Chapter 7 I Killed Him

Coco nodded in understanding.

Carl lunged forward and hugged his mother's legs. "I want to be with Mommy."

"Leave her. We can't afford to waste more time." The man took out a baby carrier, grabbed Carl, and tied him securely to his body.

However, Carl didn't care about anyone else. He lifted his head and looked at his mother.

"Go with him. Mommy will be fine." Coco leaned forward and planted a kiss on her son's cheek. Her eyes drifted to the man as emotions welled in her heart.

"Take good care of my son." An inexplicable feeling settled in her heart as she felt a strange connection with the man. He somehow seemed familiar.

The man nodded and crawled on the sewer pipe along with Carl.

Coco watched them leave, feeling both bitter and happy.

The man's mission seemed clear to her. He had come here only to protect Carl. His eyes were fixed on the little boy the entire time, and he hadn't bothered to look at her once.

However, nothing else mattered to Coco as long as her son was safe.

The banging of the door snapped Coco out of her thoughts.

"Damn it! Are you done?" The kidnapper growled impatiently.

Coco opened the door and stuck her head out. "Hey handsome, there is a big cockroach in here. I'm scared. Would you like to come in and help me?"

The man looked at her pretty face and swallowed loudly. He dashed into the cubicle and slammed the door behind him. Passion coursed through his veins as he wanted to ravage her body.

"Sure, I'm good at catching bugs." He swept his tongue across his lips and stared into her eyes. "Let me check if there are any bugs on your sexy legs."

Carl was clinging to the man for dear life as he continued to crawl further away from the ground.

The man smelled familiar, and Carl felt safe around him. However, that didn't stop him from worrying about his mother.

"Don't worry. Your mother knows to protect herself," the man comforted Carl as he continued to ascend the pipe.

Climbing the narrow pipe wasn't an easy task. He had to escape from the place without being noticed, as well as make sure Carl didn't slip off.

The man was soon breathless as Carl's weight hindered his every move.

"My mommy is a timid woman. Even the sight of a cockroach scares her, you know." Carl sniffed loudly.

A loud noise from the bathroom, followed by the screams of the kidnapper, stopped the man in place. He turned to look at the little boy, who was staring at him in shock.

"Are you relieved now?" 'How could my training go waste?' He shook his head proudly and continued to climb.

Three minutes later, Coco followed the kidnapper out of the bathroom.

"So soon?" The lead kidnapper frowned as he sized his assistant up. He could tell that the man must have had sex with the woman in the bathroom, for he had a thing for young girls.

The kidnapper's vacant eyes stared at him as he nodded.

"Where is the kid?" "I killed him. I killed him. I killed him..."

The man repeated the sentence over and over again.

The lead kidnapper frowned at his assistant's strange behavior. They killed people for money, so he couldn't understand why the man looked disturbed after taking the little boy's life.

Coco returned to her original position, slumped to the ground, and buried her face between her legs.

The hostages eyed her with sympathy. They believed that the ruthless kidnapper had raped her after killing her son.

However, no one knew that Coco had sprayed the sedative on the man's face. As expected, he was repeating the words she had whispered in his ear over and over again.
