Chapter 7 Foreign Friend

In Happiness District.

It was half past nine in the morning.

Olivia worked as a cleaner, so she had to leave the house before dawn. Michelle had recently woken up and was tidying up her room when she heard the doorbell ring. Putting her things aside, she rushed to open the door.

"Emily?"

The woman standing outside wore a white casual dress with matching sneakers and carried a fashionable pink purse in her hand. With a killer body, she was considered hot by many. Overall, her appearance was quite lovely.

"Chelle, have you missed me?"

Emily quickly opened her arms and gave Michelle a tight hug. The latter had a broad smile on her face as she leaned her head against the woman's shoulder.

Michelle had met Emily while she was studying abroad and was soon attracted by her beauty and grace.

Emily, in turn, liked to call her Chelle. In her eyes, Michelle was as beautiful and graceful as the snow in the winter, but her behavior towards people could also come off as a little cold at first.

Holding Emily's hand, Michelle was ready to lead her into the house. However, the woman outside had no intention of coming in just yet. When Michelle looked behind her, she found several boxes and luggage lying on the floor.

Emily didn't say anything but hinted with her eyes at the luggage outside the door.

Michelle smiled helplessly. Then she stepped forward to get the heavy luggage. As she raised it in her arms, she complained, "What's so heavy inside?"

Emily didn't respond. Instead, she walked into the living room and sat on the sofa while she looked around.

Michelle wasn't surprised by her behavior. During her time abroad, she had learned that foreigners' minds could be quite unpredictable.

"Those are your stuff," Emily finally explained after a long time in silence.

Michelle widened her eyes in shock. "What?" As far as she remembered it, she didn't have enough things to fit in all those several large boxes.

"You left me to deal with the school affairs after you came back. Do you have any idea how tiresome it was to pack all of this for you? I didn't know what you needed, and there were so many things in your room, so I brought you all I could find. Geez, did I mention how tiresome it was?" Emily looked at the ceiling, raising her voice in the end.

"Yes, I know you must be tired. But since it's your first time in China, I'll take you out to have some good time in return, alright?"

As she heard the words "good time", Emily couldn't help standing up and clapping her hands excitedly.

Emily was really easy to please, which also proved that she was far from cunning. Actually, she was quite naive.

Once she returned home, Olivia met Michelle's foreign friend. When Emily wasn't paying attention to them, Olivia eagerly pulled her daughter aside and asked, "Michelle, what does your friend like to eat? How about you buy some steaks or something? Maybe it'd be better if you took her out to eat."

Noticing her mother's desperation, Michelle burst out in laughter. Then she put her arm around Olivia's shoulder and said, "Mom, don't worry about it. Emily is a foreigner, but she loves Chinese food."

"Okay, then I'll cook something for you." Olivia took the apron from behind the kitchen door and was about to cook when her daughter stopped her.

"Mom, I'm going to take her out to have some fun. I'm afraid we won't eat at home," Michelle said, hugging her mother from behind. In fact, she didn't like having meal out, but it was only for a day. After all, Emily had just arrived, and Michelle wanted to show her around.

"Okay, you may go then, but come back early." Olivia was a little upset to hear they wouldn't have meals at home. No matter how appealing it was to the eye, a meal was always tasteless when she ate alone.
