Chapter 8 Separation Of Powers

Alice left Qin Mansion with tears in her eyes and took the coachman's carriage. When Wendy was about to go back, the coachman hadn't come to pick her up.

"She's really a bitch. No wonder so cheap." Lady Sherrie spat and ordered the butler to prepare a carriage for Wendy.

"Wendy, you should come back as you've suffered a lot in your mansion. Although our Qin family is not a big family, we can still support you and your mother. If anyone dares to bully you and your mother, Qin Mansion will be the first to disagree!"

"Thank you, aunt. I got it." Wendy nodded carefully. She got in the carriage with the help of Judy.

"Butler, you drive her home in person." Lord Qin asked in a worried voice.

"Yes, my Lord."

Lady Sherrie frowned as she watched the carriage drive away. Her niece might have a hard time at home. Besides, she knew Prime Minister Boris well. Her sister-in-law was clueless and that would ruin her happiness.

"Sherrie, what's wrong?"

"My Lord, I'm worried about Wendy." Lady Sherrie sighed, "I feel heart-wrenching for this girl."

Lord Qin sighed, "It's not suitable for me to take care of the matter in the backyard. Please take care of this girl. My little sister has only this one daughter, and she's a kind of person who hides true feelings. I'm afraid she won't say anything when hurt."

"Don't worry, honey. I'll take good care of her."

Seeing that Alice came back home crying, Olivia gritted her teeth. How bold Wendy was to make her beloved daughter cry.

"Alice, did Wendy bully you?" Said Olivia without caring Lady Elena's unhappy face at all.

Alice choked with sobs and said, "Oh my God! How dare Wendy said that I was a bitch born by auntie and I was a shame!"

"How dare she!" Prime Minister thumped the table angrily. Although Alice was a daughter of a concubine, she was brought up by the painstaking efforts of him. How could she be insulted like this? "How are Old Lord and Old Lord Lady doing?" Prime Minister asked eagerly.

"Father, grandfather and grandmother are in good health. All well." "Grandma also asked about father." replied Wendy politely.

"Really?" Prime Minister's eyes lit up, "What did Old Lord Lady ask?"

"She asked about your health condition." Wendy smiled, "She was worried about Dad. Mom, grandma just said you shall take care of yourself, take good care of your baby and don't worry about them."

"It's all my fault." Lady Elena sighed, "From now on, you should visit Qin Mansion more often to keep them company."

"Wendy, as the elder sister, you should take good care of your younger sister. You two are sisters and you shall hold together." Prime Minister didn't know what to say to Wendy. After all, it was Alice's wrong. Besides, Qin Mansion doted on Wendy so much that he couldn't offend this daughter. He hoped that he could get more chances to perform in the army.

"Dad..." Seeing Prime Minister let Wendy go so easily, Alice was upset. Her father didn't even blame Wendy for what she had suffered. Why?

"Alice, you should listen to your sister in future. You should spend more time at Qin Mansion with her." Said Prime Minister meaningfully.

Lady Elena's eyelids twitched. She looked at her daughter with worry. Seeing that Wendy was smiling kindly, Elena's heart sank. If they used Wendy to get close to Qin Mansion, their parents would be in danger.

Alice wanted to say something, but was stopped by Olivia, "Alice, you'd better thank your sister now."

Alice glared at Wendy unwillingly and said, "Thank you, my sister."

The smile on Wendy's face was pure and kind, yet her heart was filled with hatred. She couldn't help but wonder if she was really blind before and not seeing the obvious hatefulness? She didn't see that!

"You're welcome and don't worry, sister. My aunt didn't mean to say that. The rule of Qin Mansion is very strict. All the men in Qin Mansion are not allowed to marry a concubine. They always say that concubine is the root cause of chaos. Don't take it to heart, sister."

Hearing this, Alice and Olivia almost spat out blood, but they still pretended to be generous, "Of course no. It was Alice so rude."

"Wendy, your coming of age ceremony is about to come. Have you prepared everything?" Although Prime Minister was not a good father, he had to pretend to be one.

"Dad, I'm ready. I won't embarrass you." Wendy seemed to have no idea of what would happened. Olivia and Alice smiled weirdly, 'Oh really, you're ready?' Alice thought, 'Wendy, how humiliated I was today! When you have your coming of age ceremony, you'll be the most humiliated person in the world!'

"The coming of age ceremony will be held soon. You'd better stay at home for the next few days instead of going out. Prepare the coming of age ceremony at home. Since your mother is physically heavy, Olivia will deal with it."

"Dad, Aunt Olivia is five-month pregnant now. She is as heavy as my mother. Will she feel tired? How about asking Aunt Ashley to help Aunt Olivia?"
