Chapter 4 4

Maintaining my composure and not giving away my truth. "You joke around a lot, alpha Calhaun." Gently smacking on his chest, I tried to keep up with my farce. It was when the alpha grabbed my hand and lifted it while staring at me. I could see a meaningful grin over his face as he licked my palm. There was no doubt or hesitation. What if the alpha was telling the truth?

"Your reluctance and excuse of switching the chat displays a lot. I don't know who you are but for certain you are not Valeria Hayden. Am I right? Or am I right?" Wish I could snatch that proud grin over his face. "Don't panic, I am not going to expose you. Doesn't matter whomever you are, as long as you abide by the deal I had with Valeria." Wait a moment! He could really see souls.

Pulling my hand away from his mouth, alpha Calhaun's grip around my waist grew stronger. "Weren't you the one who brought me closer here? Now you are running without taking any accountability?" I had no idea how to react to his sudden switch of attitude. Perhaps, the alpha could also comprehend through my body language. "Do you think I would let you?"

Alpha Calhaun pulled me while a gasp left my lips. "What do you want?" His eyes were glaring into my soul, as if he could potentially see my true face. I tried to keep myself composed while trying to figure out the deal. "What is it that you both agreed upon?" The alpha seemed to be amused with the way I admitted being an imposter. I could see him entrusting his secret deal.

Swirling me around once more while we continued to dance. I played along with his antics, assuming he was willing to open with me. "All you need to worry about is conceiving for me." Leaning in towards my ear he whispered with a grin. "The rest isn't your concern yet. Not here." I understood what he meant by that, we were in the midst of the hall. Among plenty of people!

Reaching for his collars I pulled him closer while biting the corner of my lower lip. "Are you implying about spending the night with me, alpha?" His eyes turned into a wide grin as the alpha's hand travelled towards my butt. Squeezing my ass I gasped at his audacity which stunned me. Alpha Calhaun was the most feared supreme alpha, known for being nonchalant and ruthless.

"Wasn't planning on it before." He spoke while looking down on my lips as his gaze travelled to my breasts. Due to the tight dress and low neckline alpha Calhaun could potentially see my cleavage. Licking his lower lip with a grin, I could feel my body getting aroused. "You seem an interesting person, compared to Valeria Hayden." Did it mean he was not involved in former Valeria?

Composing myself and the treacherous body I was inside. It appeared that the wolf of the former body owner had also died. Because I could not feel any such supernatural surge inside the body. Simply meaning I was wolfless once again but had resources and power. "See you tonight, dear wife!" Alpha Calhaun held my chin and grazed his lips over mine before leaving.

Seeing him heading away proudly while I grabbed the wine glass from the waiter who walked past me. Gulping it down to cool down my aroused body, it seemed the former Valeria was indeed fond of sex. I saw Anna and Jane glaring at me in the corner of the

hall. As our eyes met I couldn't help but wink at them to put the ladies to shame. Meanwhile, Laine seemed happy for some reason.

Later that night when the ceremony ended and the guests were leaving. Alpha Aaron and my step-sister Alice were staying for a while as the journey was quite long. I bid goodbye to all the guests with alpha Calhaun and was about to leave the hall. It was the moment when Anna walked towards me with two maids. "Alpha Calhaun has sent you a bit of help. Here."

The two maids came forward and bowed to me. It wasn't a wonder that alpha Calhaun had given me the same perks as the other

women. "Delightful, Miss Anna." I smiled at her while Anna seemed proud of her selection. Whereas, I didn't want to give her any kind of access to my personal space. However, the opposite was the idea which struck my head.

"Though..." Looking behind her while tilting my head, shifting the attention back at her. "I want those two maids who are assisting you these days." A wide cheek to cheek grin appeared on my face

as I turned my head to address Anna. "You wouldn't dare refuse the potential luna. Right? After all, you failed to score the throne." Knowing my words would boil her even more.

I could see Anna's lips and eyes twitching which made me amused. She was indeed angry over whatever I said to her. Nonetheless, Anna slightly bowed in defeat while Jane stood nearby watching us. "Certainly, Miss Valeria. You are in power here now." Anna looked at me with a keen gaze before pausing for a moment. "Till it lasts." A grin appeared on her face as she gestured to her maids.

The two of them came forward and bowed to me as their submission. I ogled them from head to toe and for some reason they both seemed tensed. "We shall see, Miss Anna." Toying with my hair lock, every single gesture of mine angered her. "Who will stay and who shall be stripped from an already demoted status." Once again, her lips twitched and fingers curled in fists.

Nonetheless, I walked past her towards my bed chambers where I had opened my eyes. Knowing the room which was allotted to me, the maids followed behind with their heads lowered. Right after the wedding I had made plenty of enemies. Though perhaps Laine was reliable as she was amused by my antics. There was a lot to do before executing my revenge plan for Alice and alpha Aaron.
