Chapter 8 The First Time In A Bar

At lunchtime, the two girls settled at a roadside stall that totally fit Michelle's style. Overall, she loved food at roadside stalls. Not only was the food delicious, but the atmosphere of such type of businesses was quite pleasant.

Afterward, they walked hand in hand in C City's streets and ended up attracting some attention from passers-by, especially men.

Michelle realized they were actually looking at her friend. After all, she was so pale that she stood out in the crowd. As a matter of fact, her skin was as white as milk, which never ceased to dazzle Michelle's eyes.

However, Emily seemed to have no idea what was going on and kept asking, "Why are they all staring at us?"

Michelle gave her the side-eye and replied casually, "They're looking at you."

"Me?" Emily unconsciously pointed at herself as her blue eyes became wider.

Ignoring her, Michelle walked under the shade of a tree. Only then did she spot two people not far from her.

Even if they turned into ash, she would be able to recognize them anywhere.

Noticing that Michelle stood somewhat in shock, Emily went over and grabbed her arm, urging her to get going. Yet Emily just couldn't make her move. Once she followed Michelle's gaze, she finally understood.

"Is that the heartbreaker? Come on, Chelle, let's settle accounts with him."

During their time abroad, there were no secrets between them. Emily knew Wyn from university, and at the time, she often complained that Michelle preferred to spend more time with her lover than with her friends.

Apparently, the news of Wyn's marriage had caused an impact all over the world!

Emily was aware of why Michelle had come back. But if it had been her, she would have beaten Wyn up long ago.

"No, Emily. Let's leave now." She still didn't have the courage to face him. It wasn't because she was afraid of him or something, but she couldn't accept what happened.

Michelle was already a few meters away when Emily ran to keep up with her.

She knew that Michelle wasn't in a good mood, so she did her best to comfort her along the way. At last, she suggested, "How about we go to a bar?"

"Bar" wasn't exactly a foreign word for Michelle, but she had never been to one before. So it would be her first time.

Emily, on the other hand, was a bold girl. Although she knew Michelle didn't like this sort of place, today was a special day.

At the bar, the music was so loud it was deafening. The lights on the dance floor were a mad sea of blurs as a bunch of young men and women swayed their heads to the tune.

Everyone seemed to have a great time.

Emily led Michelle to a table in the front and promptly ordered two glasses of champagne for them.

The atmosphere inside made Michelle tense and even scared.

Emily took a glass of champagne and put it in front of Michelle. "Relax, I'm here with you, okay?"

Despite what she said, Michelle couldn't calm down her nerves. After graduation, she realized there were a lot of things that she had to go through in life yet. She thought that after a couple of minutes, she would adapt to the bar quickly. She just didn't expect she wouldn't enjoy it one bit.

Sipping her champagne, Emily soon joined the rhythm of the world around her.

She stood up and grabbed Michelle's hand, intending to take her to the dance floor, but Michelle shook her head. It was so noisy in there that she couldn't hear what anyone said clearly.

The sound of the music seemed to thump with every beat of her heart.
