Chapter 10 Everything Of Mine Is Yours

They made their way to the sushi shop.

Several black luxury cars stopped in front of the inconspicuous shop and immediately drew the attention of the passersby. Some people even took out their phones to take photos and guess who they were.

A tall man opened the door of the black Maybach. A woman dressed casually in black jumped out of the car after him.

"What flavor would you like, Carlos?" Cassandra asked with a gentle smile on her face.

Carlos held the car door tightly. Her charming smile caught him off guard. It was enchanting and enough to ease his mind for a moment.

He was in charge of monitoring the Yan Clan. He knew how much Cassandra resisted marrying Martin. She even went on a hunger strike to prevent it from happening.

He and Martin were both convinced that she hadn't moved on from Roger. He doubted her intentions and remained cautious of her.

What was she planning?

Did she decide to let Roger go? Or was she just pretending?

Carlos quickly collected himself and lowered his eyes. "That's very kind of you, but I'm not hungry."

With a pout, Cassandra walked a few steps towards the shop, then turned back to the car in a hurry. She reached a hand out to Martin and asked, "Martin, I forgot to bring money with me. Could you lend me your wallet?"

Martin raised his eyes to look at her, then took out his black leather wallet and placed it in her hand. "What's mine is yours."

'What the hell? Is he trying to flirt with me again?

I didn't realize that he is so good at flirting with girls.'

Cassandra grabbed the wallet and turned to leave. She stood straight so fast that her head bumped against the door frame.

'Shit! That hurts! What's wrong with me?'

Cassandra had a strong urge to curse because of the pain, but she was determined to maintain her image. She decided to endure the pain. A cold hand approached her face and gently rubbed the spot on her head that throbbed in pain.

When his palm made contact with her skin, the pain magically faded in the background.

"Does it hurt?" Martin asked with a frown. She looked back at him in a daze.

Cassandra suddenly regained her senses and nodded her head at him. "It hurts, Martin. Maybe I should go to the hospital."

"We are going to the hospital now," Martin nodded.

"Sir, we're really late," Carlos said with a worried look.

Martin's face darkened, and he shot a cold glance at Carlos. "So what?"

He was always like this. When it came to Cassandra, he was willing to throw everything away without a care in the world.

Carlos wanted to convince him, but in the end, he lowered his head and said nothing.

In Serene Garden of the capital city

Serene Garden was an ancient estate built along the mountains and rivers. The estate was modest but luxurious.

The heads and elders of the Lu Clan all lived in Serene Garden. The elders usually didn't interfere with family affairs unless there was something serious.

In a courtyard of Serene Garden

Orchids lined the courtyard and bloomed all year round. An old man in a light purple robe sat under a tree with a gloomy face.

With a ferocious look, he asked, "What did you say? Martin took the woman to the hospital? What was he thinking?"

A man knelt on the ground in front of the old man. He was clad in black, and a mask covered his nose and mouth.

The man was panicked at the old man's words. "Yes. According to our plan, as long as they came closer, they would be eliminated. But we didn't expect—"

Before the man could finish speaking, the old man grabbed a teapot from the table and smashed it on the man's head. "You're all incompetent! This has been planned for so long! How can you let that bastard escape?"

The man's head bled. The old man was so angry that he didn't dare cry out in pain.

"I'm sorry! Please punish me!" the man in black said through gritted teeth.

A cold light flashed through the old man's eyes. His wrinkly finger gently rubbed the jade ring on his thumb. "He crippled my grandson's leg. He must pay with his life! He got lucky today. But I still have my ways to deal with him."
