouldn't until he was in his late twenties."

"Mom, stop being dramatic", Nathaniel rolls his eyes.

"But it's true, I never seen you take a girl out on a date. You're doing better than Daniel right now, well enough your date and I hope to see you often Victoria."

"If Nathaniel decides to keep me around", she shrugs.

"He better, don't let her go", mom glares at him.

"I wouldn't, I actually like her", he confesses and blush.

"And I like you too", Victoria looks up at him with a smile.

They both leave.

"I'm happy for him, why does she look familiar though?" Mom frowns.

"Victoria Stone, my elementary frien-"

"Friend from first to third grade, now I remember. Look how she has grown up", mom smiles,"and quite pretty too, maybe you should try getting new female friends and one you have things in common with."

"But Lily and I have lots of things in common", I frown.

"I know, but Victoria can be a good influence for you fashion and style wise. You need girls like her in your circle."

"Is it because of Lily not coming from a rich family?" I question.

"No of course not, she's a lovely girl but can use a fashion makeover like yourself. Our family has a reputation to uphold you already know that", she reminds me.

"I don't need a fashion makeover neither do her, we are fine on our own", I snap and go to my room.

"Amanda that's not what I mean", mom sighs.

I fall on my bed and text Lily,

Me: Guess who is getting to attend a party on Saturday? :)

Lily: No freaking way, how?

Me: Mom, Daniel has no say in it

Lily: Brandon told me about it, I'll let him know you're getting to come

Me: Are you at his house?

Lily: He's at mine as usual, eating out all my food

Me: Your parents are use to him anyway

Lily: They still think we are dating *laughs*

Me: Well you act like you do so

Lily: See you tomorrow?

Me: Tell Brandon to pick me up please, I want to go to Starbucks first before school

Lily: No problemo
