Chapter 8 He Calls You So Intimately

Noticing that Spencer was staring at her again, Sarah immediately realized what she had done. Swallowing the chocolate at once, she rolled her eyes at him. "What are you looking at?"

Spencer burst into laughter. The sound of his voice was so gentle when he said, "You're so adorable! Do you want some more chocolate? I still have some in my pocket. Don't be shy."

"No more!" Sarah directly walked past Spencer and walked out before him.

He followed her as he shook his head helplessly. If he was being honest, she didn't look like a twenty-seven-year-old woman at all.

The two of them took the elevator to get to the ground floor, and then they left the office building. From a distance, Sarah could see a man in a suit, leaning against a white Audi.

When she saw James, he also happened to see her at the same time. He immediately waved his hand at her.

All of a sudden, Sarah remembered that James mentioned that he would pick her up from work today. Then, she glanced at Spencer beside her, and found that the situation felt a little awkward.

Obviously, Spencer also saw James waving at Sarah, and he looked at her with confused eyes. "Who is he? Is that the man who called you?"

Sarah looked at Spencer and answered, "Yes. We met yesterday. You can laugh all you want, but he's my blind date!"

For a while, Spencer didn't say anything. He just stared at the man who was slowly approaching them. When he saw that some other guy was approaching Sarah, there was an indescribable feeling in his heart that made him feel unhappy for no reason. Most of the time, he didn't have such feelings, because he knew that no man in the company would get close to her. Besides, even if she went on a blind date, she would always meet someone strange, and she would certainly not fall in love with that stranger. But right now, this man before them didn't seem too bad. Moreover, he looked strong and powerful. All of a sudden, Spencer felt like he was in a crisis.

James walked up to Sarah and raised his hand, attempting to stroke her hair. However, she immediately dodged his hand. It happened at such a short instance. After all, she wasn't used to being touched by strangers. And because of that, she refused James' gesture.

When he saw how he got rejected by Sarah, James didn't feel embarrassed. Instead, he just calmly smiled at her. "Sarah, why weren't you answering my calls?"

As he was being ignored, Spencer felt displeased, so he cleared his throat. It was his way of telling them to notice him.

And as expected, Spencer's action attracted their attention. Sarah glanced at Spencer with an understanding look. She knew that it was his usual way of attracting other people's attention. "Mr. Chadwick, are you perhaps too old to stand the wind?"

"Sarah, who is this guy?" James reluctantly asked while he was being ignored. He never imagined that there would be another man accompanying Sarah.

"Oh, this is our company's general manager, Spencer Chadwick." She gave him a brief introduction.

Casually putting his hand on Sarah's shoulder, Spencer whispered in her ear, "Sarah, he calls you so intimately. Who the hell is he?"

After removing his hand, she said to him, "Don't mess around. So be it! You can go home by yourself, and Mr. Holland can drive me home instead."

Afterwards, Sarah was about to leave with James. But how could Spencer agree to something like that? She was such a silly girl. If she left with a man she had only met once, was she not afraid that something bad might happen to her?

And because of that, Spencer held her slender wrist. "I'll be the one who drives you home! I'm worried about letting you go like this."
