Chapter 4 Do I Look Good

The Yan Garden was the Lu Clan's residence, and it was also where Martin lived.

It was on a large property with three different villas, all equipped with their own leisure and entertainment facilities. It was one of the most famous mansions in the capital city.

Martin was inside the main villa on the property.

It was quiet in the study.

A handsome man in a black suit was seated on the sofa. His face was chiseled, and he had deep dark eyes. His jet black hair was meticulously combed in place. He gave off a strong impression even when he was just sitting there.

If Cassandra were there, she would recognize this man at a glance.

He glanced at the document in front of him, then looked up at the man standing beside him, who was sweating profusely.

The man next to him was Carlos, one of Martin's confidants.

"Sir, your brother went too far this time. What should we do?" Carlos asked tentatively.

Martin squinted his eyes and said nothing. After a while, he said in a low voice, "Today is my wedding day. I'm not planning on killing anyone."

"Huh?" Carlos didn't get his point.

"Break one of his legs as his punishment," Martin said nonchalantly as if he were talking about the weather.

"Yes, sir!"

Martin turned his head and looked at the clock. He slowly stood up and ordered, "Get the car ready."

Carlos was stunned by his words. "Sir, are we going to the church already?" he asked.

"Yes."

Carlos didn't say anything more. He arranged for a car and drove Martin to the church.

It was Martin's wedding day, but there was no grand ceremony. The wedding was held casually in a church in the capital city.

No one else from the Lu Clan was informed about the wedding. There were no other guests except for the Yan Clan.

Carlos didn't know what was on Martin's mind, but he didn't dare to ask. After all, this marriage was because of a promise from the Lu Clan. He was surprised that Martin would actually agree to marry that woman.

"Carlos." Martin suddenly called out from the back seat of the car.

"Yes, sir?"

Martin lowered his eyes and asked, "Do I look good today?"

"Pardon?"

'What is he talking about? Is he trying to flirt with me? Is he serious?

Anyway, he has a charming face. He would still look stunning even if he wears nothing.

Wait! What's going on with me?

Why am I imagining Martin wearing no clothes?' Carlos was stunned.

"Sir, you look good whatever you wear. We spent a lot of time choosing your suit for today. Don't worry; you're the most handsome man in the world!" Carlos beamed.

A subordinate who wasn't good at buttering his boss up was not a good one.

Martin didn't say anything. Carlos didn't understand why he was asking this. He drove them carefully to the church.

In the church

A red carpet was laid out from the gate to the church. Apart from that, there was no other decor to suggest that a wedding was about to occur.

In the church, Martin stood on the stage dressed in a black suit. Next to him, Carlos looked anxiously at the entrance.

Several people came in slowly. The woman in the front was in a white wedding dress. She wrapped an arm around Evan's and walked slowly down the aisle.

Martin's eyes locked on Cassandra as she walked towards him. She looked up and her body stiffened when she looked into his eyes.

Although she tried her best to prepare herself for this moment mentally, countless memories of his violent and bloodthirsty nature flashed through her mind like a horror movie.

She was terrified of him. Martin was a monster!

But right now, she couldn't do anything but walk slowly towards her demise.

Though it was only a few steps away from him, time seemed to still. Cassandra tried her best to stay calm. She couldn't let the others find out there was something wrong with her.

Finally, she made it to the stage, arm in arm with Evan. Cassandra and Martin quietly stood side by side.

"Mr. Martin Lu, will you have this woman, Miss Cassandra Yan, to be your wedded wife, to live together in marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor her, and keep her, in sickness and in health, in sorrow and in joy, so long as you both shall live?"

It was eerily quiet in the church. Everyone's eyes were glued to Martin.

Susan looked at Martin in disbelief. 'How is this even possible? I thought Martin was an unattractive man. How come he's so handsome? What's going on?

He looks dashing and noble, like a ray of sunshine after a storm. He isn't at all like the man

they described him to be. Why?

I should've been the one who marries him!

How could this be?'

In a low voice, Martin answered, "Yes, I do."
